The owner is so rude. I had a similar experience to Jennifer Z who also left a review. I chose this place multiple times due to convenience in location, same day availability, and I felt I was supporting the other good people that worked there. All of the employees (besides the owner) have been nothing but warm and kind despite barriers in communication as they speak little to no English. We made a call ahead appointment for 5pm. The owner called us at 4:59 asking where we were, in which I mentioned we were nearby just a couple minutes away. He started berating me on how I need to call sooner as they have appointments at 5:30. We apologized and moments later walked in. The owner refused services to us "we can't take you anymore." I look down at my phone and see 5:03 turn into 5:04. We understand that we were a few minutes late but had this been met with an option for perhaps a different service or 20 minute chair vs 30 minutes we could've had a better experience. This place is a little out there but amazing! My masseuse Judy was awesome. I'm visiting from out of town and I was nearly in tears at my hotel because I couldn't move my neck. So this was like an emergency massage session. When I got in there, there wasn't anybody there so Judy immediately came over and sat me down. She asked me what I wanted as far as services and I asked for half chair for 30 minutes, and half foot massage for 30 minutes. As soon as I sat down in the massage chair, she began massaging my neck and I think I drooled. As she continue to massage, she applied the perfect pressure and was able to hit all my sore points. after 30 minutes, we moved to the other chairs where I got my foot massage. It started with a light head and face massage followed by getting my footsies rubbed. This also included the calves and upper quads. I actually fell asleep and jerked awake... sheesh! Needless to say, o thoroughly enjoyed my time here and recommend you to come and enjoy. I think I've grown a couple inches since the massage as I can stand upright again! New Dragon Acupressure Massage I came in to be treated by a friend of mine, especially since I have had a rough 6 months and my body was insanely tense. If you ever want to feel relaxed and have your muscles less tense..NEVER COME HERE. 1. My muscles were barely even touched, and for some reason, she massaged my bones until they felt like they were turned to dust. 2. I stopped by Massage Oriental because I was looking for somewhere where I can relax a bit while in Minneapolis, given my body had been so tense from the work and accumulated worries over the past month. The place had a really reasonable price at just $52/hr or $102/2hr..that's a good price in my mind, especially for non wimpy type of massages. Even better deals..I think you can buy 5hrs of massages for a price of 4 hours or something. If I weren't from out of town, I'd probably buy the package for sure. The place is not upscale by any means. The tables for the massages are separated by cubicles and curtains..so you can totally hear what's going on next to you/outside. But the therapists are good enough that they don't talk to each other while messaging, etc...so it gives you some moments for relaxation still. I thought the massage was good..deep enough and relieved me some stress. I didn't like though that at the time of paying..I went to give my massage therapist some tips in cash...and the cashier who ran my credit card asked my therapist in Chinese (thinking that I didn't understand what he said) "duoshao?"..e g how much? (Referring to the tip in cash that I gave to the therapist). I typically give good tips..so I don't worry about being judged or anything..but the question/asks were unprofessional and super unwarranted in my mind! read more

