Having been a member for many years, the front desk person tried to charge me a 3% fee to buy gift cards on my credit card. I showed her my emails with the Valentines Day specials and there is no mention of an additional fee. There is also no signage at the destination stating the fee so I told her She could not charge it. I had cash to purchase the gift cards, and she said she didn't have any, after telling me before my appointment she did. She tried to give me an "Itemized Receipt" as it was printed on top to give out. So tacky, so I declined. She was not very helpful so I took my cash and left, without purchasing. I have referred so many people to this location, but not anymore. The therapist is wonderful but this is no way to treat a long time and loyal customer. Unfortunately Jackie left town. She will be missed. With the record keeping confusions I experienced, I was ready to close off my membership after 5 years. But since I had some credits to use up, I booked some more massages with a new therapist. Their computer system still has some limitations so I would recommend getting printed copies if you buy extra massages. But the reception staff is great. They are freindly, cheerful, and pleasant. Compared to most reception desk, they are gems. The new therapist I have is an absolute master at diagnosing the source of problems. Through an interview and a hands on examination, she was able to pinpoint the root of some long-running problems I was having. I have never had a therapist diagnose issues so quickly and effectively. After 2 sessions, the problem has markedly improved and continues to. She is able to get deep into muscle tightness and works tirelessly to work out the tension. Well, unfortunately i have to leave a negative review which I really hate to do! All of my visits minus this last one have been great. I had a bad experience with my latest massage whereas i paid for a 90 minute. The therapist was not only cold (personality wise) it was a very bizarre and lackluster massage. She just kept pressing not massaging. I also asked for the focus to be on my back and she didn't do so but instead focused on full body. She also kept doing this very odd shaking of my body parts. I left feeling no relief and was not happy at all. It was also my birthday :( The problem is i sent in an email to massage haven explaining my experience and got no response. Additionally i filled out the survey and yet again received no response even though I detailed my unhappiness. The other massage therapists I've had have been great and the front desk girls are very sweet. Unfortunately it appears their management doesn't really care for their clients which makes me sad. read more

Massage Haven is the worst with gift cards or gift certificates. If you want to give a friend or loved on a spa service, go anywhere but here. I was given several gift cards over the last year and when I tried to use them, the receptionist would take the gift card and send me on my way and by the time I got home, my debit card was charged. One time they used the gift card and charged my card and the person who paid for my gift card. That was nearly $300 in charges for one massage. It resulted in having to fight chargers with Massage Haven and my bank. It turned what was supposed to be a relaxing experience into an inconvenience for me and my family member who was trying to do something nice. I will not be going back and I encourage those who do go to only pay during your service. Do not purchase gift cards. read more

I received a gift certificate for a 1 hour therapeutic massage from work and made an appointment online. It was super easy selecting the time and person I wanted that was available. I made an appointment for 9am and was the first one there since that's when it opens per the times on the door (online it did say an appointment was open for 8:30am so not sure if they are willing to open earlier or not). I walked in and the quietness in their was so beyond soothing. I've never experienced such a quiet environment. I checked in and sat in the comfy cloud like chairs until called back. Cecilia is who I chose for my massage and she was amazing. So much so that I ended up deciding, in my mind-10 minutes in, that I was going to get a membership. She listened to what I was needing and was able to address them. The massage was great and I can't wait to keep going back to get all the knots smoothed out. The only thing I'd say they need to fix is their pamphlets with prices. Member price for a massage membership was $39.99 and when I got my membership the girl scratched that off and said it's been changed to $45. I'd also change the words inside the picture frames that are on the shelves, looked tacky and cheap. read more

I rarely write reviews, however I purchased a membership here last year (2018), I used it once and the massage was great. I realized I unfortunately do not have enough time to use my membership so I had to cancel it. I cancelled it February 4th 2019. They informed me one more payment would come out and it would be done. So my last payment should have been March of 2019. Fast forward to July of this year, going in about 4 times, calling them multiple times and finally talking to THE OWNER (one of them, Dino). I spoke with him in person, he found my cancellation form from February and he refunded me for the months that my membership should have been cancelled, and told me he personally cancelled it. I was okay with everything because Dino fixed the mistake, and refunded me and most importantly, cancelled it himself, so I would have no future problems... or so I thought... As it is now August of 2019 and I just got another charge on my card from massage haven. Super frustrating, and a waste of my time because now I have to go back in and talk with him personally (since i can never get an owner on the phone). So if you do come here, don't get a membership!! It has been such a headache and a waste of time for the initial ONE massage I ended up getting throughout the membership. Smh read more

I showed up 5 minutes early to my 8pm appointment. After checking in i proceeded to sit in the lobby for 15 minutes, wondering if i had been forgotten, and listening to 2 employees have a conversation about negative energy and pre workouts. Meanwhile one of their clients, was waiting for their session to begin because she was previously called back before this 10 minute conversation began. At 8:15 pm, my massage therapist made it out to the lobby, and said she would be right with me. When i pay for an hour massage, i expect the appointment to begin on time and last an hour.This isnt the first time i have had experiences like this with Massage Haven. I was checking out different options for massage here on Yelp. I think it is extremely tacky for a business to post a sign listing tip amounts as a "MINIMUM"!! I went elsewhere today and there was a similar sign suggesting tip amounts and it stated "recommended tip 30 minutes - $6.00 and up" (etc based on time involved). Much more classy. I don't need anyone to tell me I need to tip a certain amount AT A MINIMUM. I will tip what I feel is deserved and I will tip well if it is deserved. I tipped $10.00 on a 30 minute service because it was deserved, and it was my choice to do so. read more

