The absolute worst place I've ever been to for a massage. I went 20 minutes before my appointment to fill out paperwork. They told me I was good and to go back to the waiting room. At 12:10 when they hadn't come back to get me (10 minutes past my appointment) I went up and was told that they had just tried to call me even though I'd been in the back for the last 30 minutes!!! They then said I need to fill out paperwork and we are now 15 minutes past my appointment time and I had come early to do paperwork which they said I didn't need to do. My massage ended up starting 25 minutes past my appointment time. I had a facial scheduled for after the massage and 10 minutes after I was supposed to be picked up for my appointment, no one had come to get me. When I went up to the front to ask if I needed to check in again, I received attitude from both of the ladies at the front, at this point I then asked to be refunded for the time that I did not get in my massage (they gave a whole $10 back) and to cancel my facial. I'm not going to spend money where I get horrible customer service. This was given to me as a gift so I could relax for my birthday and the whole ordeal gave me stress, and it was the worst experience. I have a membership for massage envy. Ive learned the secret to a great massage- you can't fully relax and enjoy the massage if you are making idle conversation with the therapist. Tell them upfront what you like and want in terms of pressure and areas to focus on. Then lay back and let them do their job! Whew! An hour massage is great but a 90 minute massage is blissful for me. I like deep, firm pressure so I always let the person scheduling know what I like. I may occasionally tell the therapist they are using the perfect amount of pressure (or not) or that particular area feels great to let them know to keep doing what they are doing. Plus, who doesn't appreciate hearing they are doing a great job. I enjoy the quiet room they have to help set the mood of relaxation before you go back. The staff here have always treated me well. I appreciate their well mannered kindness and professional behavior. I've got a facial and a massage scheduled back to back next week. I'm already looking forward to that. read more

During COVID, I have not felt comfortable using my credits and they allowed me to pause my account for 6 months but now that 6 months is up, and COVID is still just as bad. Instead of allowing people to continue to be on hold, they either have to continue to allow charges for credits they don't feel comfortable using, or they can cancel their account and join again (another min 6 month membership required) to use remaining credits. This is ridiculous and taking advantage of a pandemic to force people to continue with a membership they may not want. Some massage therapists here are really great and you feel that all your knots have been worked out after a session; a few are mediocre at best, often leaving you more exhausted than before. Schedule ahead for better luck. The entire staff is very friendly. I would not pay nearly $80 (their regular massage rate for non-member) for a session, unless I am feeling rich and it's from one of the top therapists there. So I sign up for the 12-month membership which allows them to deduct $59 from my bank account each month and I can get one 50-minute massage session per month (tips are additional). If you are having a tough month, you can get more massages for an additional $39 per session. It's a national chain which allows you to continue enjoying the membership if you are relocating to an area with a Massage Envy. I passed by this place while shopping and wondered just what it was. Massage Envy is a national chain that offers a membership that allows you to get massages at an affordable price with no fru fru frills. The introductory offer for first timers is 39 bucks. You get a 50 minute massage plus 10 minutes for dressing and undressing. You can undress to your level of comfort. You will be covered under a white sheet most of the time. The personel working the front desk is friendly and very perky. They are definitely trying to do their job by working the membership angle. If you join the membership, you pay 49 bucks a month and it entitles you to 1 massage a month. You can have as many additional massages in the month as you want but you have to pay a discounted rate per massage. Honestly, it is really not bad considering the prices at day spas and such are usually 65 to 75 bucks for 1 hour. Massage Envy offers swedish, deep tissue, myofacial, sports massage, reflexology, trigger point, and prenatal. I looked at the massage therapists biography book and i know they offer reiki treatment as well. I opted for a 90 minute massage--it was their special for 57 bucks. My massage therapist was efficient and didn't gab a lot which was good. I got a very thorough and deep Swedish massage. I had the knots worked out my shoulders and neck. After leaving, i felt much better. My body felt lighter and less tight. If you are stressed and feel the need for relaxation but don't need the girly feel of the day spa, then Massage Envy might be for you. Massage Envy offers a clean room with massage table, white sheets, blanket, dim lighting and relaxing music. It's not fancy or quite as pampering as the day spas but they are flexible and offer walk in appointments. I got one the same day. So for convenience, it is great because they are open 7 days a week and offer late evening hours until 10 pm. If you haven't had a massage lately, may i recommend Massage Envy. It will make you less grumpy and more relaxed. read more

