After soliciting a few bids for our bathroom repair & reno, we couldn't be happier that we chose Dan and the team at BC Custom Builders. Our project included permits, and all the typical trades. Dan was incredible throughout the entire project - and ultimately delivered on time and on budget. He managed the trades closely, and knocked the construction work out of the park himself. He was extremely communicative and responsive throughout the project - we were always in the loop, and Dan was ready to jump over any surprises hidden behind the walls the moment they arose. From the start, their estimate was the most reasonable compared to several other contractors we brought in, which made the decision easier. I also really appreciated that they were willing to work with me to fit the project into my budget without cutting corners on the overall quality. The quality of the work was solid across the board. They rebuilt and finished the space exactly as discussed, and everything I asked for was addressed. What really stood out to me, though, was their professionalism throughout the project. Communication was consistent and responsive, and they were reliable--something that, in my experience, isn't always a given with contractors. They also worked steadily without long gaps, which helped keep the project moving and largely on schedule. That made a big difference in minimizing disruption. Overall, I'm very happy with how the project turned out and would definitely recommend them to others looking for a dependable general contractor.

Carlos and team were quick to give a quote, were very transparent about what work needed to be done, and pointed out things that we had not considered in the process. The process took several days. We requested additional work be done midway, and a revised quote was delivered quickly, with work scheduled simultaneously with the existing project. When we noted that the site wasn't cleaned up yet (we had already moved out at this time but had scheduled a showing on short notice), Carlos had his team clean up quickly. Really enjoyed the end results!

Terrific job done by Boston Framers!…read more We had contacted seven other contractors before getting such a positive response from Boston Framers. Our initial inquiry was sent on a Saturday, but the owner, Ruy Barbosa, replied within an hour. He met us the following workday to go over our needs and discussed various options. He projected confidence at being able to renovate our deck yet maintain its overall look. He was willing to work with us and the city's historic commission to preserve some key features of the deck. During the course of the work, Ruy and his staff were responsive to questions or changes that we requested. Communication with them was great. They were eager to please us and found ways to make the project stay on-time and within budget, even when curve balls were thrown at them. Overall, they renovated our dilapidated deck boards with composite flooring. They removed heavy railings and pillars, completely overhauled the structural supports, installed the composite flooring and finally replaced the railings & pillars. Additionally, we had them pressure wash and paint the deck. The cost associated with the structural supports and flooring was very much in line with what we believed was reasonable. We liked their work so much that they have also redone our rear porch & steps. Currently we are waiting on estimates for three more home projects. Before and after photos attached

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

We would highly recommend Lambert & Sons Construction of Marlborough. We hired Christian and his…read moreteam to replace our front door and the VERY LARGE, heavy palladium window above it. For a reasonable price, we were able to get a higher quality window and door (w/sidelights) than the originals. They replaced rotted wood they discovered, and even had to contend with a huge carpenter ant colony that had settled in there! Everything was re-insulated and, to save us some money, Christian had his men carefully remove all the existing interior moldings to re-use them wherever possible. His attention to detail was very evident in the new exterior door surround he created by hand to match the window moldings. Our painter said that he's rarely seen such excellent finish carpentry. Christian's crew is very friendly and respectful and meticulous in their clean-up of the job site. If we ever need work done in the future, our one call will be to Lambert & Sons.

The first project we had Lambert and Sons do for us was our windows. For the same price as one of…read morethe "window replacement" companies, we were able to get higher quality windows that weren't just popped into place, but installed the same way a builder would. Not only was all of our shoddy construction corrected, but everything was re-insulated and Christian installed beautiful new mouldings that changed the entire look of our house. It was so nice to not have to call in different people for all of the construction problems uncovered while doing our windows. Christian was able to handle it all (or call in excellent sub contractors to handle things like electrical work). We loved Christian and his crew so much that we have had them come back to do our roof, laundry room, repair and redesign our front door, gutter removal and regrading. We will have them remodel our basement and kitchen in the near future. Christian has an eye for detail and the knowledge to do things right. Not only does Christian have these skills, but so does his crew. Everyone involved in our projects was wonderful to work with. Everything was completely cleaned up at the end of the day (something I noticed another roofer in the nieghborhood didn't do) and the crew even scoured the neighbors' yards to make sure nothing blew onto their properties. I felt completely confident leaving the crew in my home if I had to run out for awhile and they were also very pleasant to have around while I was in the house. I sometimes hesitate when a friend asks for a recommendation, but not with this company. I have recommended Lambert and Sons to quite a few people, and everyone has thanked me for the wonderful "find". Half my neighborhood has now used Lambert and Sons based on the work they've seen done on my house. I was prompted to write the review after my neighbor struck up a conversation with me yesterday about how he watched all the work being done on my home. This is the pickiest guy in the world. He is an engineer who does all his own work on his house and has an incredible eye for detail. He let me know that Christian did the work on my house exactly like he would do it on his own and that he was an "A+ professional". He even called him an "artist", and this is a guy who never says ANYTHING nice. My painter (another obsessively picky individual) also commented about the high quality of Chris Lambert's work and how easy he was to work with (as we had them doing simultaneous projects). Update 4/21/13 - We have now had Christian finish our basement. and are as happy as ever. Neighbors that used other contractors are impressed with how Chris designed and finished the space (he even designed and built the entertainment unit), and are shocked at how quickly and smoothly the project was completed. We have also recommended him to 2 more people that were both very happy with their projects.

Nate's head contractor carefully listened to all of our requests, needs and came back with reasonable pricing for the work to be done. He also educated us on multiple things that came up while the work was happening. We ended up deviating from our plan and went with his suggestions. Safe to say, we made the right choice.
