The most recent visit was for a facial with Emily, who's an absolute expert in her craft. Shoutout Capricorns! During your session they assess your skin and let you know what they are doing and using. It's so calming that I often find myself falling asleep by the end of it. They have private tubs you can reserve for an hour if that's more the vibe you are feeling, but you can also use the hot tub before or after your appointment to soak which is so relaxing. I do appreciate the touches of tea kettles and tea in the lounge area that are complimentary. They also have snacks and other things if you are there longer. Remedy is such a sweet serene spot right in the university area that you'd kinda forget where you are because it's so peaceful while experiencing it, and that's why I can't recommend Emily and Remedy enough.

I'm quite a frugal person but I love my massage...so..after a long hiatus from getting a massage, I…read morefinally decided I was going to get one on the day I felt quite off and sick with my whole body aching. I picked HYH because they had easy scheduling online..and the other places I checked out online either didn't seem to have easy appointment making process or just were not open/didn't have last minute availability! I ended up booking my 90 minute full body massage appointment at night that day after I was done with everything! I was so glad I chose HYH. I arrived 30 minute earlier because I wasn't sre about where the place or what the parking situation was. But...there was nothing to worry about at all! Safe parking area, etc! Once I stepped into a place, a staff greeted me with water. I waited a bit and once I was there, I already felt a little relief from the peacefulness there. I had a male massage therapist and he was good! He did check in with me quite a bit on how I was doing and what I preferred. Honestly, with all the hot towels, warm pillows, hot stones, and all the massages all over, I felt on cloud 9. The prices were extremely reasonable that I felt so glad I chose to treat myself well that day! I definitely will be back at this place given all the right experiences about this place and the fact that they seemed more flexible with hours and open early/late, too!

The masseuses were very skilled, the entire place was extremely clean, and we felt wonderful afterwards. I felt comfortable the entire experience. The spa has a parking lot in the back. We had a 60 minute couples massage and there were times it felt intense, but overall it was what my body needed. The masseuse felt the areas that I needed extra work on, and he paid closer attention to those areas. They used hot stones and my body felt extremely relaxed afterwards. Definitely recommend. There may be a language barrier, but Google Translate is helpful. When we go back I feel more confident knowing to ask for more specifics.

I've been to many spas in NYC, LA, Boston, etc. For me personally, nothing compares to Betty's! The ambiance is welcoming and calming, the prices are reasonable and the team is experienced. I typically get facials and ALWAYS leave feeling over the moon, relaxed and happy. The massage/facial beds are heated and all of products are organic and smell AMAZING so it's kind of like 2 in 1 aromatherapy as you're getting your facial :) They clearly state that the sauna/hot tub is additional on their website, so for the folks griping about that, it's probably best to simply read the info while booking rather than rip them for something that is stated upfront! I never expect to sauna or steam going into a facial service anyways, that just seems like an added perk/not to be expected. I digress.... if you want a perfect self-care day, book at Betty's!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE…read more They no longer offer the ability to soak as a part of your normal services, which is not advertised anywhere on their website. This is standard practice at any SPA, no matter what part of the world you are in. Doesn't matter if you are at the Ritz, Woldorf Astoria, Four Seasons, or a resort in Europe, Asia, or South America. When you go to a spa, you automatically have access to all the spa's amenities. This includes tubs and saunas. There are no spa amenities here. If you are paying premium prices, you would expect a premium experience. Keep looking because you are not going to get that at Betty's Day Spa. To make matters worse, their customer service is horrendous! One would think that, if there is a medical emergency, they would allow you to at the very least reschedule your services. They do not. Thank goodness I do not live here and can go back to my normal masseuse next week.

So, this experience overall was quite uncomfortable. I know it's a gamble finding a…read moreprofessional/quality massage establishment that accepts walk-ins. I have a regular place I go to, but it was a Sunday morning. My regular was closed and I was hurting. I decided on Chinese Massage because it was relatively nearby and had okay reviews (or any reviews, for that matter). Though they accommodate walk-ins, you can book online (however from other reviews, it appears they don't track their online booking system well). I booked an appointment 15 minutes out, just in case, and headed over there. It's located in a strip mall off of Eubank, just north of Constitution. Upon entering, no one was upfront, but someone came to greet me. The language barrier was quite significant and she didn't seem to understand when I said I'd booked online. She understood I was looking for a one-hour massage, so she directed me toward the back into a room with a floor lamp that had a disconcerting red light bulb, security camera monitors glaring down over the massage table and curtains along the back wall that covered what appeared to be something like rice paper wall/room divider. She then told me that I had to pay before the service, which I have never been asked to do at a massage business. I was uncomfortable doing so (especially since I typically use cash when dealing with smaller massage businesses, because I've had a few experiences where they "highly encourage" you to NOT use your credit card, so they can avoid merchant fees....and that conversation is also uncomfortable). That said, Chinese Massage does offer the option to pay with credit card. As for the massage, all I had to cover myself was a bath towel. The massage, for the most part, was lackluster. It was mostly rubbing oil along my contours, but no actual muscle manipulation. My massage therapist also left at least twice to go answer the front door. She did a decent job when it came to my hands, feet, and scalp. Afterwards, I was offered a bottle of cold water. Finally, the cost was $60 for the hour. While relatively inexpensive as far as many massage spa/facilities are concerned, I don't feel like I got $60 worth of relaxation.
