MasQmenos is a pretty good place to hang out with friends - as long as you're not particularly interested in eating. That's because it's set up as a coffee shop/bar, and the staff is neither particularly swift nor particularly friendly. Tip: I suggest that you avoid the vino tinto, which is the house wine. It tastes watery and acidic; to add insult to injury, the pours are decidedly stingy. If you have a lot of time to burn and you're dead-set on eating here rather than just grabbing a coffee, the do serve a few typical dishes with Iberico ham which are OK, but nothing to write home about. Their gazpacho and salad portions are decidedly on the small side, but their house made salad dressing is very good. Also in the plus column, the venue is well decorated. Despite that, I suspect that having dined here once, you (like me) will opt to settle for that and move on to better opportunities ;-) read more

We were wandering around, looking for somewhere to eat. I had read a translation of a review and had put it on my list of places to try. When we came down one of the streets, it's so much fun to get a little lost, they had just opened, so we thought, what the heck! The inside is cozy and inviting. They have these great cushy chairs and everything on their menu has pictures. We ordered a bottle of the Portia to start and the cheese sampler which went really well with the wine. There was a brie, a bleu, a munster(?), a hard white cheese(?), and this other one that was shaved like ruffles. Each one changed the flavor of the wine which was fun! We also ordered a jamon y brie tosta which was delicious! We had to order another bottle, so we went with the Luis Cana. Again, the places we have been have several really good bottles on their menu, and that's pretty much all they need. We also ordered the molten chocolate cake and lemon meringue pie. Both came with chocolate sauce swirls on the plate and whipped cream on the side. Our server, Ruben, was attentive and friendly. It didn't surprise us that we found ourselves back the next night for wine and dessert. This time we ordered the carrot cake and coco y Nutella (and another lemon pie). Ruben had recommended another bottle the night before, so we decided to try it. The carrot cake was alright, and the Nutella creation was okay, but they were fine to end the evening since we had that lemon pie again. The vibe is really great! It's right across the street from the Teatro, so tapas and a play would be great, or a play and after-play wine and dessert would be fun. The whole staff is very friendly. Maria! You are an amazing person. Thank you for making us feel welcomed in a new city. My friend and I are in Valencia for a short visit and we found MasQMenos through Yelp. The interior was very modern and inviting. We are so glad we came here, what a gem! We had a variety of items from their menu including the turkey sandwich, turkey salad, truffled mortadella with mascarpone cheese, superior Iberian ham with mozzarella and rocket, apple tart, yogurt with jam, and yogurt with raspberry ice cream. Everything was delicious! I liked their coca bread variations the most which is toasted bread with amazing toppings. So good! Saw the great yelp reviews and when a friend and I came to the restaurant, we thought it was going to be super expensive because it felt like such a high end restaurant. Soft comfy chairs, view into the street, great unique decorations of their signature jamon. But for 5.90 I got a beef onion and cheese sandwich and it was incredibly delicious. Just melted in my mouth. A friend got the jamon iberico and it was very affordable as well ~6 euros. Their smallest cana beer was also only 1.70 euro! Great place to just lounge and enjoy a cafe high end style like day in the old town. Staff is friendly and bathrooms are so clean! I would definitely go again. read more

The food and service here is consistently awesome! They have fast wifi, it's air-conditioned, and the waitresses are pretty. :) Fourth time here and so far everything I've ordered has been delicious. They specialize in Iberian ham so obviously those dishes are recommended! Also try the Gorgonzola or Goat cheese salad...you won't regret it. read more

After reviewing the "pictorial menu" near the entrance, we decided to try it. Biggest mistake we made. The person who was acting as wait staff (Raul Vancsa) apparently didn't enjoy his work. He was the rudest, most unhelpful waiter I have ever encountered. The chicken cordon bleu was also terrible. Kind of a touristy, incredibly average meal. While it wasn't exactly overpriced, it was underwhelming. A jamon and Gorgonzola salad had some very tired greens, with bits showing showing black decay on the fringes. The chorizo was pretty average, and instead of being offered the usual tomato bread as accompaniment, we got weird little cigar shaped mini bread sticks from a box and potato chips. Prime exponents of Spanish food culture? One would think not. Olives had decent flavor, but were quite mushy. Pimento stuffed with queso fresca weren't bad. The crowning moment was having a guy wander from outdoor table to table begging for change. This was a Sunday night, and almost everything else was closed. In the end, we would have been better served to wander a little further afield and seek out a little place where locals were smoking, snacking, and drinking. Eat here if you have to, but don't seek it out as a destination. read more
