He was proactive about thinking ahead (advised me to get paint in advance, to match new clapboard he would paint after finishing the new roof), shared his knowledge (didn't just fix the problem but showed me the source: in my case, a rotted beam causing water to leak into the house), discussed various solutions (how the slope and location of the roofs on the main structure vs the bump-out prompted different considerations). He recommended a particular approach and materials (but was amenable to customer preferences) and discussed pros/cons (options for a rain diverter; shingles vs tar or whatever the other roofing surface was). He's licensed, insured and a hard worker who arrived on time, then worked steadily all through the day. I was equally impressed that he was respectful of my home (wiped his boots when entering the house; quickly shut the door on a cold winter day while we discussed the project; didn't want to sit down because he had been outside on the roof, sawing wood, waterproofing, laying shingles -- things like that). And I was pleased that he gave a very thorough estimate and came in on budget and finished on schedule. Previous to hiring him, I spoke with two people who Tyler did work for. Like me, they were very impressed and recommended him highly. They gave me lots of examples of what he did for them and why they respected and trusted him and appreciated his work. Both mentioned they'd called him back for additional projects -- a good sign.

We also wanted the front peak of the house and the flooring of the front porch painted. We also needed a storm door, and two windows replaced on the back of the house as the windows were old and the casement around the door was all rotted. Dan's quote was very reasonable compared to the other quites and we decided to go with Dan. Once he got the permits, Ruslan and Alex came and got to work. They first worked on the front part of the house doing the painting and also adding some hand rails to the front steps which we also requested. Then they did a great job taking apart the old porch and rebuilding the new one. When that was close to completion, Sergey and Vasily came and replaced the windows and storm door. I was very happy with the way they all workde and everything went well. I highly recommend Dan's Construction Services for your next project

Beautiful Landscaping & Construction was contracted by a remediation company to come in and put the…read morepieces back together after a multilevel flood in my home. The project manager said that Anthony had done good work in the past and was confident in his skill level. But it got to a point where I wouldn't allow his crew to return. The owner of the restoration company asked if I would give Anthony a second chance to come in and complete the tile work. The bathroom floor was straightforward and came out good. But the kitchen was a bit more complex and about 1/4 needs to be torn out. I actually had to explain edging and bullnose tile to him. The pictures are just a small representation of what they considered to be finished work...they had packed up and removed their equipment. I was speechless. There was wall paint all over my cabinets and molding, molding paint all over the ceiling and walls, and gobs of joint compound. The demo crew set up a plastic containment barrier. When it was removed, Anthony's crew painted over the adhesive residue left from the tape. A breakfast nook escaped damage except for a 6-8 inch stain on the ceiling. Instead of using stain blocker, the crew slapped joint compound on the stain and painted over it without sanding. In addition to being sloppy, they clearly do not have the skill to work in old homes. Additionally, they took down the motion sensor to the security system, lost half of the unit, and hung up what was remaining. No one recalls touching it - that's a $350 replacement and installation cost. They also covered my Corian sink in paint, lost the paint covered garbage disposal stopper, used my mop bucket and left it behind covered in crap, and let tons of construction debris pile up in a pantry sink that has 114 year old pipes. The restoration company had their demo guys come in to try and clean up the mess, but unfortunately the ceilings need major remediation and I have to hire someone else to come in to clean up the poor caulking and painting. Work time was already extended at least 1 week because of mistakes and sloppiness. I got the distinct impression that Anthony was juggling a lot. Judging from the reviews, he should drop construction from his business model and focus on the landscaping.

He also demoed a plaster kitchen ceiling which went well. In late July, though, he stopped showing up to take care of the lawn. We had a few back and forth conversations saying he would be there in the next few days, but that time never came.
