I am very happy with ocean spa these days. I love when they give a nice , slow moving relaxing massage that can put me to sleep. I like to bring a mixture of three parts of baking soda and one part of Epsom salt in a sandwich bag To pour into my foot bath water, it helps with inflammation and helps relax. I also like to play my deep healing frequency music next to me and it's the best. I definitely have my favorite Therapist, but I'm going to keep that to myself but all the staff is great. Walked in to try this place just today. Clean and quiet; a plus from the start. Fair price for their services and I was very happy with CeCe taking care of me. I knew from other reviews to bring cash and avoid the card fee. I tend to be a generous tipper when service is good so I don't mind the request of at least $10 tip. Went to Ocean Spa the three of us wanted to get a foot massage. They wanted to charge $40 if you psy cash & $45 if you use card. Since it was three of us they would have charged $15 to use the card. The sign on the door says 30.00 massage but when I went to pay I was told 35.00 and then without warning I was charged 2.00 to use my card so that's already 7.00 more and then they have the audacity to post a "minimum 10.00 tip" sign. They said yes I come in and tell them it's my first time and I want hot stones and my back massages the lady at the front desk says yes I will let your massage lady know to bring the hot stones. STOP READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT Don't believe the hype from old reviews! The business was sold and doesn't produce the same service as before! The old owners had amazing reviews because they offered a great service at a reasonable price. That was then.. this is now!! This place has a new owner and it's horrible! The reviews that are recently posted with negative comments are accurate! I returned and tried for myself and I don't see me going back unless it sells again and offers the customer service it had before. It was a legitimate massage place that offered great customer service. Here's my experience from the new owners. They raised their prices! The female masseuse left my room not once, twice, nope not 3 but 4 different times. Yes I'm aware they go to retrieve towels, stones etc. this is a problem. Be properly prepare for your customers. Each time they leave, that's time that's taken from my hourly massage service that I paid for. It also interrupts the flow of the massage that isn't relaxing. They don't teach you that when getting your license either! Basic 101 knowledge! Also other reviews comment made about the lady having dry hands.. what you are actually feeling is the lady wearing latex gloves!! WHAT??!! YES!! 1000%! No one wants that!! Ever!! If you feel you have to wear gloves while giving a massage, this is the wrong profession for you! And lastly, when I was ready to leave, they definitely expect a tip and are not shy about looking to see what you're giving them before you leave. I paid what what is average/fair, but I could see how other reviews mentioned feeling harassed if they didn't tip accordingly. Unfortunately people that offer services NEED to remember .. tips are not obligated they are an appreciation of your personal service you gave to the customer. So if it wasn't exceptional service, or completely satisfied, it's wrong for you to assume the customer has to tip you! You can't post a sign DEMANDING TIPS!! Sadly this place was fantastic when it opened and the reviews were accurate.. Yelp shouldn't allow the new place to carry those reviews over because it's misleading to a new customer. I ask for hard pressure each time- I like it to hurt a bit now to feel even better later. Coco is strong, considerate and she checks in to see how I am handling the pressure. I just tried this place yesterday; my boyfriend and his mom are regulars but this was my first time. It is a clean, large place with a lot of space and private rooms for massages. This made it fairly quiet for a pleasant noise-free massage. The manager kept assuring us it was clean and sanitized in between customers. They also take your temperature twice before allowing you in for the massage. As far as COVID-19 goes, I am pretty comfortable that I won't catch anything here. The massage was good, although I got the foot massage (which does cover most of the body, but is pretty much 80% feet/legs) and I think next time I would do a combo so there is more neck, shoulders and back. For our little group, the 3 of us were in a private room but it looked like there are private rooms for each person if you come alone. The only issue was that we had appointments and were asked to come back in 45 minutes - but the manager was nice and let us have $5 off each service when we returned (and the service itself was worth the wait), so I will forgive it.
