Did not receive all the treatment that was shown when booked online.... that is frustrating! The girl was nice and very knowledgeable but definitely not worth $120... and if you think your getting it for $70 THINK AGAIN because Lubbock does not honor the online pricing. Best thing to do is probably call them before booking to get accurate pricing so you are not surprised like I was when they gave me my total. I asked about the online pricing and was told they cannot do anything about the webpage being wrong. Employees don't know how to help and management does not care about issues so maybe just go else where that you are treated better and not mislead on pricing. IF you can get in, the right therapist is great, just don't expect them to be there in six months. Forget about getting a facial- after they lost Perscilla (spelling?) months ago, they have yet to replace her. Management is atrocious, Brenda literally sits there and is rude to customers or just declines to be helpful outside the VERY basics. Loyalty doesn't matter to them, they just want the $$$. They now are trying to push clients to confirm appointments 48 hours in advance, even though MEs website cites 24 hour cancelation policy. They don't open until 10 am and are NEVER open on Sundays, unlike other MEs. Bolsters are shedding and falling apart, dirt is collected around corners and base of walls, trash can in the bathroom doesn't even function right. Cleanliness is not a priority, but money sure is. Be prepared to book weeks in advance for a good therapist... but again, the good ones seem to all leave after six months or so. Interestingly enough, the common theme is lack of decent management/owner relationships to the therapists. Midland is owned and managed by the same people, so no difference there. Also, the manager is going back and forth enjoying her hotel rooms and split time, even though other people have applied to manage at the locations. read more

I canceled my membership in September and they continue to charge my account (3 months later) despite multiple calls and emails asking them to stop. I have asked to speak to the manager or owner, but have yet to speak to anyone other than the front desk help. This location handled a group of 30 for massages on Friday. They closed to the public for our group and even put out refreshments and snacks. This was a celebration for medical staff. Most had never had a massage before. Every staff member raved about how great their massage felt and was so happy. Thanks to ME staff for helping make this happen! So well done! read more

I got an hour long session, I showed up 20 minutes early. He started 10 after the hour and ended 10 minutes before the hour was up. I told him and filled out all the areas I wanted- he did not do my feet at all. I signed up for a DEEP tissue and with the exception of my neck all he did was rub lotion on my skin. It was not deep at all. He tried to hold a conversation with me and I personally don't want to talk while I'm getting a message. I know everyone is different about that but I don't think talking about school while you're digging into my neck is particularly easy. I am not from Lubbock but have been to many different massage envy spas and this was just tragic. The bathrooms were disgusting, like they haven't been cleaned in weeks, and the waiting area needed to be cleaned as well. If you need a massage and your in Lubbock, wait until you're not. read more

Massage Envy continues to fraudulently charge my credit card, months after cancellation. I am not under contract. I put a vendor block on my card in April and had $210 in charges reversed (Jan, Feb, Mar membership fees). Yesterday, they fraudulently claimed to my credit card company that I came into the store and authorized the charge of $140, so they manually entered my credit card number, to get around the block. I have not stepped foot in Massage Envy since December 17, 2022. They claimed in March that they can't cancel the membership or even look at my account unless I pay them an additional $140 for 2 months that they didn't cancel it, for the monthly membership credit. Do I get to use those credits? Nope. The credit goes away upon cancellation. I LOVE Priscilla and Jodi and all the other therapists that have provided excellent service for 6+ years. But don't go to Massage Envy because they apparently keep your credit card information and who knows how many employees have access to that information. read more

Can't give zero stars so 1 star it is. Signed up for a membership and all was going well. Great therapists at the location at the time. Booked my appointments 2-3 months out as I know appointments 4pm and later are hard to get. Got a call at the end of September that they need to reschedule. Call to reschedule and find out they now have zero therapists working past 4pm even though their stated hours are until 9pm. No going on the 3rd month of getting charged $70 with no way to schedule any services. Desk workers said only the owner can cancel and would be contacted. Have called several times and emailed with zero communication from management or owner. Corporate says they don't have control of the franchise owners. This business location is truly a fraudulent with their business practice. Do not get a membership or purchase gift cards for anyone who cannot make an appointment at 4pm or later. Since I am not getting any resolution I am now filing a complaint with both the BBB and the Texas Attorney General. read more

I purchased a year membership, paid in full on the day of purchase, as a gift. I have now been charged for 4 months ($280) for a membership I do not own because my card was kept on file and added to person's account the gift went to. I made it clear my intention was to make a one time purchase of this gift that was not for me and I would not have anything else to do with it. Yet my card is now a part of someone's account and they wont remove my card without the other person's request. Yes, you heard that right, they will not stop using MY card unless the other person cancels their membership or updates card information. When I contacted Massage Envy they said I signed a contract (not sure what kind because I do not have a membership) and that this is what I agreed to with that signature. From the start it was clear I was making a one time payment and my card should have never been kept on file or added to someone else account which now depends on their goodwill to fix. They will not refund my money and suggested I try to get my money back from the person with the membership. I have seen numerous other reviews about people having issues cancelling their memberships and still being charged. I would stay far away this place. read more