First of all, let me just say that I had been going to this establishment for several years. I have always found the owner to be unpleasant, unprofessional, and worst of all...demeaning to his employees. I can understand Chinese, and have heard the way he talks down to his employees and they have told me first hand how terribly he treats them. Because the employees speak little to no English and are somehow brought to the US by the owner, they have no other employment options to send money back to their home country. I regrettably tried overlooking some of these things because prices were low, the location is close to where I live, I was often was able to get a same day appointment, and a part of me felt like I was still helping his employees. Today I was treated so poorly that I finally fully understand what all the other negative reviews on here are about. The owner is disrespectful in his treatment of all people, has an extremely fragile ego, and just overall a bad human being. I made an appointment in advance for a 60 minute massage, showed up on time, and had the appointment cut to 50 minutes because they had other clients waiting. I brought this up to the owner at checkout, saying in a quiet, calm, and respectful manner that the massage had been cut a bit short. I told him I saw that they have a lot of customers today, but wanted him to know about the shortened appointment - simply informing and not asking for anything in return. I then said I would like to purchase the massage package of buy 4 get 1 free, clearly trying to overlook the incident. The owner lost it. He didn't apologize and instead started yelling at me with an explosive temper, telling me that I complain too much (even though this was the only time I had ever brought anything up,) and refusing to sell me the package. He told me that they were not currently offering it, even though I had just heard him offer it to the last customer who checked out. I told him that I was super disappointed to be treated this way for providing feedback, especially as a long time regular. He told me to make a payment and that he no longer wanted my business. The whole thing was just insane to see unfold. I don't know if it's because I'm female and he's sexist, or if he simply doesn't like having me around because I know some Chinese and can understand the sketchy circumstances around his establishment (his workers have told me that they all live in rooms within the owners home and are treated poorly). Perhaps my presence makes him uneasy, but I've never been treated so horribly. I was stunned, disappointed, and embarrassed to be publicly yelled at. Trust me - the prices are good, but it's not worth supporting such an awful man, and what seems like a very suspicious business. The value and quality of service more than made up for the quirky traits like the lack of frills and the loud, gruff owner/manager. However, today marks the day I will not be returning. Over the past two years, their rates have increased by 50%! What used to be a $50 hour massage is now $75. To top it off, today, I heard a masseuse challenge a client on the tip he had given after a 30 minute massage: Client: keep the rest for yourself. Masseuse: only $3? Client turns around while walking out: what? Masseuse: Only $3? Client: turns and continues walking out. When it was my turn to check out, I paid with credit card. When the tip options were presented, 18% was the opening option. With the bargain prices gone, the value no longer compensates for the quirks. I will really miss it. read more

Permanent Healing Just to add a note, this is the first massage I've ever had with permanent results (with Danny-although they probably all use the same approach.) I feel amazing--never thought I'd feel this good at 65. Danny does not speak English, which is good, because that way I can't try to influence what he does, which would probably lessen the benefit. I've been here many times and most of the time they do a great job. I've found the women to offer a much more enjoyable massage; some of the men work your muscles SO hard that you feel like you got beat with a baseball bat. Not so fun. I gave this only 2 stars because the last few times they've cleaned the floor with bleach right next to me, and there is always somebody smoking in the back...or somewhere. I went in to get 90 min combo with 60 min table and 30 min foot. I asked the lady who checked me in if I could combo that for the 90 min combo price. She said yes. When I check out and pay the lady I asked is nowhere to be found and they wouldn't let me buy the combo. I had to pay for a 60 min and 30 min... it's only a $2 difference but the tax difference was more. My tip was going to be significantly more until they lady wouldn't budge on the charge amount. I also hate when the person who gives the massage just comes back in from their smoke break. It makes the aroma of the room STINK and be less relaxing. Im pretty sure they reuse towels that are on the tables that people lay on and cover with. So it may appear clean, but it's used... if I don't think about it it's fine. Disappointing service. I've been here before and it was wonderful however this time was the opposite. The man behind the front desk was massaging me. He was answering calls non stop. Getting up every few minutes to handle something else and I was cycled through 2-3 other massage therapist. When we was working on me he seemed focused on other things. I visited Massage Oriental on 2/17/2012 for a 20 minute table massage. It's in a great location to stop-in quickly if you're already in the shopping plaza for DSW, Old Navy or T.J. Maxx. The parking is convenient and there are multiple spaces available. The pressure was good and it was surprisingly quiet and relaxing even though it is near the entrance. They masseuse will ask you if you want to pay for more towards the end of the session if but adding the time is more expensive than just requesting it up-front. My only dislike is that the cream they use smells like icy hot (menthol). You may not want to walk around with that fragrance afterwards. read more

I was in a tremendous amount of pain so my grandson googled walk in massage clinics and pulled up this business so off we went. I was very pleased with the whole experience, the therapist was extremely proficient and knowledagable with the massage. The degree of the pain I was in I didn't know if anyone could get me to feeling better, but she did! I will be going back many times. I have Lyme arthritis so when I am extremely active doing a lot of physically demanding work I go into excruciating pain. I don't plan to sit around my life due to the resulting pain, so knowing this wonderful business is there, I will continue to enjoy moving and doing physical work.
