I have been coming here for years. The staff is always very kind and accommodating. You do need to schedule several weeks out but if in a pinch they sometimes have next day availability if someone cancels. I came here for a single massage six or seven months ago and was asked if I would like to sign up for a monthly program. I said sure, but never returned. After six months, I called to cancel the plan or whatever it was, as I had not put it to use even once. I wasn't upset at all. It was my fault for not following up one way or another, but the receptionist said, "We don't usually do that. I'll have to have the manager call you." Huh? The manager never called. They received $500 from me for literally nothing, and when I called to cancel (I did NOT sign a contract) they refused. I had to put a stop payment on their charges and they're still texting me saying my payment is late. Tacky, unprofessional, and unethical. I had been looking forward to spoiling myself with a massage after a taxing work weekend. I went into my appointment with a 3/10 back pain, was able to move well, and did not cause more pain when I would stretcher or bend down to pick something up. I've had massages in the past and like when they are a firmer or deep tissue massage, I always feel rejuvenated afterward. But once I laid down on the table, my masseuse Mr. Takaedza, was very timid and too light of touch for what I had requested. I made sure he was aware I had booked a firm massage and had a focus on my lower back. No time was spent on my lower back and minimal pressure was used during the hour experience. I checked in with him to ask if he was using more pressure as I barely felt anything and never received a response. After my massage was done I attempted to stand up off of the table and was barely able to move due to intense pain. I was slow to get dressed and he knocked on the door to make sure I was okay, I replied that my back was spasming and felt much worse than when I walked in. I heard no response and continued to get dressed painfully. I was able to hobble out of the room and down to the front desk where I informed them I was in more pain now and the only response I received was that "was normal and you will feel great within the hour. A firm or deep tissue massage makes it feel worse before it feels better." I can understand being sore after a deep-tissue massage, but the lack of pressure would not lead me to call this a deep-tissue or firm massage. I am very disappointed in the amount of money I spent to walk out of the location in more pain than I entered (7/10 spasming pain). I am a firefighter/EMT and I had to find coverage for my shift since I am unable to safely pull a victim or coworker out of a fire or help someone off the ground. Would not recommend Massage envy white marsh or any of their locations. Waste of money and time! read more

I had a wonderful massage today with Nancy. She has strong hands! All Massage Envy locations have the same decor, policies, and appointment scheduling procedures. I had to provide a credit card number prior to scheduling the appointment. ME has a monthly massage program. Clients enter a 6 or 12 month contract and pay a $70 monthly fee. Basically, a discounted massage for being a loyal customer. Not a bad deal if you enjoy massages. I was greated promptly and completed a few forms regarding medical history and areas that I would to be addressed during the massage. I assume that client medical information is not available to all locations. Standard massage room with dimmed lighting and relaxing music. This location was very clean. The restroom was clean as well and deodorized with a nice scent. I greatly enjoyed my massage and will definitely return. Ample parking. read more

I cannot wait for my credits to be used up at Massage Envy, so that I can cancel my membership. I am a member at the White Marsh location, but I also have gone to the Timonium location. Today I called the White Marsh location to try and book a massage for someone and transfer my credit. Kiera who answered the phone was rude, snippy, and left me less than satisfied with the customer service that she gave. The Timonium location is notorious for calling me the day of my service, to tell me that there's been an emergency and the person who was going to be giving me a massage or facial can no longer do so. I would rather pay a few extra dollars for my services and have them be professional and that is what I intend to do! read more

I booked a massage for health reasons. I exercise daily and massage helps in recovery. I wasted time out of my day to go to massage envy. When I arrived at my appointment I was refused service because I didn't want to wear a mask. I was not even informed of "owners" mask mandate when booking, and their is no other illegal mask mandate in place at this time. This is discrimination and disgusting. My doctor recommended massages as a part of my current treatment plan (yes, really!) I picked ME because I was familiar with the name. I just went for my first session today and they definitely live up to the hype. Every single staff member I encountered was courteous and attentive. I've gotten massages at other places for around the same price, but never have I been so pampered. They let me customize my experience, they offered me free drinks while I was waiting (although the wait time was very short). Julie was amazing, very gentle but effective, and also very thorough. I loved the oils I chose and she even gave me the rest of the bottle to take home. After my massage, I was offered a membership and Shawn the associate took the time and explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. I signed up for a membership and I felt confident about it. Also I LOVED the amethyst stones in the bathroom. read more

I had a 90-min massage with Jey, and it was amazing. She relieved stress from muscles I didn't even know I had. She was very methodical (what she did on one side, she did the exact same on the other). She listened to where I asked her to focus and spent the perfect amount of time there, and she was sensitive with my injured arm. She also incorporates a massage of the head, which many therapists don't do, and that was an immediate relaxer. The front desk lady could have been more warm and welcoming (it seemed like she didn't enjoy her job very much), but this doesn't take away from my massage. The room's floor wasn't the cleanest, but again, this doesn't detract from the quality of the massage. read more

