Disappointing boat buying experience. Delivery was late, and the boat came with unauthorized changes. I asked for a link bar, but they installed a TailFin system instead and called it "better." Trailer lights were wired backward, and no walkthrough was done. They even used my toilet during the test run without asking. At 100 hours, another mechanic found the impeller was installed backward, causing overheating issues. Poor communication and terrible customer service. I called them about a listing for a Garmin unit they had on Facebook Marketplace. They told me they would set it aside with my name on it so I could pick it up later today. I drove a half an hour after work, only to find that they sold the unit to someone else. They made no effort to contact me, made no apology or attempt to make it right, and pretty much just shrugged like that's how it goes around here. What a terrible way to operate a business. We are here in Hawaii. Purchased a boat long distance from Master Marine in Mount Vernon, Washington. From the onset Brandon reached out to us and provided us with exceptional service from start to finish. He listened to our needs and helped us find the right boat for us by sending us specs and actual photos of the boats and trailers that were in stock. He was always quick to answer emails, texts, and calls. Have had my boat for a month or so now after waiting for a month to drop it off. Work that needs to be done is to take the motor and controls off one boat and just mounting the motor on my boat. I Have called a few times and keep being told next week. I understand that everyone is running on limited staff but communication is not good from their end. I asked at the start if I could just bring my boat when they were ready but they said no, that's not how they work (this was the day before I was set to bring it to them). They told me that the date they gave me was for a slot in their lot. I have work in auto shops for a good part of my life, all this seems very odd to me. Anyone can hold onto your boat for weeks and then when you call , tell you it will cost more to fix than the boat is worth, without giving any details. That's easy and doesn't take a Master Marine. I expected more from this area business, but I've gotta say, the bar is low when it comes to customer service in this industry. Buy a boat and good luck! read more

I saw some previous poor reviews from 2019 under the previous management. I live nearby, have a 250 hp and 8 hp Yamaha outboards needing oil change upper and lower units. Eric runs the place, picked up the trailer, they turned it around in a day, Chuck gave me info on both my motors, and future tips. Eric brought it back, a tricky back-up but he was perfect. Fine prompt service, reasonable price, a pleasure to deal with, I recommend. read more

Had a first-class purchase experience with the folks at Master Marine, they worked with me on price and all the details so I could get the used boat I wanted. Later, when a discrepancy on the hours meter popped up they quickly addressed it to my satisfaction. Even better, when they discovered they had some cushions that went with my boat in their warehouse (3 months after purchase!) they went the extra mile to contact me and make sure I got them. Huge selection of boats! Friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. The service department is honest and upfront. They tell you exactly what is going on with your boat and fix it right. I've had them install a new Lowrance in my 23' Trophy and the dash looks better than the stock one did new. Highly recommended!!! read more

From my experience , the customer service here is horrible. You have to stand in front of the counter waiting a while, while they're sitting there doing nothing before they finally ask if they can help you. Not a lot of options for boat parts in this area and unfortunately had to go here several times. They've always had a superior air. and have always seemed reluctant to help. read more

Repairs are usually several weeks out or in our case several months. Dropped the boat off early June didn't get it back until late August, with an outrageous bill, at least the boat was running so they did good on that part. I needed a prop for the boat so I called there service desk. A young boy answers the phone and I tried to tell him the make model I realize I have ben put on hold to speak with another boy who told me I need to bring the prop in to there shop to make sure we got the right one. I go get the prop take it all the way to there shop. I stood there and waited about 20 minutes just so that same little stinker can tell me "well we can't do anything with out the serial number off the outdrive". "Boy I sure wish you had told me this when I called yesterday"I said. The boy just throws his hands up and looks at me like I'm some kind of idiot. Avoid this place. They get a hard by being rude disrespectful and mean. read more

Customer Disservice. I am writing this review to warn others of the lack of any customer service at Master Marine in Mount Vernon. After being told that my kicker motor was ready for installation, I brought my boat to Master Marine. They stated that they would call me when the work was completed. No callback. Four weeks later, I called them and was told by Bruce in service that he would have to do some investigating and would call me back. No call back. Two weeks later, I checked in with Bruce who said I would need to speak with Jay the service manager, and that Jay would call me. No call back. Two weeks later I called and was told by Jay that he would look into it and that I would be dealing directly with him thereafter and that he would call me back with information. No call back. When I called back 10 days later, Jay told me that the motor was not the correct length for my boat and that he would look into finding the correct motor. No call back. I again called and was told by Bruce that he would leave a message for Jay but if I did not hear from Jay I should call him. No call back. When I called Jay, he told me that someone in engine sales would call me back. I did get a call back from Lawrence who offered me a new engine that was $1300 more than the original motor or a similar motor with an expected wait time of 2 - 3 months. I decided to take my boat 15 minutes down the road to Camino Marine where a motor was in stock and installed within days. My boat, that is usually stored for the winter, sat outside for four months through a pacific northwest winter of snow and rain. At the time I picked up the boat, it was dirty with debris, my canvas Bimini was soaked, and the contents of my glove box wet and molded. There was no effort whatsoever to clean my boat up before I received it. At no time during this ordeal, did anyone at Master Marine apologize for the error, inconveniences or lack of communications, suggesting that my treatment was acceptable to them. read more

Take your boat here if you don't want to use it for a couple months and you don't mind getting over charged on labor. Shop rates being what they are, you'd think the techs could troubleshoot or install simple cables efficiently. 8 hrs labor for a steering cable! Wide open install? I smell something fishy and it's not because I got to go fishing! read more

Had a great experience with these folks! I purchased a used boat a few months ago it is older and I was not sure what kind of maintenance that my particular out board needs. I was givin honest advice and they did exactly what they said they would do they kept I contact with me and respected all of my wants and needs! Price was spot on (actually a bit lower then quoted) and they were on it when I came to pick it up with copies of notes and other suggestions to look forward to. I will be using them for ALL the service on my boat and look forward to purchasing my upgrade in a few years! Nice work guys! read more
