When I am paying $100 a month to learn various forms of martial arts, I want to show up to locked doors and a gym that's in a 15 x 20 foot garage. Secondly, although the BJJ classes are great, it would be better if they were taught by a blue belt or even a white belt so that I wouldn't feel so insecure about going to class. Also, what's with the one female bathroom??? They don't even deserve one. In many countries women wouldn't even be aloud to train with men, let alone piss in the same building. Another major gripe I have is the fact that when it's hot, they open the front doors! WTF?!? I want sweat dripping from every foreskin and every orafice so that I can punish my opponent with more than just an arm bar or triangle (yes I am referring to my ball sweat). And what's with all those tires laying around???? I never see any cars in the back neing worked on. I don't know maybe I'm missing something. Last but not least, what's with the old bald guy teaching the muay thai classes? He seems to be the oldest guy in the gym. Half the time he doesn't even pay attention to his students. I think he has more of a crush on some of the other fighters and instructors at the gym. I could be a little jealous but I'm not. All that aside.... the place is really laid back which makes for an excellent learning environment. That's why I slapped about a million of those bumper stickers on the back of my Kia Rio. Hopefully it will help me get chicks.

Even when there is a full class or a spread in experience among people in the class we receive a great deal of personal attention from Sifu Rick and the other instructors. It is a very supportive environment that still treats you as an independent adult and encourages you to push yourself to new levels of physical fitness and skill in whatever form you are working to learn at the moment. The sense of welcome among the existing students and positive environment also make it a place we look forward to going several times a week. If you like a very structured program, the progression for the belts and levels is well laid out and there is a lot of history and background of the styles worked into the classes. The instructors are also open to questions and are great about discussing and demonstrating practical applications of the katas and forms you learn at each level. While we do not have any children ourselves, we have also been impressed by what we have seen of the children classes and the instructors' ability to move from teaching the children to teaching the adult classes. The school offers regular classes in both Kung Fu and Tai Chi, spread over both evenings, afternoons, and weekends, which has made it easy to fit in our schedule. It has also been incredibly affordable and the school is very transparent about where the costs exist for both monthly fees, testing costs, and equipment. We look forward to progressing into the weapon katas and more advanced forms and would highly recommend this school for anyone looking to increase their physical fitness, work on their health and general well being, or just learn something new!

It is less flashy, i.e. you won't see very low or exaggerated stances like those in the movies, but it is effective, and barriers to entry are essentially non-existent. Sifu Rick is a talented teacher and a practitioner, and cares a lot about his students and their progress as martial artists. I highly recommend the school, and the art, to everyone - it's great for your body and your mind, whether you are 7, 70, or anywhere in between.

They each have a unique style of teaching so it's cool to take multiple or different classes to get a mix of the styles they have ! This group pushes my limits and takes me to deep water! That's for sure they make me dig deep and bring out my full potential. Thinking about starting some sort of form of combat ? This is the place! Pricing is good ! Remeber you get what you pay for and I feel I'm getting my moneys worth! For sure !!

DONT COME HERE!…read more First off, the pricing is incredibly misleading. There are no prices listed on the website, and when you call, they won't give you any info -- you have to go in person just to find out. They advertise a $199 starter pack, but once you're there, the price changes without warning. It's all very unprofessional and shady. I didn't even receive everything that was promised in the starter pack -- no gym bag, no proper uniform -- and they refused to give any refund or compensation for the missing items. Classes are often not taught by the owner or a qualified instructor, but by his son, and the front desk is handled by the owner's daughter. It feels more like a loosely run family business than a serious training facility. There's little consistency or structure, and when I decided to leave, they charged me a $200 cancellation fee that was never clearly explained beforehand. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone -- especially not beginners or women. The environment isn't welcoming, and "light sparring" often turns more aggressive than it should. Overall, disorganized, overpriced, and disappointing.