Do not go here. I've had many massages at this location. While most were decent, my most recent visit has me regretting everything. I had a massage with Kenneth and to put it bluntly, I feel sexually assaulted. He tucked the blanket too high on my hip, ultimately exposing the majority of my bottom. He then massaged underneath the blankets, beyond where they covered my body - in other words, too high on my leg, almost touching my private areas. When this happened, I was shocked. Every other massage I had from Massage Envy stopped at the blanket line at the finger tip mark on your hip and was very conservative. Kenneth was not. I honestly felt exposed and embarrassed. He also decided - without asking me first - that he was going to stretch my muscles. In doing so, he sat me up and exposed the entirety of my back and some of my bottom. In addition, he did not ask of any injuries. In stretching my back, he hurt my shoulders - both of which need joint fushion because of a previous injury. Ultimately, I'm disgusted. Both in the establishment for not training Kenneth properly, and Kenneth for being so intrusive and inconsiderate. To be completely honest, I'm considering legal action. The only thing holding me back is that I have no proof other than the fact that I feel completely and entirely violated. Never again will I go to any Massage Envy. read more

I was away from my home and was pleased that there was a Massage Envy located nearby in White Marsh while I was traveling for work. I am pregnant and was in need of a prenatal massage. I scheduled an appointment and then on the day of my appointment, I accidentally went to the wrong location, as my GPS took me to the Bel Air location instead. I was still early for my appointment and called immediately to let the staff know of the error and they charged me for the missed appointment anyway, refusing to understand my mistake, given that I was coming from out of town. I've been a loyal membef for exactly 10 years. Even chose to keep paying during the Covid period when they had to close because I wanted to help keep them open. Pre-covid this review would have been a glowing 5 stars. Not anymore. Staff and therapists are great. Location is clean, pleasant and convenient. As a local business owner, I understand staff shortages. But you are obviously continuing to SELL more memberships than you are able to support. This has resulted in all members competing for time in a drastically reduced schedule of 10am-6pm (last appointment is 6pm). When I am in pain and open my ME app to attempt to schedule there is ZERO availability for AT LEAST 3 WEEKS OUT.- usually 4 weeks. This is at all the Baltimore area locations. When I finally find a slot, I then have to take time out of my busy work day to go get a massage then return to work. Not ideal. I have a 2nd home in Louisiana and when I'm there I have no problem getting an open slot within 2-3 days MAX. That's the way it used to be here in MD. PLEASE STOP SELLING MORE THAN YOU CAN SUPPORT!! Thats what most businesses, including myself, have had to do. I lost service technicians so I had to turn away a lot of customers in order to maintain a level of business that we could still support without losing our hard-earned reputation. Your reputation and that of Massage Envy is now in jeopardy. I will not continue to pay monthly to your local franchise. I will be forced to end my membership or transfer my home location-and loyal monthly payments- to a location that can better accomodate me. Please consider the needs of your members when making business decisions. Reputation and customer satisfaction are paramount to your continued success. read more

I have been with ME for almost a year, it has been great for me most of the time. I have found the scheduling of appointments to be a problem for me, I have been cancelled several times which is a issue for me , they don't give you a credit for this cancellation but if I cancel which happen maybe twice I was threatened with ME charging me, so I pleaded with them. They take their money out of my account every month on time, but every time I call they don't have any availability. I have more credits with them than appointments. This is the White Marsh location. I just called again today for an appointment for Thursday or Friday, Saturday and they are booked. My term expires in March will I be able to receive any type of refund? read more

I received a 60 minute full-body massage from Kelly with the clarifying CyMe boost and it was outstanding! She used perfect pressure, hit all the right places, worked out all of my knots and tight muscles and left me feeling magnificent. This is a very professional place where the person giving the massage knows what they are doing. They ask what areas to focus on. They try to make you feel good by working all the areas that need working on. The whole area is very clean. The room where you get your massage is clean. The bathrooms are clean. This was my first time at this location but I have been a massage envy member for 5 years. I had a 90 minute prenatal massage booked, for called 3 hours before saying the therapist was sick but I could come for 60 minutes with someone else. What a waste of my time. Jay BARELY touched me. I seriously didn't even know if she was touching me sometimes. I asked 4 times for more pressure, it never came, by the 4th time she said "I'm not going to give you any pressure because you're pregnant". WTF. I have had other prenatal massages that were great, never had a problem, this was absolutely ridiculous. I came because I am 30 weeks pregnant and have back and foot pain, what I got was a waste of time. Do not go here for a pregnant massage unless all you want is to lay on a bed and have someone graze you with their finger tips. No pregnant woman wants that, we want relief from our aching muscles.
