I scheduled a facial for my friend and she told me about her experience. I wasn't pleased hence the reason for this review. This was her first time getting a facial so she didn't know what to expect. She said Chrissa was fine which is what's important but her experience with everyone else not so much. After she tips her, the other women that worked there asked about gratuity although they saw her pay her. Then they kept asking her repeatedly to be a member and asking why not today. I've been a member for over a decade but had someone done that to me, I wouldn't have joined. I suggest providing a better customer service experience to all the guests -especially new ones. I have been coming here for a long time now. They have made a lot of great improvements over the last few years and it is an amazing place. A few years back, I had trouble making appointments and the ladies at the front desk were unfriendly. This has definitely improved a lot and they people they have there now are the absolute best! My massage therapist is Candie and I HIGHLY recommend her! Especially with the new CBD cream, it was the best massage experience. She is super friendly and really focuses on problem areas to relieve my pain. My facial therapist is Christina and she is amazing! She has provided me great advice for my face and my skin has never looked/felt so great. Every experience with her has been relaxing and informative. Today I had a wonderful massage at Massage Envy on Niagara Falls Blvd. Nicole was my massage therapist, and she did an excellent job of relieving my neck and shoulders of tension. She was quiet and listened to my requests for more pressure, and more time spent on my neck. I would recommend Nicole to anyone seeking a relaxing, therapeutic massage. I reviewed my experience with Lindsay, who was lovely. She presented all the services that Massage Envy offers, and asked if I would be interested in learning more. I've had a membership to Massage Envy for years, back when I lived in Missouri. I cancelled it when I moved to Buffalo because Massage Envy wasn't here then, but immediately scheduled an appointment when they franchised in WNY. I have to say I renewed my membership all because of my masseuse, Candy. She's amazing! I'm a deep pressure/deep tissue kind of girl, and she puts me through the meat grinder. I hurt the next day where she works me over, but I'm headache free and feel good for the 2 weeks following it. Plus she and I have great conversations, we see eye to eye on a lot of topics, so it's nice to talk to her about current events, philosophy, etc. Totally, totally worth it. I've been going to her for years and will continue doing so, she's my girl! That we get along so well is completely matter of opinion, so I'm happy we clicked and she's such an excellent deep pressure masseuse! The location is easy(ish) to get to and the interior is alright. The front desk staff seem to rotate a lot, but they're often pleasant to me. My husband keeps losing the masseuses he likes, so he gets frustrated with that, but when he does come across another masseuse that's good, the massages are such stress relievers he keeps going back. Plus his membership is discounted since I have one, so it's a better value on his end. I don't know how this place even exists. You're much better off paying more money and going somewhere else. By the time you upgrade your 60 min massage to a 90 min massage and leave a tip it would be the same cost at some other place that's much better. Also, you never get a full 60 or 90 min massage. This is a horrible establishment that has terrible customer service. I was a member at another location about 7 years ago and cancelled for how much of a rip off it is. I got a gift certificate for Christmas for $50, I call to book a massage for an hour and the woman over the phone tells me that she sees I used to be a member but it will only be $50 for an hour. I got here tonight and I was told "oh sorry she was new and it's $90", no warning when they clearly knew without me asking yet failed to notify me before the appointment. I get here and you surprise me with another $40 charge. On top of it, this is a chain massage parlor and you are charging $90 for a massage when I can get a better massage at a local establishment for $40-$50 for an hour? This place is a joke, their customer service is terrible and while I am supposed to be here to relax, I am only more stressed and annoyed because of them. If you get a gift card, sell it, trash it, whatever you do- don't bother. The price is right and you feel relaxed when you leave. I have been going for a year now and I enjoy my sessions. Katie is my massage therapist and she is amazing. She customizes my session to where I am feeling the stress. She uses the right amount of pressure and really works the knots out. Katie checks in throughout the session to make sure the pressure is good and things are feeling ok. I would recommend this place to anyone. I go once a month but you can customize it to your needs and preference. They have many therapist on site with different availability so they will fins someone who best suites you. Very disappointed with this location. Have been coming here for 3+ years. I have had some excellent therapists but there is a high turnover with staff. I recently went for a massage and the therapist I was assigned to was sick with a respiratory illness. The therapist was clearly very ill and admitted this. I ended up not having the massage as I cannot risk getting I'll. First off, the therapist should not have been doing massages and transmitting her infection. Management should have sent her home. Now I am out money for a massage that I didn't even have that what not my fault. I also called the day after this and was told that a manager would call