Being in close proximity to Horseshoe Bend, we weren't the only ones with that idea! There were at least 30 overnighters in RVs, vans, station wagons, etc. (Note: many Walmarts allow guests to stay overnight in their parking lots but you should always check with the manager as local ordinances and local Walmart policy may prevent this). Our overnight experience was great! The parking lot was huge (and the RVs parked around the outside perimeter). well-lit, safe, and relatively quiet. We felt like we were part of a community of travelers looking out for each other. The best part though was having the Walmart right there. We were able to pick up fresh food for both dinner and breakfast. and all of the miscellaneous items that were on our shopping list. We ended up going into the store at least three times to purchase items. Staff were friendly and helpful. The aisles were well-stocked. The store was clean and well-organized. Thank you, Walmart!

Called Rob from Surf Lake Powell and he was incredibly helpful. He spent time on the phone with us and several text messages back and forth. After we got off the lake, Rob took a look at the prop and wouldn't sell us a new prop. He had one in stock and easily could have just told us we needed a new propeller but he examined the shaft and rudder and determined we might be able to get the prop fixed back home in SLC with the Prop Doc instead. A+ customer service and honesty. Don't even try calling the other shops in town!

There are lots of name brand items and cute clothes for almost everybody. I say "almost' because the sizes seemed to only go up to the average sized body. There are some unique things in this shop at extremely reasonable prices, such as prints of artistic renditions of the Grand Canyon! If you're looking for cheaper GC souvenirs or need some food (ranging from hot pizza to instant ramen) and want to see the Watchtower, come on out!