My best friend and I joined Massage Envy January 2010 in Collierville, TN. It started out great. The customer service and massages were the best! Over the past year or so, we've both experienced a decline in the customer service that we receive. They used to give an 1/2 hour bonus during your birthday month. So last year during my birthday month (March), I scheduled an 1 1/2 massage and told them to use my birthday bonus + prepaid. They said no problem. After the session and cash out, the front desk clerk said "oh, I didn't use your birthday bonus for the session" She had deducted the 1/2 hour from prepaid that had rolled over. It was the end of the month so I asked if it could be used next month. She said no, has to be used during birthday month. So then I asked for a manager to correct it. There was no manager on staff that evening. (now, it seems that a manager is never there when I need to speak with them). I was given a name and number of a manager to call the next day. I spoke to two managers trying to make sure it get corrected. Needless to say, it has not been corrected. I got tired and really busy with work and school to push the issue. Earlier this week I called and requested an appointment for a hot stone massage. They booked me with a therapist that i had a hot stone with before and I was thinking great. I even asked about the birthday bonus, which they stated they no longer do. They give you a $10 bonus. I was thinking even better. I got there and was given an hour massage. I was quite disappointed and talked to the therapist and front desk staff afterwards. They did apologize and the person that booked me was there, but didn't have anything to say. The think that kills me is that when you make a mistake, TRY TO COMPENSATE THE CUSTOMER IN SOME TYPE OF WAY TO KEEP THEIR BUSINESS!!! I've a member for 4 years and all I get is Sorry. I used to make sure I get there monthly because the service and experience was great. Today was the first day I've been back sine July 2013. I have a bunch of prepaids that I will try to transfer and use up soon then cancel my membership. My best friend, she stopped going to Collierville because of similar issues. The massage itself was decent. But my overall complaints come from my before and after experience. My husband bought me a gift card here and he was told a massage was price $X. When I called to make an appointment it was about $20 less than what he purchased. Good deal - at least I thought. Then I got some add ons while I was on the phone making an appointment. Fast forward a few days and I am checking in - those add ons were not even scheduled for me, or at least that is what I was told at check in. So I said, that is fine I will just skip them. Massage was decent and the therapist worked what I asked her to. But it wasn't a full hour (which is what I purchased). It was about 45mins. So then I go to check out, and all of a sudden I have the add on's on my bill - the one's that I was supposed to get, didn't have scheduled and didn't receive, were not being charged to me. After all this I filled out a survey, opted to have a manager contact me - which to this day has not happened. I would not recommend this location. read more

Membership don't do it. Started a membership here all most a year ago and attempted to freeze because I have a lot of unused messages that I need to use. I have been busy working and just unable to go regularly. I couldn't freeze at any location I had to freeze at location I started membership. This was not convenient at all because this location is about 15 miles away. I managed to get by there on my day off and froze my account. I want to cancel but if you cancel you lose all your messages you paid for. If you freeze you still get to use your messages but with a $10.00 or $15.00 charge pulled out of your account each month and that money doesn't go towards your account. So they charge you to freeze your account but better than losing all your messages. So after driving 15 miles out of the way to freeze my account I am still getting the monthly membership deducted from my account. I saw it come out last month just thought it was maybe to late in the month that I froze it so I was getting charged but no just got another monthly charge. I will call tomorrow and try and figure out the problem but trust me it's always something with this company. I have never be so dissatisfied with their customer service and this monthly membership. I asked for a copy of their membership rules and was told it's over 300 pages but they could print it if I wanted. I asked for this because each time I go or take someone with me the rules change and we end up owing something when we walk out. Trust me be ware. I signed up for the membership and was told that I could cancel at any time.. I decided to cancel my membership and my credit card was charged after I canceled.. I had a really hard time getting the credit back on the credit card that was charged.. So Massage Envy gave me partial credit on the credit card that was charged and partial credit on my debit card. I tried my best to get them to correct the issue.. I just don't understand how they could charge my account and issue credits to another card that wasn't used..I spoke with managers, Katie and Erica, each stated that they would try and get the issue resolved but that never happened.. I asked to speak to the owner Tony and that never happened.. I spoke with the assistant manager Sarah and she stated that she would try and get the issue resolved and stated she would give my number to the owner and he would call me back and that never happened.. I would never go back to Massage Envy and I surely wouldn't recommend anyone go there..I was really dissatisfied with the service I received.. Poor customer service.... read more
