The summary is, I have never been so disappointed. Warning, this would be a long read . First of all, I waited a few minutes at the entrance before someone came out to attend to me. I sat there wondering if I was supposed to ring a bell or something. I showed the lady my GC and told her it was for a 1hr massage, but she did not take it to confirm. I told her I wanted a full body massage and gave consent on the areas of my body that could be touched. She asked where I would like them to focus on and I said my lower back and shoulders, but full body massage all the same. She left the GC on the side table where I sat (right by the entry door) and began to usher me in. I walked back to pick up the GC and asked if she didn't need to check it, she said 'we will do so after' . I had a nice cup of tea while waiting, the masseuse came, also very nice and polite, but long story short, it was the worst massage ever. She went hard on certain areas and on other areas, it was like she barely touched me. She did my shoulders back, arms, very light on my calf and heel of my feet. She NEVER touched the back of my thighs or glutes. She asked me to turn over and also worked some more on my shoulders and neck, still never touched my thighs, legs or feet after I turned. There was a chair beside me which she said she would use at some point so I couldn't keep my clothes there, she never used the chair. Soon after, she said something and before I could ask what she said, she was out of the room. It was so abrupt! I laid there confused for a few seconds and then I realized the session was over. She walked out before I could open my eyes or respond to what she said. It was over! Just like that! Half of my body still not touched. Not even my knees. I let her know I was not aware the session was over as I did not hear what she said before leaving the room. She apologized. The lady at the front desk then took my GC and proceeds to tell me I owed a balance of $80 and some change. Saying I had only $39 on the card. I told her I had no intention of paying anything and only came to use what I was gifted, and she should have checked before I started to avoid any confusion. She was apologetic and kept looking around her computer. I almost got fed up and paid but I asked her to look and see if there was some promo or discount when the GC was sold. Because they did write '1 hr massage' on the card. So why should I pay? Well, I was right. It took her a minute but there was a discount and I did not have to pay anything. She apologized. Ok, that's sorted. She asked if I wanted to leave a tip for my masseuse which I reluctantly agreed to despite the poor service because she was nice. She pulls up a profile on the tip machine thing with the photo and name of an entirely different person, and not my masseuse. I asked 'is this so and so?' and she said yes. Mind you, my masseuse was black, and this was a different black lady. They were the only 2 black women amongst all the photos I saw. So I'm guessing, the front desk lady has trouble differentiating between 2 black women? Fair!. I said 'but the name is different, A massaged me and this name says B. She initially insisted it was the same person then decided to take a closer look and lo and behold, it was someone else. If you can't differentiate their faces, their names too? I would have tipped someone who didn't even come to work that day. She apologized again I was going to let it all go and just never return, but the icing on my Massage Envy cake was that I woke up the next morning unable to lift my right hand. My shoulder felt like it had been replaced with metal. It hurt so bad I could not even touch my face to apply lotion with my right hand. I was in so much pain. Luckily it only lasted 2 days. I would have loved to speak with someone about this because I never like to give any business a bad name, I am a small business owner and I know people make mistakes. But judging from the already existing bad reviews, nothing is being done about it.

I called and booked a same day appointment which was super convenient, and the booking was quick and easy. When I got to the location, the lobby was quiet and relaxing. Angela helped me check in and get the pre-massage paperwork filled out. It was done on a clean well functioning iPad. Angela was friendly and did a great job. She offered me the restroom, water, and anything else I needed. I then went to the relaxation room before the massage. I didn't want to take any pictures due to privacy issues but there were several comfortable chairs and the temperature was perfect for Texas summer heat. The TV had a massage envy promo on loop. This was unfortunately the loss of a star. The promo was five minutes long and when it refreshed it was like a dvd player from 2005. Every time it refreshed it was slightly jarring, and it happened often enough I noticed while waiting. My massage therapist was Kimber, and she came to get me from the waiting room immediately (she did clean the room and change linens/sanitize the table) after finishing with her previous client. She was wearing clean scrubs and fresh gloves when she greeted me. Gloves are new in massages to me, but make sense in the COVID era. She brought me into a clean and comfortable room and explained the process to me. I've had many massages before but it's been a couple of years. There was a panic button built into the massage table which is new to me but made sense to me. Kimber also took a few minutes to go over my specific areas of comfort. I'm not shy personally, but I have very specific areas that get tense. I asked her to do neck, shoulders, and lower legs. She asked for pressure, and I said, "firm as possible". She told me to let her know if it was too firm. Over the next hour she dug in to every single knot and point of tension specifically in the spots I cared about. I was trying to get those knots released and dug into, and she was the best therapist I've ever had. She used her elbows and focused on what I needed. I felt awful asking her to do something so physical at the end of her already seven hour shift, but she was phenomenal. I've had surgery on both shoulders and have a lot of tension and scar tissue from that. She was able to loosen and relax both shoulders without ever causing me any pain other than the pain of getting knots ground out. I cannot stress how great Kimber did for what I asked for, I've never had a therapist be that specific. All in all my experience here was excellent. Massage Envy is a chain and that always means certain things. I can only speak to my individual experience with my specific therapist and administrator. Angela was great and Kimber was AMAZING. I highly recommend this location to anyone!

The front desk reassured me that it wasn't a facial -- just a light face massage -- but that turned out to be completely untrue. The experience went downhill immediately. We received almost no instructions about what to do or expect. Once I laid down, my masseuse started working directly on my face without saying a word. She never asked if I was wearing makeup (which I was), and began rubbing and tapping my face in strange circular motions, then applied some unknown substance. I told her to stop and explained that I have allergies and didn't want anything put on my face. Because she didn't speak any English, another staff member had to translate. She stopped briefly, wiped off my face, but then started massaging my face again with the same unknown product. At that point, I was extremely upset and uncomfortable. She also pressed down on my eyelids several times, knocking off some of my lash extensions and even dislodging one of my contact lenses. Afterward, my friends told me they had almost identical experiences. One of them had oil and water get into her eyes, and the masseuse was extremely rough. By the end of the session, all of our faces were burning. I had also added a hot stone massage, which I deeply regretted. It felt awkward and unprofessional -- at one point she just handed me an oily stone to hold for no reason. She kept pulling my hair throughout, and my friend said her stylist didn't even use conditioner, only shampoo, which makes no sense for a "head spa." At the end, the masseuses began hitting the backs of our heads and pounding on our backs and shoulders -- not in a therapeutic way, just harsh and uncomfortable. There were no instructions afterward; we had to figure out ourselves that we were supposed to move for a "blowout," which ended up being a quick, rough blow-dry using cheap Pantene products. To top it off, as soon as the massages were over, the masseuses literally ran out of the building, and the host seemed eager to rush us out as well. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience from start to finish. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously because the lack of communication, professionalism, and basic care was unacceptable.
