It is great to have this new Y facility in the Denver area. Sure we have several 24/7 gyms, but I…read morethink Ys have more to offer the community than these other globo gyms. While this faculty is newer and always clean, it does have its shortcomings. For starters, this is a very small Y and lacks some items one may be looking for. For example, there are only 2 kettle bells--a very light one and another at round 30lbs. If you want to use TRX equipment, it is only available during a specific class or if you are working with one of their personal trainers. At this time, there is only an outdoor pool. If you are a swimmer, I would not suggest this pool as it is more of a recreational space. There are 2 lap lanes, but that doesn't stop kids from jumping in front of you or the adult who thinks the doggie paddle is a stroke from plopping in front of you. On the positive side, the majority of the staff is very friendly & helpful. The staff on the fitness floor is always available to answer questions. The Childwatch area is clean & the staff is great. Although it is a clean facility that has the equipment for a general workout, I have to give this facility only 3 stars especially when comparing it to the other Ys in the area, like Lowe's & Dowd.

July 18, 2026. Denver, NC YMCA facility at around 11:30 AM…read more My 38-year-old adult son has Down syndrome and cannot care for himself. I am his mother and legal guardian. I work for Hospital, and my son attends a day program from Monday through Friday. Because of our schedules, Saturday is the only day he can visit the YMCA, and this happens to be my weekend off. When I approached the front counter, the elderly lady working there informed me that I had to pay a $20.00 guest fee because we do not have an active membership. I had absolutely no problem paying that fee, as I cannot leave my son alone and wanted him to enjoy the facility. However, she then told me that we could not enter because guest access was only allowed from Monday through Friday. At that moment, another staff member intervened and told her that we were allowed to enter. Despite this correction from her colleague, the lady insisted again that we could not enter. Feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, I decided to leave. We then drove to the Lincolnton YMCA, where I explained the situation to the staff there. They were incredibly helpful, but they also could not understand why the lady in Denver denied us access. I need a clear explanation regarding the guest policy. Furthermore, I strongly believe your staff needs better training and sensitivity when dealing with individuals with special needs. My son does not understand why he was rejected, and it is heartbreaking. I expect a prompt response regarding how this situation will be addressed.

Back to square one…read more I've been going to Phoenix for close to two months now. Experiencing stiffness in the neck and lower back pain. Part of it is due to Stenosis of the spine. Everyone agrees that exercise in moderation is needed to maintain flexibility. The people who are been working with me at Haily and Jonathan. Haily in particular is excellent. I've been slowly making progress although to be candid not as fast as I would like. My sessions have been offset by a Blue Cross Blue Shield (Blue Advantage) plan. That is till today. I am in the process of switching plans to Cigna Advantage because quite frankly, the Blue Cross plan (Liberty) leave much to be desired and leaves a lot of dental providers frustrated. Today I walked in and gave them I Cigna Advantage card which goes in effect on January 1st. A few minutes later they came back and informed me they do not honor Cigna. Enjoyed my time here but have contacted my primary Doctor to get a service that is in the network. At least Cigna is in the Dental program. My wife has them and loves the coverage. I was good while it lasted.

I would highly recommend them. Helpful hint. If they ask you if you were a little sore after your last appointment say yes. Otherwise the weight goes up . Really great people.
