I had a very disappointing experience at this massage business. After my massage, I was told there was a required minimum tip amount. This policy was never disclosed before the service, and there was no signage anywhere indicating that tips were mandatory or that a minimum amount was required. What made the experience even worse was that I was not allowed to leave until I paid the tip amount they requested. Tips are supposed to be voluntary, and I felt extremely uncomfortable and pressured. If a business has a tipping policy, it should be clearly communicated to customers before the service begins not after the fact. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling more stressed than relaxed, and I won't be returning. read more

Awesome service, masseuse was excellent the owner or manager short older lady from here is very rude with the tips.. she ask you if you want to Tip and you tell her the amount you want to leave and she overrides it.. and expects you to pay what she asks? I have a feeling she has these people overworking and paying them with tips.. Labor board should get involved to protect these employees and the better business bureau so they can explain to these people is a service they providing and we are paying for it, tips are optional and up to customers discretion! Since I found Spa Vital I would not even consider going back there. Yes there is a language difference but everyone trys and I haven't had any trouble communicating my needs. The spa is very clean. I come here often because walk ins or last minute appointments are pretty easy to book with about 2 hours. Jenny is my favorite, just the right pressure for me. What I don't like is that they charge one price and they pretty much force me to tip $20. Once I was okay with the service because the main lady was answering the phone during my services and she left for a walk-in so I didn't want to leave $20 I was Goona give her $10 and she would tell me no. I had gotten a gift certificate from my mom for my birthday to get a 90 min massage, and I was so excited because I have back issues. I went in tonight, and received a nice massage, although the costumer service was on a totally different level. I called ahead of time, twice to schedule an appointment and received no answer or call back, but received a message so I booked through there. I got there and they seemed confused as to why I was there, but they took me back anyways (even though walk-ins are welcome). Took them about 15 mins to get started once they left me in the room to get undressed. I didn't want to get up and ask them when they would be starting because they just walk into the rooms, and I didn't want to be exposed. The massage started, and throughout the whole process the massage was goo, although the entire time she kept leaving the room for 5 mins at a time, not telling me anything. Leaving me exposed to a point where it was not comfortable with me, but I didn't have the chance to cover myself because I didn't know she was leaving the room. Answered 3 calls while doing my massage, and had conversations. When leaving I didn't have any cash on me, so I asked if I could tip on card and she said yes. So when I went to tip, she turned the computer towards me but wouldn't let me push the numbers, she wanted me to tell her. So I told her the amount I wanted and she acted like she didn't hear me, so I said it again and she scoffed at me and said $20 while rolling her eyes. I asked, is this required? And she said "yes! On a 90 mins massage, that is required." I work for tips as well, and know that no tips are required, but gladly accepted. But also know, that if someone doesn't tip it's not that big of a deal. According to their place of business, that is a big deal, and I am now not allowed to come back to their place of business after receiving a text from their owner. She was extremely rude until I said I was going to be yelping this encounter, and her whole demeanor changed into making me pity them for the line of work that they chose. read more

