Bad decision hiring Mater Demolition. Felipe runs a shady business. We got a quote for pool demo-and-fill for $17,100, not the cheapest but I decided to give it a try because I want quality work. Afterall, it's my house and I don't want to worry about it. I thought it was rude for him to call afterhours and demand payment "right now" "on the spot" in a brusque tone. But I paid him anyway just to keep things moving. Shortly after breaking ground, he found underground water. His engineer (at extra charge) wasted so much time claiming we had a leak. He was wrong. We had to hire a plumber and a leakage detector (at our cost) to prove him wrong. Later we had to hire another soil engineer just to get Felipe to continue with the work. Total waste of time and money! After four months, I got a call at 6pm tonight to make final payment "right now"! When asked where's the permit approval, he could not provide it. He claimed it's online but could not give me the URL link to find approval. When asked for proof of permit application, instead of a straight answer, his answer was "do you not trust me"? "do you think I'm a liar"? It's meaningless to carry on a conversation like that. After seeing the final invoice, I was shocked there were so many items that got added without me knowing. For example, the material (gravel) was an additional $1,200. I made sure the $17,100 included demo and fill, now I need to pay for gravel? $600 for pumping water. This is ridiculous for a pool demo company to charge customers to pump water. Isn't that a must for the job? I am going to file a claim with the state licensing board. So the lesson I learned - the cheapest is not good, but the expensive ones are not guaranteed either. Very disappointed to have engaged with this company. read more

We needed new gas lines and electrical run to a bbq and fire pit. Felipe responded fast to quote our job at a good price. Our job required cutting existing concrete, brick, stucco, and digging a trench and tunnels for gas pipes. Felipe worked closely with the city of Irvine to get our permits done.
