It would be best if you did a little research on reading a bit about the history and finding the exact location. We saw the bus stop, pulled over the side of the road, parked, ran full speed across the street and saw the little bridge entry and it was pretty much right there in front of you. I thought the bicycle would be bigger as I didn't see it right away. The front wheel is gone so all there is left is the rusted head tube and the front fork barely hanging on, rear fender and wheel is almost swallowed up by the tree. We were there for about 10 mins max, took some photos, looked around and done. There's an antique shop like a 50 yds away up at the corner, we went in there to check it out afterwards.

It's a great story of how a young boy tied his bike to a tree when he was drafted into serving in a World War and it was left there forever. There isn't a historical landmark or sign post like I would think. There are hardly any bike parts left and it's hard to tell there was a bike there to begin with now. It's about 7' in the air.

Maybe you are not aware of Los Angeles AFB...lol. One base that I "REPORT" to is Fort Lewis. Lt. Milanio reporting to duty at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Due to security, I will not go to specifics about JBLM. Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base combined makes, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). The two specifics spots that I love going to are the Commissary and the PX or the Post Exchange. Items purchased in the PX are tax free. Yep, another benefit of working and/or living in the base. Just like any other city, there are McDonald's, Burger King, bowling alleys, homes, movie theatres, and banks. You would never notice who are soldiers because they are all in civilian attire. Maybe the person writing this review is a **censored**. All I can say is JBLM is a great place for both soldiers and citizens. Well, I can't say too much here, but I am glad to visit JBLM from time to time. The one thing you will notice at JBLM....No, not the military vehicles, but the view of Mt. Rainier. I hope more people will visit to learn about the unfair and unjust treatments of the Japanese people. We were met at their temporary visit center by a volunteer named Clay. He was so nice and gave us a brief history of the Japanese American exclusion experiences. We did not know that the Japanese Americans on Bainbridge Island were the first group to be taken from their homes. And they were only given 6 days to get their affairs in order. The memorial was very nice and there's a beautiful view of the bay at the end. How it most have been so hard to leave the beautiful island home.

Summer quarter 1985 as a ferry commuter. Lots of fun crossing it with a scooter when it was much narrower. And tomorrow marks the third year of my late father's passing. We rented a boat from Port Orchard that enabled a family memorial service to scatter his remains near the renovated Manette Bridge. It was his wish to be able to see the ferries and the Naval Base Kitsap (or as we knew it as Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, moved to Bremerton back in 1973). Hey Dad, now you're on Yelp! Manette retains it's own identity even so, which isn't nearly as low class as the main city. Manette strives to be attractive and a mite upscale and mainly succeeds, but nothing pretentious, a comfortable village feeling to it all. The bridge has been rebuilt a couple of times so despite that it dates to 1930 today's bridge is not old (rebuilt in 2012), but it still has a rustic feeling to it. It used to be scary to walk across but now has a pedestrian walkway deserving of the name.

The last time I visited, we brought my friend's dog with us and he LOVED being able to check out all the forest-y areas. Many shops are also dog friendly. Very charming... love Bainbridge Island.
