Not knowing the area, I looked on Yelp for recommendations and was impressed with the comments & 5 star reviews. I reached out, and they responded promptly. I was able to make an appointment for the day & time needed. The entire experience was 5 plus stars. From making the appointment through the massage & even after. Liz, who was the massage therapist for my dear friend, has reached out to check up on her recovery. Let's face it, you don't usually get that type of care with just any business. My massage therapist was Devonte, and I can't say enough wonderful things about him as well. He was the person I was corresponding with from Dallas & the one who made sure we could make this work. We only had one day to work with prior to her surgery. My dear friends blood pressure was so high that the doctor had said prior to the massage appointment that if her blood pressure didn't come down, he wouldn't do the surgery. Well, thankfully, the two-hour massage was exactly what she needed. She has always had a lot of anxiety, and I knew this was what she needed to get the blood pressure down. Well, surgery went well, and the road to recovery is now only a short distance away. Thank you to Devonte & Liz for fitting us into their busy schedules. I know my dear friend will continue with Black Swan on her road through recovery & I will definitely be back when I'm in the area for future visits.

I tagged along with my husband to Charlotte for his work trip and got to explore the city a little. I decided to get a massage, but other places with higher ratings than here didn't have an opening on the one day I have. Tuy had the next highest rating and availability. Their booking site was very easy to use. I was able to get in the next day and booked the 90 min Swedish massage for $155. Although it isn't at the best location (said another reviewer who gave them a 5) it didn't bother me bc I've been to the ghetto-est place and they have one of the best service. I was greeted by two woman as I entered and was then instructed to fill out a form. By the time I settled in & waited for the masseuse the massage started about 10 after my scheduled time. I've been to numerous massage parlors and I expect it to be relaxing. The "relaxing" instrumental music sounded like it played from the hallway/lobby, not in the actual room. It wasn't that loud but loud enough to distract the coming noise I'm about to elaborate. The music played for about the first 30 mins of my session, then it went silent. I had the first room on the left so I can hear every conversation in the lobby, who's coming in & leaving & worst of all, the sound of the cars driving by and the a/c fan. At first i thought the window was open but later looked and it wasn't. I should have told my masseuse but I kept telling myself the music will come back on but by the time it did, it was towards the end of the session. The music started again when another gentleman walked in for his session. Next, the lighting. Again, I expect dim lighting in a massage room. It was fine when I laid face down but as soon as I had to face up, i felt the brightness even with my eyes closed. Some places put a towel over your eyes but this place did not. The only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is bc of my masseuse. I didn't catch her name, but she was an older woman and she did an incredible job. Only complaint, I left like I was short 5 mins. Make sure u arrive early to use the restroom and a few mins to fill out the form! I read that the owner has been in business for a while so she should know the etiquette of a massage parlor. For how much I paid + $20 tip, I wish it would have been a great experience. I'm usually able to hand the cash tip to the masseuse myself, but she was no where in sight so I left it with one of the two ladies I saw when I first walked in. I hope she gets it! If they can fix these mishaps, this place can definitely be great. Although I'm Super disappointed that they weren't as attentive to a fellow Asian as the others.

Location is easy to find in a small business park, not far off Independence Blvd. She shares the office space with other independent therapists; her room is no different from any other massage rooms I have been to - overall it was comfortable, dark and efficient. A few things I thought were positive about Alison: 1. She gave me a full hour! Not an hour but minus the changing in and out of clothes time. 2. She spent a good amount of time on my glute, a body part that is often forgotten during massage. 3. She spent time on head, feet & hands Overall I was very happy with the quality of her service. I know sometimes Groupon deals turn out to be "not-so-good" deals and I'm glad this is not the case.
