Now you get to see the pretty tiles and visit the nice people that call this home.

There are advisories to not boil the water as it was tested and noted to have high levels of manganese, which boiling would concentrate and potentially cause health issues if consumed in large amounts.

There are already housing codes in place to protect and keep everyone safe. Call in a complaint and code enforcement can inspect the living conditions and force the landlord to make corrects or suffer fines. Other cities with similar registrations always increase fees and have yearly inspections where inspectors are paid several hundred dollars, but never inspect the homes. Hence, the provable corruption.

The process of scheduling, checking-in, and service were all outstanding. The person who completed the paperwork, took our photos, fees, etc., was helpful, friendly and efficient. I called Ben the director and Kyle the manager of emergency sevices multiple times over a week with no professional response back to provide service. Olivia Studbacker who is Leonard's secretary also does not have any professional outbound phone message stating who reached and when they will be back to return your service request. Staff are not at there post to answer the phone and provide services. Leonard lets staff work remotely in their slippers if they want instead of requiring they show up at the office for him to monitor the public is even recieving professional services from our staff. Oliva had the nerve to tell the upset customer that they were speaking to her with a hostile tone and took no responsibility for her unprofessionalism. When i tried to set a telephone conference to address this poor customer service coming from several of the staff members Oliva refused saying Leonard is very busy. She stated she would call me back by the end of the week after she spoke to Leonard. Olivia never called me back. This is unacceptable behavior from an entitled staff that extorts taxes to pay themselves while having no consequences for poor unprofessional conduct resulting in customers never getting service under Leonard Hernandez management style that serves the staff not the community members. Copy the good things we did and fix our mistakes and don't ever repeat them. This memorial is Awesome. I love that the names of those that fought for our freedom will always be here and we will never forget them. It's important that we never forget them. It's unfortunate that we need war memorials, but here we are. The memorial is in the shape of Vietnam's boundary. The names on the panels are listed in order of death, year by year. If I recall, those who are still missing in action are listed too. There are holes in the wall by the names to leave a flag, a note, a flower. One do-better I'd like to see is some way to look up by name and/or home town, what panel those you are looking for are on. It's quite moving to see the named of the approximate 1120 sons, brothers, husbands, dads. Many from my small home town went. Five were killed in action or in related combat activities. To me, none are forgotten. We were the town's children, classmates and some were friends. I drove to the post office and what looked like a St.Bernard and a German Shepard came from no where and just started fighting. Almost every house was a trailer as far as I can see. Nothing wrong with trailers or trailer parks if they're somewhat well kept, but ugh no. There is nothing in this town, of course, and it doesn't look like it get's much action. Glad this was my first and last stop in Bucoda.

At a first cursory glance, there is not much to it as there are only limited businesses to see. On my last trip there I was given a tour of the old Town Hall by one of the town officials and learned some fascinating facts about the two-story concrete building. Joe's Place serves excellent burgers and fries and has been a family owned and operated business for 113 years. They must be doing something right. The town once was the largest town in Thurston County and was around when Washington was still a territory. It was the location of the first territorial prison and had a huge lumber operation at one time. Definitely not ready for the bulldozers as one reviewer has said.

There are some historic buildings in town (the bank) and restaurants as well. It really takes you back in time.