If I could give negative stars I would! I had an appointment set up at Massage Envy, only I got told the wrong date. I didn't get an appointment confirmation call the day before like they are supposed to do and they called me the next day saying I had missed the appointment and they would be charging me a 100% no show fee of $55. It was COMPLETELY and totally their fault. My last and final time to go in, I left with bruises all on my neck (I do not bruise easily and I told the guy all throughout the appointment that it was too much pressure.) He also smelled like a cigarette which is disgusting and shouldn't be allowed in that type of place of employment. Not to mention, every time you go in they are always pressuring you to get the $65 - per month membership (with a "free" massage for $45 anytime you want more than one in a month). Literally, by far the WORST massage envy I have ever gone to. The masseuses even hate it (I had gone through 3 different girls in my 3 months as a member!!). It is not a peaceful environment at all. Also, the receptionists are not kept up to date with the contracts and rules of the contract. I had ended up moving (which breaks the contract), and was still charged for an additional month. But I was told that I could go in at any time after that to redeem my massage or I could transfer it to someone else since I had already paid the $45 fee. I even asked if I could use it 2 months later (since I knew I would be in town again soon), and the lady said, "Of course! Just keep your card so we can pull up your file". Guess what? That was a lie. I had to speak to the manager about it and he wasn't even the least bit helpful or concerned. Seriously, the rudest man I have ever met. And he's running a place that is supposed to be relaxing?! He told me that I could take my business elsewhere - which I had already done, but I was just trying to get that last massage I was promised. Do not go here. You should just find a nice small massage shop that is reasonable and understanding rather than one like this. I have been to several Massage Envy locations back in OC, Ca. So my husband bought a very generous gift certificate from here when we moved. I requested a deep tissue, they assigned me Spring. I was greeted with a very warm welcome, they treated me with kindness and respect. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. They took the time to find out what my needs were. I was very impressed with massage (I have had good ones and really bad ones), this was a really good one. I have been going for treatment once a week and am already checked in by the time I walk in, always offered water and never kept waiting. I am happy to say that it seems very important to them that the massages are helping and I am happy to say that they are. I see improvement in the nerve damage. Not as good as I expected. My schedule was set up over the phone but the requests I made weren't relayed to the massage therapist. I needed the prenatal massage. My therapist (Heather I believe) came in 10min after my appt time even though I arrived 15min early. The massage was just ok. She focused on one spot even though I specified my areas of pain. If I could give a negative rating I would. I was a member for 2 years and had to cancel my membership due to moving for work. I was told I would have 30 days to use my remaining accrued credits and when I tried to set up an appointment I was told I lost those credits with the cancellation- which would be umderstandable if I hadn't double checked with 3 different front desk workers about that issue. When I kept saying it didn't make sense and that was not told to me from the beginning the manager on the phone was rude and snippy (Brooke). Her uncle is the owner of the Lubbock franchise and I asked her to have him call me to which she replied he was not available. I said that is fine just please have him call me and she said ok, bye. This was the worst massage I have ever got! Rude people, even ruder management. I have never felt worse than when I went into a massage until I went here. I am pregnant and the lady had the nerve to say oh you don't look pregnant to me, even though I'm 18 weeks and clearly showing. My dad had given me a gift card, and when I gave them the name he put it under they looked at me like I was crazy even though when I called they said they had it on file. The receptionist went back to get the manager Beverley who I heard talking about it, clearly claiming I must be lying about it. Finally when they got it resolved they still charged me a ten dollar service fee not including gratuity. The woman who gave me a massage was terrible. I could have gotten a better massage from my cat. I literally was bored and desperately ready to leave halfway through. While I was dealing with the gift card issue I heard another client complaining saying she would never come back. The manager Beverley even argued with and yelled at her employee right in front of me. TOTALLY unprofessional. I want you to know that I had a great experience and cant believe that The Manager was there that late. Most are from 9 to 5. But she was helping the person at the counter with my purchase. I don't know if she was there for training the associate or what, but she was helping the girl understand and know how to sell the service, I don't know if I would have bought a membership if not for her, She was very straight forward and said it like it is, and for that reason I bought a membership. Her honest about the memberships and her tone gives you no choice but to buy. LOL That's a good thing. A great atmosphere I'm sorry I'm so bad with names, but had a wonderful message.
