I climb a lot of ladders, and for the first time in several years I now have enough flexibility in my right hip to let me climb and descend symmetrically instead of like a gimp. Even my chiropractor was impressed. That's incredible! I am going to add the cupping next time. I believe you can also get a milk toast type massage, but I appreciate a deep massage for my high mileage body. I work hard and do a fair amount of heavy lifting, so my muscles are need serious help. Very deep tissue massage. Even a bit painful, but it hurts so good. She followed a pattern on my neck, back, arms, and scalp. Very thorough. I believe they have privacy booths in the back for those who want a full body massage. Please check with the front desk counter when you arrive for clarification. The atmosphere was very calming. The lights are dimmed to provide a soothing atmosphere along with very quiet light music playing. My massage took place right behind the counter area in a massage chair. I was expecting a booth but considering it's just a neck and shoulder and back massage, it didn't really bother me to be upfront or others could see as they walk the mall. I decided on Chinese Massage because it was relatively nearby and had okay reviews (or any reviews, for that matter). Though they accommodate walk-ins, you can book online (however from other reviews, it appears they don't track their online booking system well). I booked an appointment 15 minutes out, just in case, and headed over there. It's located in a strip mall off of Eubank, just north of Constitution. Upon entering, no one was upfront, but someone came to greet me. The language barrier was quite significant and she didn't seem to understand when I said I'd booked online. She understood I was looking for a one-hour massage, so she directed me toward the back into a room with a floor lamp that had a disconcerting red light bulb, security camera monitors glaring down over the massage table and curtains along the back wall that covered what appeared to be something like rice paper wall/room divider. She then told me that I had to pay before the service, which I have never been asked to do at a massage business. I was uncomfortable doing so (especially since I typically use cash when dealing with smaller massage businesses, because I've had a few experiences where they "highly encourage" you to NOT use your credit card, so they can avoid merchant fees....and that conversation is also uncomfortable). That said, Chinese Massage does offer the option to pay with credit card. As for the massage, all I had to cover myself was a bath towel. The massage, for the most part, was lackluster. It was mostly rubbing oil along my contours, but no actual muscle manipulation. My massage therapist also left at least twice to go answer the front door. She did a decent job when it came to my hands, feet, and scalp. Afterwards, I was offered a bottle of cold water. Finally, the cost was $60 for the hour. While relatively inexpensive as far as many massage spa/facilities are concerned, I don't feel like I got $60 worth of relaxation.

The shampoo they used was Pantene, which isn't even a product I use at home, so it didn't feel like a premium spa treatment. Based on that experience, I wouldn't recommend the hair spa add-on. Overall, the massage was worth it, especially because of Yoyo's skill, but I left feeling satisfied rather than excited to return. I'd come back for the massage, but I'd skip the hair spa next time.
