Not good if you've been drinking beer for a while. As an added perk, we were given a beer Cosy which I believe may be sponsored by Sunlife homes. It was a nice gift and a nice thought. I'll be back.

FINS Seafood & Dive Bar…read more Atmosphere & Service Occasionally, you discover a place that exceeds your expectations--and Fins did exactly that. We stopped by for dinner on Thursday at around 5:30 p.m. The spacious indoor dining room was attractive and nearly full. Outside, there is a large tiki bar, plenty of tables and chairs, and a small stage for live music. Smoking appears to be permitted at the outdoor tiki bar, which is worth noting. We chose to sit outside so we could enjoy live music. Our server, Alicia, was excellent--attentive with drinks, orders and happy to answer our questions. What We Ordered *Clam and corn chowder: A hearty bowl of soup with clams, corn, and potatoes. *Seafood skins: Crisp potato skins filled with shrimp, scallops, and bacon, then topped with melted Cheddar Jack cheese and Old Bay and served with sour cream and chives. *Cod fish and chips: Fresh Atlantic cod in a light beer batter, fried until crisp and served over fries with tartar sauce. *Haddock fish and chips: Fresh haddock in a light beer batter, fried until crisp and served over fries with tartar sauce. Food & Overall Experience The chowder arrived first and tasted even better than it looked. It was served hot and generously packed with clams, corn, and potatoes, with rich flavor in every spoonful. It is the best clam and corn chowder I have tried in the area. The seafood skins were also delicious and loaded with seafood. Both fish-and-chips dishes were among the best we have had locally. Each generous fillet covered the top of its basket, the beer batter was fried perfectly crisp, and there was a plentiful serving of fries' underneath. Everything we ordered arrived hot, flavorful, and generously portioned. We loved our visit, and FINS has earned a place in our regular dining rotation. We are already looking forward to returning and would gladly recommend stopping by. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Gulf Coast Terry

Point 57 Kitchen and Cocktails stands out among the plethora of what I call "semi-upscale"…read morerestaurants which dot the eighth largest city in Florida. Dressed as a mini version of a Bahama Breeze restaurant, 57 hits on all cylinders. From scrumptious food, tasty drinks to staff that actually provides service that's "just right." Observant, friendly, fun, welcoming and attentive. My wife and I had the $20 Cape Royal Burger. A delicious 1/2 lb. Black Angus beef, with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, and an included order of P57 fries which are fantastic! One of our friends enjoyed the $20 Grilled Shrimp Tacos which included 3 tortillas, with all the fixings and an order of the P57 fries. She liked it. Her husband started with an order of $22 Maryland Crab Cakes..FULL of crab! He loved them and followed with Shrimp and Pasta ($Unknown), ate it all, said it was great and was impressed with the bread. "It looked hard, but was nice and soft." Authors note: This was our first visit to Point 57, we had glanced at the lunch menu on-line. Both our friends and ourselves had a bit of sticker shock when we sat down and saw the menu Dinner prices. That is NOT a negative, it's a notification. The one big "REALLY!?" for me was the $27 "Starter" Lobster Mac and Cheese. It's a dish I've enjoyed at many great restaurants and had to pass because of the price. With that said, the food quality and service MATCH the price. And I highly recommend Point 57.

When I saw that this restaurant was located on Del Prado, I should have known better. The reviews…read moreand website of Point 57 portray a classy dining experience. What I endured was something entirely different. We were a party of four, attending for an early weekend dinner. I fully expected a moderately upscale experience; what I endured was an absolutely freezing cold, nearly empty dining room that basically looked like an out-of-date Denny's. Besides the tired, dated decor, I was horrifically uncomfortable because of the temperature. I have experienced this several times in lower end restaurants - the staff keep the temperature at a level THEY find comfortable. Besides the shock of the terrible dining room, this entirely destroyed the dining experience. While our waitress was polite enough, she allowed the beverage of one of my guests to run out. This is unacceptable for a restaurant trying to draw a regular, more upscale clientele. The rest of the staff seemed essentially untrained and did not work as a team. I saw one person on staff with their fingers in their mouth on the dining room floor. The dated bar was filled with what looked like regulars. I didn't bother with a cocktail once I saw the dining room. I'd say I made a smart choice. The food was decent, but was entirely outweighed by everything else at this facility. This is the only reason I'm giving two stars. I didn't have the stomach to check out the restrooms. Ultimately, I'd say Point 57 is probably decent competition for Red Lobster or Applebee's. Personally, I will stick with Stone's Throw restaurant elsewhere in the Cape. Point 57 management should travel there; they might learn something.

I ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp with a side of onion rings. It was okay, but the Boom Boom sauce just didn't compare to the versions I've had at other restaurants. The onion rings also weren't what I expected--they were more like crispy onion shoestrings rather than the thick-cut onion rings I usually enjoy. My buddy ordered the Fish Po' Boy, and unfortunately, it fell short as well. He felt there was far too much bread and not nearly enough fish. The highlight of our visit was definitely our server, Danielle she was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service from start to finish. She really helped make up for the inconsistencies with the food. At this point, I'd say I'm one for two on my visits. The first experience was excellent, while this one fell short with that being said, I do appreciate that they offer a veterans discount, and that's always a nice gesture. I'm hoping the next visit is more like my first because I'd definitely like to give them another chance.

Cape Cod Fish Co…read more First Impressions We stopped by because we were craving fresh fish and lobster. Cape Cod Fish Co. is casual rather than fancy, but that is part of its appeal: the focus is squarely on serving some of the best seafood in the area. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. Since the weather was beautiful, we chose to sit outside. Our server, Christie, provided attentive service and answered all our questions. What We Ordered * Large bowl of clam chowder * Side salads with a wine vinaigrette-style dressing (included with the entrées) * Classic lobster roll * Baked stuffed haddock * French Fries (included with the entrées) Highlights The clam chowder was excellent, with the best flavor of any I've tried in this area. The side salads were fresh, and the wine vinaigrette-style dressing elevated them beyond the typical side salad. Even the French Fries were good. The Entrées The classic lobster roll was amazing. My wife, who is originally from Maine, said it was the best lobster roll she has had since moving here. Even the bread was toasted perfectly. My baked stuffed haddock was equally impressive: a generous piece of haddock filled with crab and lobster, then covered in a rich lobster cream sauce. The entire dish was hot, flavorful, and thoroughly satisfying. Final Verdict Everything arrived hot and packed with flavor. Cape Cod Fish Co. earns a full five-star rating from me. I can't wait to return, and this restaurant deserves a spot in your regular dining rotation. You can thank me later. Gulf Coast Terry
