I will not be using Massage Envy again. I did not have a good experience at this location. It should have been an overall relaxing experience but the front desk girl Olivia made the experience very unpleasant and unprofessional along with poor management. You also are not getting what you paid for. You might only get 30 minutes out of your 50 minute massage if you are lucky and it is always rushed? Not relaxing at all. I got a gift certificate for my birthday so I had to try this place out. I asked what I could get for the cost of the gift certificate and they said massages start at $75. So, I booked a massage. Later when I was there I saw that they offer half an hour stretch therapy sessions that would have been a much lower cost. When I arrived the front attendant was very nice, she was busy cleaning and offered water. I booked a 9:00 a.m. session, got there 15 minutes early, but the masseuse did not come get me from the waiting room until 9:05, and we did not start until 9:10. She ended at 9:59. So I had a 49 minute session but was charged 60 minutes. I even could have let that slide, but it was just a horrible massage. There was no technique, she just rubbed in the same motion repetitively and continually. Just rubbing. No techniques with the fingers or knuckles or kneading or anything. Just the same flat-handed rubbing. Super boring and not relaxing... It was a little painful after a while, and she thought that my shoulder was super tight but was really just rubbing my bone. The front desk attendant was very nice, but did not know what to do when I said that we started late and did I still have to pay for 60 minutes. She said sorry and went into a sales pitch, offering me a membership. I thought that was funny. I definitely would not pay $75 a month to get a massage from one of these people. Been coming here for a long time and my massage therapist Jodi is great - she is really fantastic. However, yesterday, in the middle of my massage, some random man, speaking loudly as if not in a quieted client area at all, walked right into my massage room with me on the table getting my massage. I have never had something like this happen and it never occurred to me it was even possible. Very unsettling - ruined my massage yesterday and when I notified the front desk staff they were just rather meh about it... Oh. Wow. Sorry. So, how will you be paying for your hour and half today? With one of the extras on your account? That's it?!?! Unbelievable. I don't feel safe here anymore. I was given a massage as a gift and took advantage of the opportunity while on vacation. It was a pretty standard massage. Pressure was fine. I would have preferred the Massuese not talk so much about her life. I told her I wanted to relax and listen to the music, but she didn't catch the hint. More than anything the reception stood out. Not sure what is going on with this location. Have been a ME member for almost 10 years but nothing as bad as this. Had GREAT experiences with Massage Envy Jupiter - East. Then it closed and got consolidated with this location. The front desk service at this location is an absolute mess. I booked a couples massage (in person) and when i got there, they had double booked the room so no couples massage for us. The next time i came the therapist i had specifically booked with wasn't there and they didn't bother to call me to tell me ahead of time. Wound up with a therapist who couldn't have cared less and gave me a completely lame massage. Its definitely not a lack of staffing. They usually have three (3!) people at the desk. They just haven't seemed to have figured out how to book reservations and honor them! The last thing you want when going to your massage is to leave aggravated but unfortunately that has become the norm for me at this location. I have been a Massage Envy Member for years. Getting several massages per month. Recently moved to Jupiter and wanted to get a massage so I booked one at this location that is new to me. Well, I will not go back there and here is why: Lady over the phone was really pleasant, not so much in person. They seemed unwelcoming to the new client. They made me feel like a number at the DMV. Next!!! Then there is the male masseuse I got, oh Lord... He didn't stop yawning the entire time. The whole 60 minute massage...yawing over and over again. Cracked his fingers, all ten of them all throughout the massage. Specially when his forearm was on my back and his hands were right by head. It was loud and very unsettling. Then, within 15 minutes of starting the massage and cracking his fingers constantly, he farted! A loud fart! OMG!!! Thank goodness it didn't smell!!! I was stunned and I know he was too because he stopped massaging me. Quickly recovered and continued the massage. I was so shocked that didn't know what to do and I felt bad and so unsettled that I didn't want to say anything to embarrass him. But I was ready to get up from that table. Needless to say I was very uncomfortable and unhappy!!! He cut corners wherever he could. Not once asked me if I was okay or comfortable or if I wanted heat on the table or if the pressure he was applying was good. Masseuses usually clean your feet or arms with a warm towel at the end of the massage. He just told me there was a towel in the counter for me to do it if I wanted to and walked out of the room. The place is uncared for and unwelcoming and i feel the staff is highly unprofessional. They were all three of them at the counter eating their açaí bowls when I walked out and not one of them asked how my massage was. I will never go back there again. read more

I went to return a face cream that I never used. The lady who received the cream instead of giving me a credit made another charge on my card. A week later I saw that charge on my bank account and I called 3 times and she said the supervisor will call you. I ended up having to go to the store and the same lady apologized and told me: I will refund the money and credit your card and she said she did once and for the 2nd credit she said : I need the original card that you used to buy the cream. I did not have the card with me and we agreed to give her the number on the phone. For a third time, lady debited my card instead of crediting it. The third transaction was voided by the supervisor but she never refunded me the second debit. I called the supervisor and now she is not answering me the phone calls nor my emails. They obviously don't care about the customer and still owe me money!!! Don't ever go to this store. read more

