This place is not a real massage place. My husband and I came here thinking we would get a wonderful relaxing couples massage. The lady who helped me had some type of Parkinson's while giving me a massage a the lady my husband had decided it was okay to wear gloves during the massage. The whole experience was awful and not relaxing at all. On top of everything we had told them I am pregnant and needed the prenatal massage. When we got to the massage rooms the lady's had no idea about the prenatal massage. I wish I could give 0 stars. We payed so much money. Never going back. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience scheduling at Massage Envy. I am a member and specifically called to book two massages at the same time for myself and a guest. The receptionist told me there were no same-day openings and helped me find a date three weeks out when both of us could be scheduled together. I booked the appointment as a gift for my friend, so we were both looking forward to it. My friend received a confirmation text and was excited about her upcoming massage. However, I realized I never received a confirmation, which seemed odd. When I called to check, I was told that I was never actually scheduled--only my friend was. To make matters worse, the response I received felt like the blame was being shifted onto me, as if I hadn't communicated clearly when making the appointment. I know exactly what I requested: two appointments at the same time for myself and a guest. That was the entire reason we booked three weeks in advance. As a paying member, this level of disorganization and lack of accountability is frustrating and unacceptable. Had a massage with Tiffany. During the massage I was thinking it was fine but I remember years ago when I used to get massages regularly that it felt heavenly and I never wanted it to end. With Tiffany, it was good and fine but not amazing, she didn't seem to know the right spots. Anyhow when the massage was over she shook my hand and said it was nice to meet you. With all of the bad reviews, I decided to try and give them a chance. The receptionist that took my call had a bad attitude even though I was just wanting to set up an appointment. Unfortunately, their cancellation policy is a bit expensive, especially if you don't want to continue if you start having any of the other experiences that other negative reviewers had. The cancellation policy really needs to be looked at if they want to rebuild trust here after all the bad reviews and especially after all the prior controversies the company and this location may have had. read more

I've been going to multiple locations for over 10 years. I'm so happy we in the high desert have this location in Apple Valley. I have only ever experienced really sweet front desk associates, and therapists who are excellent at what they do. This last time with Krista for massage and Allison for a facial were one of the best! Ive been to every type of massage therapy/day spa place in so cal from Burke W., Corona (I won't name names), casino resorts to little mini mall shops, Groupons, and chiropractor offices .... Massage Envy beats them ALL hands down on customer service, price, and professionalism. I'm so thankful for them to keep up my health and wellness. read more

Went to Massage Envy as I was having some extreme lower back pain. I had gone to my doctor and chiropractor but was not finding relief. I decided to see if massage would help. Xander was my massage therapist and to say he is amazing is an understatement! He did a complete stretch session and then massage. I felt instant relief and within the next 1-2 days the pain was completely gone. I followed up with him 2 weeks later for the same service and it was fantastic! Xander is super friendly and professional. He listens to your concerns and addresses them during the massage. He will be the only massage therapist that I see going forward! I have been going to this Apple Valley location for a little over 5 years and I am glad I have made that decision. Originally, I started my membership because I just needed a good massage. PRO TIP (#1): If possible, stick to the same massage therapist once you have found a good one and PRO TIP (#2): They have lives just like you so if you want to stick to your massage therapist, you might need to work around their schedule. Frankly, I have gone through three therapists with my time at this location. Each have been knowledgeable and two have gone so far as to recommend chiropractor treatment (which my chiropractor has said was a good thing I listened). PRO TIP (#3): If you do not communicate with your massage therapist, they will not know what you want or need. You simply can not walk-in and say you want a full body massage. Make suggestions and discuss your concerns. My third therapist knows how to work with my muscles and concentrates well on my areas of concern. She has made suggestions in the past of what stretches I can do and when she noticed that she could not massage within certain areas of my back, she recommended that I have a session with someone else who CAN get in there. PRO TIP (#4): If one massage therapist does not help you out, another can, just speak up. And sure enough, the first words the therapist she recommended to me said was, "Your shoulders should not be so close to your ears." Then, he went to work. This particular session included stretches and I was not afraid to ask questions about how and why certain stretches were good for me. This session allowed me to return to my yoga practice. Like my prior massage therapists, they were knowledgeable of their area of expertise and based on the limited knowledge I have of anatomy and physiology I would say these therapists know what they are talking about! PRO TIP (#5): Schedule your appointments in person. I do not suggest scheduling online (based on the single-star reviews of previous Yelpers). Have your calendar ready and schedule accordingly. In addition, on the same day of your session, I recommend scheduling your next session before or after your session. If you choose to stick to one therapist, the receptionists can give you an idea of the therapists