My husband and I made the mistake of not holding money back from Canty Construction. It was the height of the pandemic and companies were panicking. I mistakenly felt that if we showed good faith in this company, they would reciprocate. I was wrong. They took our money, and failed to complete the work. I have maintained the documentation showing how they ignored our requests, locked us out of our project as punishment when we asked questions, and failed to complete work in a timely fashion. Yelp is not the place to argue my case, however. We'll do that in court. A year later we are still patiently waiting for contractual and warranty items to be completed. I ask for a timeline and only get vague replies. They have come back and fixed minor repairs, but more significant work is pushed back or refused, such as roof repair, and gutter installation, and even a plumbing repair. We paid 653,000 dollars. We are disappointed with the lack of clear communication, organization, and follow through. Because we paid in full, they are not rushing to complete poor and incomplete work.

We had our old driveway removed, trees taken out, drainage pipes had to installed and a large retaining wall built, the new driveway was re--sloped and we added berms along the sides for better landscaping. It was a lot more of work. Every day his team showed up early, worked long hours, were always helpful in answering questions, and even took the time to re-seed the area by the retaining wall and move large boulders for me to use in other garden beds, just because they could. It was great to have one, reliable and communicative person handle every single aspect of the project. We're hiring them again to do two house extension projects this year. The entire project team was great to work with, very responsive and highly organized. We really liked the project management app and 3D design software they used. Before bringing in the Core team my husband and I struggled with making decisions around the final design. However once we brought in Corey's team, they helped with determining the design elements and provided great guidance & suggestions that made the decision process much easier. The Core team was very flexible and happy to work with the company installing our AV system so all the design planning and scheduling was aligned. We highly recommend Core Remodeling and we look forward to doing additional home renovations with their team soon.

From my personal experience, I would not recommend hiring this company for any construction or…read moreremodeling work. My shower remodel which should have taken 1-2 days to complete took over one year and required three separate attempts by the owner, Graciano Machado, (aka: Greg) and his workers to complete. To this day, l am unable to use the shower as it will require me to have it demoed and repaired. Throughout the process of having my shower completed, I had several issues to include, my shower walls coming apart on two separate occasions due to improper install, the grout not being properly applied, leaving several holes and cracks throughout, the glass sliding door not closing fully, and much more. But the biggest issue of all, was that, Greg Machado violated basic sanitary building standards by failing to install a cement backer board, which is a required material in the State of Massachusetts to prevent moisture damage and ensure proper waterproofing. He was well aware of this, but did not correct it. Despite giving multiple opportunities and addressing my concerns to Greg and his team, they were not able to complete my shower correctly. I was met by constant delays to have my shower repaired, and i was met with some dishonesty from Greg's behalf. As a result of these issues, I pursued legal action through small claims court and was awarded a judgment in my favor. The matter is still ongoing as I work to collect that judgment which has yet to be fulfilled. I have also noticed that other individuals including a business have also pursued legal action through small claims against Greg, his wife (co-owner) and his business. From my experience, I strongly advise others to exercise caution before hiring this contractor.