I've been a member for over three years. The massages are fine, the front desk is kind of snotty. However, I am so angry at how difficult they are making it to cancel my membership. I was told up front that I can cancel anytime with 30 days notice. Now that I'm trying to cancel I am getting a total run around. Only the Manager can process a cancellation apparently, and she either "isn't available" or on the phone. When I go down there she is not in. The front desk people are like robots programmed to keep saying "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do". This has been going on for some time now, and in the meantime they keep charging my credit card. This is very frustrating. I don't have time to keep running down there and calling (she never calls back). It is definitely a scam. Although Jane gives a wonderful facial, the front desk makes you feel like you're in Walmart. Although THEY rescheduled my appointment the previous week, I was informed once my facial was done that this was the last day of my contract so I would not be able to get my last facial, no extensions, no refunds. Had they told me any time in, say the 12 visits or 13 reminder phone calls, or even the rescheduling phone call that I needed to use the treatment before that date, I could have used it and they would have saved a customer. Once we get there, we find out the parent needs to be in the room with children under 15. I have been a member of this particular branch for over 10 years yet, I rarely if ever book appointments at this ME and I avoid it at all costs because they are historically incompetent and dreadful. Thinking I might give them another chance (as I live in Jupiter), I called and asked for a deep tissue massage, for which the desk personal listed all the therapists who were available, stating that each were qualified to perform the deep tissue service. In fact, one of those therapists the desk person listed is an acquaintance of mine who has told me unequivocally that she does NOT do deep tissue. I chose a therapist I did not know, taking a chance that she had the the ability to perform the service I requested. The day of the massage....the therapist comes to bring me in to the room 8 minutes after the appointment was supposed to begin and announces she does not perform deep tissue. I lay there for about 10 minutes as the therapist argued with me about the nuances of deep tissue massage verses sports massage as she basically rubbed a little oil on my back and at that point, I decided it was time to go and I got off the table and walked out the door. Afterwards, when I contacted the manager whom I have discovered through some investigation is not a massage therapist herself, also debated me offering to put my acquaintance on the phone who does not perform deep tissue massage to tell me that she does. Just ludicrous and unprofessional! The manager is a LIAR who is more concerned with booking appointments than she is with pairing clients with the most appropriate therapist. For this, and many other incidences like it, I will not be returning to the Jupiter Massage Envy and I will continue instead with the branch I frequent nearby in North Palm Beach who respects and appreciates their customers. read more

I told my brother and his fiance that I would buy them massages as a Christmas gift while we were all on vacation at my parents house. They looking online and found this place which had a coupon. They both were very pleased with their massages, however the reception and customer service out front were very rude and made the whole experience very stressful. First off, for a 9:00 appt, they called very irritated at 9:01, as the two were walking in, making sure they were on their way. Then, instead of doing this after, they hand them their paperwork to fill out and, again, not very nicely, say "Just so you know, this is cutting into your massage time". Furthermore, they offer coupons online for $10 off the massage which expired September 2012 and they presented the coupons before the massage and the receptionist immediately said they were expired, which it clearly wasn't. She then turned to her coworker and said "There must be some way around this" in which she proceeded to say "it says subject to change. We are not accepting this." These receptionists represent this establishment and completely ruined the entire experience for both of them. We all feel bad for the wonderful masseuses behind the scenes who are being misrepresented up front. read more

I had a great massage (by Victor - highly recommended) and an equally good experience with the staff out front. I had previously been to a massage envy in Tallahassee for my neck and shoulder pain which really helped. Thought I would try this location while home from school. The therapist, Shawna, asked what area I needed addressing and I specifically said to focus on my neck and shoulders. She even asked me which spot in particular bothered me the most which I identified. I also agreed to a "heat treatment" which supposedly would help loosen up my muscles so the therapist "wouldn't have to massage so hard" (this was what the receptionist said). Come to find I end up getting a very light full body massage. What little attention I did get to my neck and shoulders was extremely brief and did little to alleviate my pain. The "heat treatment" was literally icy hot applied right at the end of my treatment and cost $25 extra which I feel scammed by. I was hoping this would be applied and then the muscle pain addressed which is what I was led to believe would happen. Unfortunately $105 was spent on what was indeed a relaxing experience but did almost nothing to improve my pain. Another thing I noticed is when I stood up to get dressed I had 5 minutes left of my 60 minute massage. May be picky but if I'm paying for 60 minutes I'd like the full time...... read more

Quite a disappointing experience. I won a gift card for a free one-hour massage from a charity fundraiser I attended. I scheduled the appointment, and even provided my gift card number on the phone to the receptionist to guarantee my appointment. Upon arrival, I was advised that my gift card massage would only be usable if I joined as a member. I explained that I was not advised of any of this when booking, and that - being a personal that rarely gets massages - would have no use in a monthly massage club. I was then treated in a very curt and forward way by the staff that simply said that if I don't join as a member I would need to pay an additional $29 plus gratuity for me so called "free gift massage". I was so upset that I walked out and contacted the charity the next day to return the card, but also advised that maybe the charity would want to support some local therapists or spas rather than one that has deceitful practices and poor customer service. Saddening, because I have heard that many of the therapists there are great and I was looking forward to a great massage. Poor management. read more