me back. 24 hours later and no return call! Very disappointed! I am going to be canceling my membership and will be going elsewhere. Yes, it is going to cost me more for a massage but you get what you pay for. I am giving this 5 stars based only on my massages with Maria SanGeorge. She is a great massage therapist. I have been getting massages for years and she is the best. I go every other week for a 1 massage. Because of my job, I really need it. So b/c I go so often the membership is a great deal for me. I do however hate the fact that it is a chain and the people at the desk are so pushy to up sell services, etc. so whenever I refer anyone there I just warn them about that. If you enjoy your masseuses digging bruises into your skin and receptionists who tell you their next available massage will be sometime three months from today then this is the place for you. Just today I went to get a massage, signed in with the receptionist and waited in the waiting room for half an hour. I walked back up and asked what's going on. They said "oh.. we'll give your masseuse a call." The masseuse was not even at the location and they didn't bother letting me know. I'm a new member to Massage Envy; I came for a massage about a month ago because of my chronic migraines. They were pretty bad over the summer and I was desperate to find a holistic way to treat them. I got an hour-long full body massage by Nicole M. and she found a ton of tension & stress at the base of my skull in my neck. She was extremely knowledgeable and after the massage there was a noticeable difference in my upper body. I felt MUCH more flexible and relaxed. I decided to get the monthly membership to see if regular massage therapy could decrease or eliminate my migraines. Today I returned for my second massage and Heather was amazing. She focused on my upper body and talked me through the areas where I had the most tension. Since my first massage, I've only had two migraines, and only because I skipped meals and my blood sugar got pretty low. And they were very easy to treat with over the counter pain meds. This is a HUGE improvement from 3 - 5 migraines per week. I'm very excited to see how regular massage therapy helps me in the long run. If you're looking for the whole spa experience with chenille robes and champagne, you won't find that here. But you can get quality massage therapy for a reasonable price. Until I walked back into the front and had to listen to the membership sales pitch. Repeatedly saying no I'm not interested, and listening to "one more thing", i quickly grew annoyed and not relaxed. So I've been on crutches for the past month or so and it was really doing a number on my shoulders/back/arms. I got a note from my doctor okaying a massage, and scheduled an appointment at Massage Envy for a Monday after work. Three hours before the appointment I get a call that the therapist has called in sick and they need to reschedule me. To her credit, the girl who called was friendly and tried to be helpful (she even called to their other locations to try to get me in). Unfortunately, the next earliest appointment wasn't for a full week. It's crazy that they have no plan in the event a therapist doesn't show. First time at this location and it was a fantastic experience. Front desk staff was so friendly and welcoming--even got a tour of the spa and the waiting room was very calming. My therapist KATHERINE provided one of the BEST massages I have ever had, and I am an LMT of 12 years and have had plenty of massages over the years. I was impressed by her knowledge and skill! This was a fail for me. I had a gift card so figured why not. I walked in and everything feels very corporate which is to be expected. I answered a bunch of questions that an employee entered into an iPad and then I was taken to the tranquility room. I thought I would have a few minutes to begin to unwind to get ready for my massage but no it was about 30 seconds before my therapist was there to whisk me away to a different room. I asked for someone who could give me a really deep tissue massage and I was assigned the employee who had the highest rating for pressure. What wasn't so great was when he walked in I could smell cigarette smoke on him which is not what I was looking for when I was going for massage. Overall massage uneventful it was fine the pressure was good I didn't feel like I had any lasting fax from it though. At the end of the massage I got dressed and went out to the area to cash out and of course was tried to be pressured into buying a package in a monthly massage which I was not interested in doing after the cigarette smell experience unfortunately this lived up to my very low expectations and was a fine massage that only cost me enough money for a tip but I certainly would be unhappy if I had paid full price for this. read more

I carry so much stress and tension in my back and shoulders and I found having monthly massages with Nicki helps me with my pain...I tried the chiropractor who is also very good but nothing like getting regular massages. I go every 3 months for a "tune up" at the chiropractor but every 3-4 weeks (or sooner if I have a gift card) for an upper body massage with Nicki. It has changed my life! read more