schedule (about a month ahead) and you can schedule accordingly. WARNING: I have canceled and rescheduled with this location before, so re-read your contract and expect to be charged if you do not contact them MORE THAN 24hrs in advance. If you pay a monthly membership (like I do), take advantage of the roll-over time and schedule various sessions (30,, 60, 90 minute sessions...mayyyybe, 120 minute). Sometimes you will get a helpful receptionist, sometimes not. If in doubt during your initial conversation regarding rescheduling, come back on another day because you might have an in-experienced receptionist working with you. PRO TIP (#6): Massage therapists come and go, don't stay too attached but be ready to ask for a recommendation. Last PRO TIP (#7): Do not assume every session is noted down on that iPad. Yes, they put down notes, but not the notes that tell them what your previous session was like. I am grateful that I have communicated with my therapists often enough that they can remember something, but I also know that I have asked if certain things have been noted and I am not convinced that they are. So, treat each session like a new one...communicate your concerns, address what you need/want done during that session, and keep your line (and mind) of communication open to therapist. Parking can be tricky, so be prepared for a small walk. Ask for tea or water before/after your massage (it helps hydrate your muscles and make for a better massage). Use the restroom before your session begins (the time does not stop because you need to go to the restroom, and if you get an abdomen massage - recommended - no one wants unexpected flatulence). read more

Francine on the other hand was not so great she fell asleep on me within 5 minutes of starting my massage and I had to keep jerking my leg or arm to get her to wake up . I finally opened my eyes and saw her head down and not massaging. I told the front desk but to be honest I just read these reviews and this has been going on with her for at least a year. I have never been more disappointed in the customer service at Massage Envy! While I was checking out for my appointment on 8/27, the front desk staff used 1.5 credits without verifying with me that is what I wanted to do. Unfortunately after I was already checked out, the front desk staff let me know what she did. I told her that was not okay, and I did not want to use my credits like that. She "fixed" the issue and I went on my way. While I was checking my back account, I came across a refund and two separate charges from ME. I called to find out why. I was told that they would check into it and call me back. Eventually Sydney did call me back, but I was highly displeased with the outcome. I was told that the front desk staff refunded me the entire 90-minute massage and then charged me for the 30-minute upgrade to complete the 90-minute message. I told Sydney I have absolutely no issue paying the money back for the service, but I wanted my 30 minutes credited back to my account, as I am not one to split my credits. I was informed that this was impossible. We went round and round with nothing getting resolved. My issue lies with the fact that this happens every time I go in. There is always some sort of issue. Sydney's lack of management is appalling to say the least. I am given every excuse under the sun for why issues are happening. I have been far more understanding than most clients, however enough is enough. Is it really too difficult to verify how a client wants their credits to be used? According to Sydney, it is. I also asked her to have the owner Randy call me. He refuses to talk to customers. What kind of business are you running? If there is an issue, how can it be resolved if you don't talk to your customers? I am appalled at the experience. I am beyond frustrated how things are being ran. I have been a faithful member at Massage Envy for 10 years and there is zero appreciation for the clients that have held on. I am at my wit's end. Horrible service! I've had a membership here for over 6 years. I've always scheduled a 90 min massage weeks in advance!!! Just recently they bullied me into extending my session 30 mins. They basically told me either I had to do a 60 min or 90 min due to their scheduling error. I had to pay more money for their mistake because they would not allow me to get the 90 mins I had scheduled even after I asked them. my last appointment on 12/18 they told me the new bookings would be available the 1st week in Jan. I called yesterday & all of time slots are gone. Huh??? How is that possible. They opened up for new bookings on 12/21!! I've tried to cancelled my membership & they said I have to wait 3 days. BS. I'm not interested, just cancel & leave me alone!! I talked to the Asst Manager who kep speaking over me. Not a dump fest where the technician talks about their personal problems and occultism practices. The customer should not know about the technician's custody issues with the father of her child. Since this Massage Envy is the only one up here in the high desert . I can't make a comparison with another Massage Envy in the high desert . However I can say that Martin did an exceptional massage ‍. However, beware of Francine. She fell asleep while massaging me about 30 min into my session therefore, I had to stop the session with her, and let the front desk be aware of the situation. Truthfully I did not pay for the both of us to fall sleep . The front desk were able to return my 90 min and added 30 min for the awkward issue, and were also able to get me in the next day for 2 hour session with Martin. WORST BUSINESS IN THE HIGH DESERT! The employees DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONES, so if you have an appointment and don't know what time it is at, you're screwed! My partner had an appointment (that I made) yesterday and I called 3x prior to figure out the exact time--no answer. It's the front desk's job to answer the phones. 