I think Spa Vital is my favorite place to get a massage. The service and price is unmatched! Susan did an excellent job massaging out knots I had in my neck and shoulders. This was my first time visiting this spa, not a whole lot of options in the high desert. Received a deep tissue massage and the actual massage was great; however you would think a massage it's to relax n enjoy the service that your your paying for! Far from that, the lady massaging must of answered five calls during my massage and was booking customers; nothing to this massage was relaxing. Then came to paying and I tipped her $10 and she was upset about it!!! So the moral of my review is they are expecting a mandatory tip, but yet they are not giving the service I am paying for because they are busy and have no receptionist. Word of advise to the owner, get a receptionist it's not worth loosing a customer to save money!!! First time coming here after several people suggesting this place or me. It lived up to the reviews. It's a bit of a distance for me to drive, but totally worth it. They offer appointments, and open even on the weekends giving you an opportunity to find the right time for your schedule. I was able to call and get an appointment the next day! The ladies are nice, seem to care about not only their business but also their clients. The room appeared to me clean and even had the warning beads for you (YESSSSS) I had Tina as my therapist. I came in with a very tight, stiff neck and shoulders in which I desperately needed relief. Without her even asking or me mentioning it, she really worked out the knots. I have never asked for a deep tissue massage, but I feel like that's probably what it feels like if I had to explain my massage. Definitely not a Swedish massage. KInda painful if I am being completely honest, but some how I think that's exactly what I needed to help the pain in my neck and shoulders go away. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I found this place online and decided to purchase massages for my daughter and her friend for their birthdays. Unfortunately I did not check yelp prior, because it was super last minute and I was just desperately trying to find someone in the high desert, which is a task in itself. I contacted this place by phone and it was a nightmare trying to communicate with them. I finally hung up and was going to move on. Then I received a text with some info. When trying to get more info. I was told they were busy. For the next 36 hrs I kept trying to reach out. I ended up telling the lady that I was going to come in to talk with her and asked what would be a good time. She never responded. I text again and told her I was on my way there. I went ahead and drove there (20 min drive) and when I got inside the lobby there was nobody there. I stood there for quite a while. I ended up texting her and telling her I was there, no response. I text again stating I was in the lobby, with no response. I then called her because I had no clue where anyone was. She came out and said she was busy giving a massage. I told her that I was the one that had been texting her and told her I was on my way. I asked if there was someone there who could help me out with the gift certificates. She did end up helping me, but not happily by any means. I left there thinking WTH?! I videoed her writing out my gift certificates because at that point I wasn't even sure how legit or honorable this place was. My daughter went to get her massage today. She called me when she was done and I asked how it was. She did say the massage was nice, but... I was like, "oh no, but what?! She proceeded to tell me how hard it was to get a hold of anyone to book the massage and how they acted surprised that she was there when she showed up to her appt. She said the lady was unbelievably rude. The lady kept leaving her exposed when leaving the room several times throughout the massage, she answered a few phone calls during the massage as well. Then at the end she ran out of the room after my daughter asking if she was going to leave a tip. They hadn't even got to the lobby area. My daughter told her she only had a card and aksed if that was ok. She told her yes, but would not except the amount my daughter was offering. She told her she had to leave a $20 tip. That it was mandatory. The lady just kept arguing with my daughter, so my daughter ended up walking out and the lady immediately text her, telling her she is not welcome there and to never come back. My daughter told her that if a $20 tip was mandatory, it should be posted somewhere or added to the price of the massage. My daughter works for tips, she understands how tips work and she would never in a million years tell someone a tip is expected and would greatly appreciate any amount someone would tip her, "IF" they decided to. When my daughter told the lady she would be posting on yelp, she then tried the pity route and talked about how sore they get because they work so hard. My daughter is also sore from her job because she works hard as well. That is nobody faults and she doesn't expect a bigger tip because of it. Your tip is based off way more than the massage quality. Maybe take some customer service courses??? Or, change professions! Stop treating your paying customers who are willing to tip you like horrible people. read more

I've gotten massage from here 3x now. The place is clean & the massages are great, especially for the price. But once you go to tip (which tips are optional in any business) these people get rude. I had an hr massage for $50. I was going to tip $10 which is 20%..above average, right. Well I gave the lady a $20 bill & asked for $10 change. She had the nerve to say, "you might as well give the whole thing." I said, no please give me change. She handed me $5 & rolled her eyes. Basically I got punked out of an extra $5. To me, this is rude behavior & makes everything good about the place not worth it. If they want $65 for an hr they should charge that. read more

I cannot say enough about how good the little walk-in massage of Spa Vital is. Most little walk-in places give very generic, cookie-cutter massages. Not here. At Spa Vital, you get a customized massage and it's amazing! Come in before 2pm and get $10 off the regular price! I've had 10 massages here, with both Susan and Lily. I personally prefer Susan's Thai (yoga) massage. She teaches this method in an LA massage school. I will often request her, but if she's not available, Lily gives a wonderful massage as well. It is truly affordable here! Just trust me and get the 90 minute Thai (Yoga) massage... by the time she's at minute 60, she's massaged your body into butter and that is when she starts the stretching portion of the massage. Your muscles will respond so well. If you've never had the Thai (Yoga) massage, after they've gotten your muscles relaxed, they use their body to gently stretch your neck, arms, legs, back. This includes her getting onto the table, but don't freak out, she's using gravity to gently stretch you - and it is AMAZING! Just trust me! I'm a massage aficionado. The spa is very simple, not fancy, but very clean and private. I've given friends gift cards for Spa Vital and everyone has reported how wonderful their massage is! read more

Usually I would go with my sister and mom and always had good experiences when we would go at night time. But this time my mom and I went in the day and got mean staff. These ladies literally laughed in our faces and forced us to give $10 tip. I usually do tip $10 each but today my mom mentioned she walked out with pain in her neck that she didnt have before we walked in, so today I gave less than $10 but still tried to tip, and thats when they wouldnt accept it and forced us to tip $10 each. And they were maliciously laughing in our faces and couldn't at least wait til we left. I have spent so much money at fancy resort massage places and they do not come anywhere near the quality of this place. It was seriously the best massage I have ever had. I have terrible knots in my shoulders and neck, and the people massaging me will always acknowledge it but then give up on them after 5 minutes. Susan did not stop until they were eased.