He kept pushing on specific spots like he thought they were pressure points but they were not...I feel like I walked out with the same tension and pains I had walking in. I'm going to discourage anybody from doing business with Massage Haven after my experiences with them over the last 15 months. I had been a member for seven years and when everything closed downforce two months in early 2020 for the pandemic, they continued to charge members while they were closed. I tried getting in touch with someone about this. I eventually got a hold of the owner and told him I didn't want to be charged when the business was closed. He agreed and I thought that was the end of it. They eventually reopened and I scheduled an appointment. When It was time to check out they told me that I owed full price, not the member pricing. I told the receptionist I was a member and she told me my account was suspended and that I had to reactivate my membership to get member pricing - the caveat being that I was now three months behind on my dues and had to pay them or I would have to pay non-member pricing. I scoffed and the receptionist agreed to give me member pricing but I needed to talk to the accounts person to try to fix this. She gave me the number and I called and got her voicemail. I left a message explaining the situation and hoped to hear back. Unfortunately she called me back when I was in a work meeting so I couldn't take a call and she left me a voice mail. She repeated what the receptionist had told me. At this point I was getting frustrated so I emailed them with the address on their website and which went to the owner, Dino. We exchange emails and he finally agreed to reactivate my membership without having to pay my dues for the time they were closed. But there was another problem. Perhaps it was due to the pandemic but I found it difficult to schedule an appointment unless it was more than a week or two out. Not particularly convenient. Being a member means you get discounted massages but they bill you every month, whether you use them or not. Having difficulty getting an appointment means to me being a member doesn't make sense anymore. I did continue to book appointments here, but nowhere near as often and I paid full price for them. The non-member price for a 1-hour massage was now up to $65 and I had three massages over a span of several months. Unfortunately many of the best therapists had left the company and the three massages I had were pretty sub-par. With a tip each one came out to $90 which just wasn't worth it to me. But what really was the last straw for me was that they would occasionally send out emails about sales. If you're a member the sale price is the same as your member price so they are pointless. However, if you're not a member it's a good deal a but it's cash-only. I got one of these emails about a Memorial Day sale on the morning of Thursday, May 27. It had been several months since my last appointment and my back really needed some work so I called as soon as I saw it. The receptionist said there were no openings until Memorial Day at 9:00 am. There were two therapists available and I said I had no preference since I hadn't seen either of them before. This morning (Saturday) I get a call from them saying that there was a "glitch" in the system and the person they had scheduled me with actually didn't work there yet; her first day was the following Monday. They had no other openings until later in the week. The problem with that is that the sale ends Monday. Booking an appointment after that means I'd have to pay full price. I suppose I could have bought a gift certificates and still got the sale price but then I'd be back to the original problem of getting an appointment. I told the receptionist I did not want to pick another date and ended the call. This was the third time they canceled an appointment I had made, for various reasons. Unacceptable. After eight years and several dozen massages, I'm not coming back. There are at least three other massage studios nearby I can go to. I chose Massage Haven because they were not a big chain (they have a second location in north Scottsdale) and their pricing was better then the competition, but things have gone downhill and it just isn't worth it anymore. read more

This is the way to operate a massage service. Clean and classy is what you'll get at Massage-Haven. Some places charge more than neccesary for massage but not here. Easy automatic monthly membership fee is the way to go for regular appointments. Massage-Haven has very competitive rates! They have many therapists to choose from but I can only recommend Stephany, a small Filipino lady that has a wonderful personality and the training to give you what you need. Yes, custom massage. Yesterday I received the best massage of my life!!! I have had 100's before. I love this place and have been going there since they opened. Danielle was my therapist and she intuitively knew what I needed. I have sustained back and neck injuries and I am a triathlete so I punish my body and to have someone know where to go hard and when to lighten up without a word leaves me speechless. I have had 20+ massages there and only once did I receive one that I was not too pleased. They were new and Danielle says I am like massaging a brick wall! Been to just about every massage place in this area and they are by far the best. Was a member at another local spa but always had a hard time getting appointments that weren't at least a month out. Tried this place and was thrilled to find out they had convenient online booking and enough therapists to be able to get appointments easily. The price is very comparable as well. I'd highly recommend becoming a member! I usually come in about every 2 weeks. I've had at least 7 therapists there and all were good. Suzanne is by far my favorite and she gives an amazing massage! The massages are great but be careful scheduling around a holiday. Everytime I schedule an appt around a holiday they call and cancel. I schedule my appts weeks out and they either call me the night before my appt or this time they called me an hour before my appt. So frustrating. This place really surprised me. So peaceful and relaxing inside, the private rooms were excellent, the beds even have a heater if you want that option, and my masseuse was great. Seriously, Im surprised it can be this good for so little cost. Will definitely be coming back. The two downsides to my experience were 1) i waited half an hour for my 6oclock appointment, and 2) I was quoted $25 per person over the phone since we had a large party, but when we went to pay, they charged $30 per person. I have mixed feelings about this business model but overall I like it. They have good staff that do a good job, and the prices are much better than every other place I've been to in the area (because I buy a package). The facility is immaculate, inviting, relaxing, and parking is generous. They've had to have one of those signs to educate consumers about customary tipping, and I can see why - because their massages are so affordable (if people are going off a %, then it's not as much of a tip). I'm worried this place will do for massages what supercuts did for haircuts. Yeah the lower prices are nice at first, but longterm I fear what will happen to the industry. read more