3 separate time I called--no answer. But they aren't too busy to charge you for your service that you miss because you didn't know what time it was because they refuse to answer their phones. Then, when I finally did get ahold of someone, who happened to be the MANAGER, she proceeded to HANG UP ON ME. So, they don't answer their phones, then when you are calling upset because they did not answer and are now CHARGING your family for NOTHING, they hang up on you. How infuriating. This manager (Sydney) needs some serious customer service training and disciplinary action for the way she treated me. I am absolutely blown away by the lack of professionalism at this business. Been coming here for 10years, but I refuse to be treated this way by a snotty stuck up front desk person. Unless you like being harassed after your massage and talked into a contract for over $800/yr, then being treated like absolute GARBAGE once you've signed the contract, I'd recommend taking your money elsewhere, like the $25 foot spa (really a full body) in the next shopping center over. I had the worst experience, it made me never want to come back. I used my gift card for a facial, because I couldn't get in for a massage, they only had very light pressure. i was looking forward to it being relaxing and it was the complete opposite. The service provided Allison was nice, seemed very new I didn't think I'd mind, until she wouldn't stop talking. I couldn't even relax, it's like she didn't grasp the concept. She also had extremely poor hygiene, she smelled so bad. After the session I went to use the restroom and that part of the clinic smelled like garbage, as well so i just didn't even use the bathroom. From start to finish I enjoyed ever minute of my time. The three girls at the front desk are really friendly and professional. Autumn the beautiful girl that checked me in and spent time asking questions all about me made me feel so special. Her concern about what I wanted in a message and the comfort sitting waiting to be called back. Autumn also gave me a tour and she smiled the whole time from the beginning of her company to the time I left. Being 68 it's nice to have a smile come my way. Heather was the one who gave me my message. She was very professional and hit all the right spots plus more. I like deep tissue messages and the more it hurts the better it feels. She manage to hurt me to the point to where I was ready to say, ok, ok, ok. That means stop. Lol. I been coming here for months now and I've seen a few different therapists. I usually come in only for massages, my favorite therapist is Jessica. She is consistent with her work and never disappoints. I've never had issues with making appointments or changing the dates. The receptionists are nice and usually very attentive. As far as facials go, I came in once and got a facial done and I was very disappointed. The girl doing my facial told me she was new and she really didn't know what she was doing. I don't think you should ever tell a costumer you are new or doing the job for the first time. I will keep my membership and only come in for massages. read more

I had a 9 AM appointment that I had booked online. I woke up that morning with a bit of a cold. I thought it would be considerate of me to call the Apple Valley Location, where my appointment was to be, they didn't open until 8:00. I asked if they would like me to wear a facemask, reschedule, basically what they thought I should do? I was put on hold and the young girl got back on the phone and said I could not come in and per their policy they would be charging me a $55 fee for not giving them a 24 hour notice. Of course I first thought I did you a favor by not bringing my germs in there and now you want to tell me I cannot come in and you're going to charge me $55??!!!! This young girl was so monotone and arrogant, had her delivery been a little different, compassionate, appreciative of me calling, maybe something like " i'm sorry you're not feeling well but unfortunately our policy is......" I might not be as upset as I am. She finally said "we will not charge you this time BUT if this happens again we will have to charge you" she then said " bye, have a nice day" her tone was so cold and arrogant. I did get an email from Ashley the manager. The majority of her email was the same tone as her receptionist. Acting like they don't care that I woke up with a cold and I was thoughtful enough to call and ask if I should still come in or not, their policy is they will get your money no matter what. Ashley did follow up and I was not charged anything. They could all use a few lessons on how to deal with customers. I will NOT be doing business at that location. They handled the issue refunded my money and I sent in all the cancellation forms with a phone call stating they received everything and my account was deleted. Today I get a phone call. I ignore it. Then I find out they charged my account that they said was closed! Twice they have taken my money and I'm left with pennies having to wait 5-10 business days... rude inconsiderate people that suck at their job. I scheduled an appointment that was pretty far out but they offered me to be placed on the waiting list, to my surprise I was called in to go that same week. I went in and had a pretty good experience during the facial. It was my first one so I was super excited. To get to the point I did not know that your original appointment doesn't get canceled. I was aware of canceling within the 24 hrs. Guys I ended up with 4 appointments!! In one month. I canceled one, that same day I got another call later on stating the lady got sick and they were canceling but I had already canceled the other appointment I wasn't aware of it. When I called to inquire... that's when it all started. The lady who answered laughed stating the "computers don't just schedule appointments on their own." failed to let me know when I scheduled it. The assistant manager was abrupt, very unpleasant to speak to. I didn't even want my money back I gave a suggestion to please let their customers know the original appointment does NOT get canceled she replied with "our customers know the policy's" I was new there, first facial I had no idea. Her attitude became more calm when I said their customer service was basically trash. I refused to go back. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
