I had to cancel an appointment due to a family emergency, I called last night at 11:30 to cancel a 12:30 appointment today - so I gave 18 hours notice with a message explaining the cancellation. I expected to call back and reschedule when we were back to normal our normal schedule, but instead, I got a nasty phone call and a bill for $50 for a late cancellation. I've never canceled with them with less than 24-hours notice before, although I have rescheduled a few appointments as I've needed to flex for work (and also had a few of my appointments canceled or rescheduled at the last minute as my aesthetician had some family emergencies she had to attend to.) 18-hours notice is decent chunk time, and I'd expect more grace for a returning customer who was having a hard time. I'm sad because I really liked Julie - I'll see if she works in other spas because I don't want to miss her services because of the business owner's stringency.

LKN Massage has a simple, utilitarian interior. Their massage rooms are larger than most and comfortable. They are one of the few places that use massage lotion (not oil), so you are not left with lots of excess oil to transfer to your clothes when you are done. Nice! While Heather specializes in neuromuscular and deep tissue massages, she did a great job giving me a light, relaxing Swedish massage. Therapists have different styles, and Heather's is one of my favorites. She spends extra time on your arms, hands, and especially your feet, forgoing the face and hair (which I never like because it makes my hair greasy). I was totally relaxed after my 90-minute massage! It is beautifully decorated and had great relaxing vibes. Phyllis, my massage therapist performed a very soothing and relaxing 80 minute deep tissue massage. I legit fell asleep 3 times and woke myself up with snores LOL. I didn't even realize I was falling asleep!!! This was such a treat. Everyone I encountered was super nice and helpful. I only had 2 complaints about my experience: one was the massage technique wasn't my favorite. There was a lot of long slow motions, and maybe that's what a deep tissue massage is, so no knock to my massage therapist (she was very firm just like I like), I was just hoping for more massaging than slow rubbing. But she was great! My other complaint was that the waiting area called "The Sanctuary" was so peaceful...until a man in only a rob walked in, shortly after his lady friend came in with only a robe on and sat on his lap and kissed him. It's a small room so they were probably like 3 feet away from me. It was pretty uncomfortable to say the least. It just seemed odd to have folks together like that.