I would post a negative rating if I could. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT sign a contract with this entity. They are more than happy to take your money and the service is mediocre and expensive at best. In the event you relocate and try to cancel your contract they harass you with numerous phone calls and letters demanding money for an additional month even if your account is current with unused services. Then to delay your ability to use them, they keep your account open and try to force more money out of you. There was a class action lawsuit brought against them for this type of dishonest act...but I guess this location didn't get the memo on ethics. Save your money and go to a real spa. I'm giving 3 stars solely due to the absolutely annoying & pushy people at front desk. Carly, the massage therapist that I saw today, did a great job. She deserves 4.5 stars. And I would've made the decision to come back to her again, if it weren't for the absurd push to become a member after the massage. I read a couple reviews about this, at massage envy, so I geared myself up for it. But, when I agreed to become a member, I had to be sure that I'd be able to cancel at any time! The girl who was givin me the pitch, failed to mention that I'd be signing a 12 month contract! That's a BIG detail to not mention! So after asking & then receiving that fact- I declined. It was like the end of the world & you could hear a pin drop! Then, no "Have a nice day!" Nothing! And through all that, I forgot to tip Carly! I turned the car around once I realized I never tipped her- and upon re-entry, I was once again questioned about the membership! FRIGGIN ANNOYING! And it totally took away all the relaxation I just was enjoying from the massage! They really lost me after that. That sucks, because I liked Carly! The massages are decent, who you see impacts whether it's an average, decent or good massage. The first couple were actually phenomenal. As someone who suffers from significant shoulder and back pain, the idea of regular massages was great so I signed up. Here's my experience AFTER about 10 months. Inability to book an appointment, weeks, sometimes over a month after I wanted it. Attempts to cancel resulted in the person I needed to speak with "not being there" Calls to cancel require it be done "in person" Went to cancel only to discover that if I cancelled I'd lose several of those massages I'd "saved" due to being unable to schedule a massage. Finally MONTHS after trying (and 4 months after my year being up) I ended up being able to get this cancelled. They cancelled 2 of my appointments that were required to be used by a certain day. I did get them in, by taking any random massage therapist, but I've got to tell you, this place reeks of used car salesman techniques and not in a good way. So imagine my frustration when I was gifted a massage as a thank you. I didn't use it. I was going to, but I called 17 times to see about getting an appointment and I'm not willing or able to schedule 3 months in advance. Save your money. read more

My girlfriend and I went to massage envy on Niagara Falls Blvd in Tonawanda NY and it was the most disgusting experience of my life.The woman who did my massage smelled as if she hadnt showed for a week in the Amazon. She had me lying face up and was leaning over me breathing into my face and I had to breathe through my mouth because of the smell. Her hands felt like a mechanic's hands and all she did was move the lotion around on my back. It wasnt even a massage. She also spent 25 mins of the short massage on my arms and chest after I filled out the questionaire, told the intake girl and the therapist that i only wanted my back, neck and shoulders done. So about 35 mins into the hour massage i was choking back vomit and said we had an emergency and had to get going. I told the manager that they should check their employees hygiene and not to offer me a membership or i would walk out without paying.Two thumbs down massage envy, gross! read more

No wonder they won't allow you to pay beforehand, because they attack you with sales drama afterwards, which really takes away from your relaxing massage that you've just experienced. At the moment, I've summed up a little more than a year of monthly service at this place. The massages are not actually an hour, but 50 minutes. With 10 minutes of talking. But that was reasonable...but last year I was having complications financially and couldn't afford the luxury of monthly massages, and it is a pain to get out of the contract without making a payment first. Then there were the handful of stolen payments due to "contract agreements.". You would think a place with the objective of stress relief would have a much more supportive staff. But I find it hard to believe that they actually enjoy their job, let alone take the goal seriously. Finally, the manager, who completed ignored my frustration with the final situation, became a very snippy individual full of sarcasm. Doesn't matter what the situation is, you remain a professional. I'm not sure if this is a good deal or not. I received my first message from Eric, and was told by the person doing the scheduling that he was a deep pressure masseuse. My first time with him was good, pressure was deep and he was able to work out my knots. However the second time I had him he was excessively rough, to the point of abusive. He left bruises and pinched my skin so that it was painful to even wear a bra. He pulled my hair and yanked on my limbs and neck. It was TERRIBLE!!!!!! He acted like he was angry and was talking it out on me, this is not what a massage should be like. I have to go back because I did the membership, but I will NEVER go to Eric again!!! I hope that someone else will be better. I want to relax not lay in pain feeling worse then before the massage. I joined up for a six month membership in May. I used my insurance wellness card which the associate and I calculated that would pay the membership for the length of my membership. I went 3 times. They used all of my Wellness card money. My membership should've ended in October. They are now billing me monthly and are hararrassing me with constant phone calls!! They have also sent me to collection. Even though the massages and facials are awesome but their memberships are a scam!! read more
