I cannot give The Little Farm high enough praise.  I just…read morehad my 2 year old daughter's birthday party here, and it was perfect, even in the 40 degree weather. And the owners Lynn and Bob are the nicest people you could hope to meet and spend the day with. They really made the party flow smoothly.  The animals are so lovely, and friendly. Especially Dolly and Blue! We had around 16 kids ranging in age from 11 months to 14 years old and they all had a great time and we're able to participate in feeding/riding/holding the animals.    The cost for this location for a birthday party is a bargain. We felt like we were under paying by the end.  I don't know if we'll ever top this one. And I have a feeling we'll be back.

The space is small enough for intimate gatherings, but definitely big enough to accommodate larger parties. The price was more than reasonable, worth every penny. Farmer Bob and Lynn are so kind hearted, genuine and warm, really great people - A kid's party is never an easy situation and they made it so simple and stress-free. They made every effort to involve all the kids, encouraging them and were enthusiastic about the animals they had on their farm. They knew all the kids by name and really made our son feel special. We were really blown away by our experience there. Everybody was raving about what a great time they had and still talk about it to this day.

It's across the street from a Park & Ride, where we parked our car. You'll see a bus stop with a bench across the street. Walk towards the private home and corner the bushes, you will see a small wooden bridge through the trees. Violå! You're practically there. There's not much of the bike left but still enough to see there's a bicycle that has been enveloped by the tree. The bike sits about 7 feet high. It makes one wonder how this could have happened. It was a great discussion to be had between hubby and I.

Forgot this was on Vashon Island, so we decided to stop by and check it out while in the area…read more It's located on Vashon Hwy SW behind a bus stop in the trees, there's not much of any other markers to indicate where to look. It would be best if you did a little research on reading a bit about the history and finding the exact location. We saw the bus stop, pulled over the side of the road, parked, ran full speed across the street and saw the little bridge entry and it was pretty much right there in front of you. I thought the bicycle would be bigger as I didn't see it right away. The front wheel is gone so all there is left is the rusted head tube and the front fork barely hanging on, rear fender and wheel is almost swallowed up by the tree. We were there for about 10 mins max, took some photos, looked around and done. There's an antique shop like a 50 yds away up at the corner, we went in there to check it out afterwards.

Other than visiting Norway the country, buying a ticket and travel across an ocean, my next dream…read morewas to visit Little Norway, just 30 minutes away from Seattle, only because in 2025 we're not flying anywhere Europe! AND I missed Norway! Last, my husband has a Norwegian DNA, I thought he'd appreciate it. If it weren't so hot, we'd see more what Little Norway has to offer. We did visited one of their best restaurants, visited some of the shops (no jewelry store is open on Sunday), antique stores, and actually hubby found a hoodie-less sweat shirt made from cotton! I actually want to spend the night here, so we could venture more, maybe get on the Viking ship and sail off somewhere, and visit the museum and other attractions. What would be a good time to visit is in November & December during their Holiday Festival, Julefest & Bazaar.

I came all the way from SF just for this event! One because I needed a mini vacay and two because…read moreSF has been slackin' and hasnt had one in almost two years! Anyhow, what an adventure trying to get here. No car, just public transportation. In short, our concierge at our hotel gave us wrong directions and we ended up having to walk/rent bikes for more than an hour to get here. First, I think they did a pretty good job overall. It was SUPER organized, and I loved that they money benefitted Hope Heart Institute. Each person who purchased a ticket was entitled to 6 mini cupcakes and they had a very cute punch card designed by none other than Cakespy herself. So, when we finally got there (about 2 hours into it) things were sparse. The first thing I did while here was run to Ms. Cakespy and take a pic with her. She was selling her awesome art there. Then, my pal Remy-Anne V and I went on a mission to grab as many different cupcakes as we could to try. There were many different vendors there, but I was expecting more cupcakes and more variety! Rems and I split 12 different cupcakes and our favorite was this carrot cupcake...sorry I cant remember who made it. They had an awesome spread of cupcakes designed and procured by professional and amateur bakers featuring most unique flavors, best seattle theme, and healthiest. Some of em were pretty impressive, I just wish we got to try some of them. It was also neat to have a few non-edible cupcake vendors. There was one woman who sold awesome cake bath bombs, and one who sold baby clothes cupcakes. So cute! Thanks Seattle for a fun event!

I just happened to run into her on the way to MarketFront Plaza. This is where you'll see that beautiful view of the bay off the sun deck. She actually raised $9 million for the market expansion campaign in 2011. People continue to support this cause by inserting money into the coin slot on her back. I tried to find Rachel, but she must have been hidden by the crowds of people around the fish market. These bronze piggy banks were sculpted by Georgia Gerber. It's kind of an interesting story. Just read about it online. You'll always know that a piggy bank is close by when you see the golden foot prints on the ground as you're making your way through the market. It's a great way to raise money for the market.

A friend of mine and I like to couple business trips with cool races in the city we're visiting…read more When we found out we were going to be in Seattle we immediately decided upon this event. Simple, cute little 5K around Green Lake. The event itself is good sized for a 5K - about 2,000 participants when we were there. Online registration was a breeze, as was packet pickup. The vendor area was much bigger than we were expecting. My partner in crime enjoyed the chocolate samples - it is a Valentine's Day race after all. The starting line organization was handled very well - good amount of portapotties (always a necessity), and clear signage for people to line up based on their expected time. About the only thing I didn't like was they allowed for strollers, which meant some artful dodging to start the race. The course is flat, flat, flat around the lake. If you're looking to PB this is a perfect spot to do that. The scenery is also wonderful around Green Lake. The atmosphere is very festive, and we thoroughly enjoyed the costumes. As for my race itself, well - after two miles I fell apart and struggled to maintain the pace I did the first two in. However, my friend encouraged me through the last mile and I managed to finish with a time of 23:43, 19 seconds off a PB. I'll certainly take that (even if she did beat me).
