LOVED it. Longer review for those with time to read :) I have been dying to find a place like this near me and stumbled upon it while on vacation. I was visiting North Star with friends and as a group fitness junkie, I signed up for the week-long pass at TMF. I was welcomed warmly by Holly, the co-owner. She gave me the perfect little orientation with zero sales pitch, made me feel right at home, and then she jumped right into teach our class. I took Lower Body Strength, Body Pump, HITT and Core Strength over a few days and wished I could stay longer to try more, including the immersive spin class (think spin bikes in front of a movie screen - how cool). I also did a body composition analysis with Holly and wish I had time to use the infrared sauna. Virginia and Holly taught the classes I took. I really appreciate how much time Virginia spent with me to ensure I was lifting properly during HIIT (which was awesome and challenging!). Everyone was super friendly, including the class regulars. It can be intimidating to walk into a new gym and try to merge into group fitness, but everyone made me feel right at home. I will go back every time I'm in North Lake Tahoe.

First, the studio is great - the room is spacious and clean, and they have a lot of great equipment, things my normal barre class doesn't even use (like these little ball weights, long stretchy bands and small stretchy bands). The people are also very welcoming. The class itself was great - as with all the Barre classes I've done, you work abs, seat, thighs and arms and this class did a great job at all of those, the exercises were just slightly different than I'm used to, but it was quick to pick up and was a nice change. Note to those of us who lives in the flatlands....drink plenty of water. You are in the mountains and you'll dehydrate much quicker than you realize. The first time I did this class, it really wiped me out. I realized later it was that I did not drink enough water with my workout. I highly recommend coming to this studio!

Pros: - the rack room is great…read more- good selection of new equipment - gym area is clean - cheapest gym option in truckee (but that's not saying much) Cons: - equipment/sauna repairs take forever - locker rooms not very clean/well maintained - employees consistently no-show, making the 6am opening extremely unreliable - management seems to prefer being combative with customers over trivial things rather than doing what makes sense (just put a dirty towel receptacle by the exit already) - WAY overpriced, ridiculous fees, horrible guest pass options, and arbitrary restrictions on membership benefits, even though you're paying full price (and then some) for said membership - they unapologetically jump on every opportunity they can to GOUGE you with extra fees, requirements, and irrelevant timelines to initiate/cancel, etc...and they seem almost proud to do so

I found Elemental via a FB group recommendation. The office got me in the same day I called them and I saw Cory. I was in good hands. Cory was professional, knowledgeable and a fantastic chiropractor. He spent an hour working on me, and gave me a good adjustment which helped some tightness relax. He also made some good suggestions on some stretches I could keep up with. I highly suggest this place for anyone in the area or from out of town looking for care. Would go there again when I am in the area.
