Administration is incredibly inexperienced with essentially the most inexperienced being appointed as principals!!!. This shouldn't happen in schools that want to be taken seriously. It's definitely "a club" where the few that are tight knit all somehow become administrators five minutes after becoming teachers. These inexperienced administrators are arrogant and use dodge and bully tactics to overcompensate and mask their inability to effectively lead. The school has incredibly high teacher turnover rate and many new teachers have ZERO experience and absolutely NO education credentials. Not sure how they get away with it but they do. read more

The school is outstanding. The children are expected to perform to their level. to develop character develop appreciation of our culture. I can't say enough of good things about the school. I had an outstanding education, but this read more

The schools staff and current vice principal Sandra vanvlymen is what prompted me to give one star I have been waiting to leave Mason classiCal to write this. first ms vanvlymen and ms mauer both of the worst staff in mca not to mention the are both vice principals they do not deserve to they both carry a list of kids to " target" and constantly make the experience worse then it already is. ms vanvlymen has broken the schools non discrimination policy as she always targets a specific group everytime. she makes small things into big deals and mentally hurt all the kids there. from a young age the children at MCA its normal for staff to yell and them and be unessasarly rude. ms case and ms Rutherford are other reasons why this school is horrible. Ms Rutherford attacks the student willingly attempts to hurt mentally the student and always looks for things to say that are wrong. Ms case is extremely rude to all the children there and even the parents. This school is not worth sending your kids to, and if your sending your kids here, don't. read more

To start this review off, I am a 10th grade student at Mason Classical Academy. I saw the two 1 star reviews from Gail L. And Katherine A. They are bogus. Mason Classical Academy is a great school and I would recommend to anyone looking for a prestigious high school. The teachers don't be student students, and they most certainly do not gossip behind each other's backs. About the 3 Spanish teachers, the first one wasn't doing his job all too well. The second Spanish teacher wasn't fired, but instead she had to leave due to health problems. The third Spanish teacher is a temporary fill-in because it is almost the end of the year. Even though the third Spanish teacher doesn't speak full Spanish, she is doing her best at teaching the classroom. Now about the teachers; the teachers here are wonderful. They care about how the students are doing, and invest their full-time into instructing and building up each child so that they will succeed when they get to college. For example, Mr. Schmidt invests the entire year meeting with students about college prep. He is an amazing guy who sets up schedules to meet the students needs. He also meets personally with students in order to get a better understanding of how he can help them succeed. Mason Classical Academy is a strict school, but that is to be expected in such an environment of kids who don't like to be told what to do. There are rules and guidelines that need to be followed, but if everyone were to do it, there would be no issues. I have been at Mason Classical Academy since the second grade, and I am excited to graduate from it in two years. To anyone looking for a wonderful school to put their child in; a school, where they don't have to worry that their kid will fail, then I highly recommend Mason Classical Academy to them. Please don't be discouraged from those negative, bogus reviews, which were obviously wrote by disgruntled students, but instead take advice from this student who actually appreciates what MCA has done for him. read more

Many Teachers are bullies to younger teachers. Mostly older women teachers and the hag in the front office (not the sweet young lady at front desk). These rude, hateful teachers are hateful to younger teachers in front of the students and They sit around talking about these young teachers IN FRONT OF STUDENTS! Do they have nothing better to do? You would think these women would have grown up since grade school. They can't seem to keep a Spanish teacher. (Last two teachers were young adults, beautiful, kind and the kids loved them). One teacher left on maternity leave and never returned and the latest Spanish teacher had to resign due the detrimental effects on her mental and physical health from such horrible treatment by adult bullies who are threatened by beautiful, kind and extremely effective Spanish teachers. My child as well as other students were devastated to see these young passionate teachers leave. The students were really learning and advancing in Spanish which was always a struggle before. Now Spanish is an online class and the students have an "observer" instead of a teacher. How efficient is that going to be? This is simply shameful! Bullying should not be tolerated from students or teachers. When is Administration/Management going to step up and address this problem. Of course, I'm using a pseudonym because I don't want them bullying my child in retaliation of my review. read more

I have worked at MCA both as a teacher and an administrator and I love being a part of this school! As a teacher, it was a joy to teach the incredibly rich classical curriculum and I love that I was treated like a true professional. Administration is very supportive when it comes to student behavior or data analysis, so I could focus my time on planning and delivering quality lessons to my students. The parents are very involved and there's a great sense of community throughout the building and during carline. Now, I work as an administrator and I love working with teachers and parents to ensure the success of every student! read more

they would always whip the students with desk and lock them in closets. My kid has permanent trauma, and would cry on the way to school every single day she would get Beat with belt if she was at a dresscode And it has suicidal thoughts every day. They were lie to the kids and me and wanted us to think that it was a good education, even though it was horrible. NEVER send your kid there read more

Before my family moved to Naples, I researched nearly every school in the area. After a lot of looking, we picked a neighborhood that offered a combination of the best performing elementary and middle schools. For more than three years, it was a pretty good experience for our family, especially my daughters. We learned about an alternative option - a new charter school with a lottery-based system to get in. Growing up in Poland in the 80's and 90's, I knew nothing about charter schools. We applied anyway and my daughters were fortunate enough to be selected. We knew things would be different from the moment we toured the school. While the outstanding classical education and curriculum drew us in, Mason Classical Academy offered so much more. As a family, we never expected that Mason Classical Academy provides more than a wonderful classical education. They also work hard to help students overcome the flaws of our society today and avoid the mistakes that were made in raising the Millennial generation. What do I mean? Well, each morning students stand with their right hand on their heart to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble to the Constitution - and that's just the beginning of what's different. At Mason Classical Academy students understand that whoever does not know their history is doomed to repeat it. Most importantly, they understand that history did not begin with the Mayflower. Ask any 4th grader at this school, and they will tell you Marco Polo is not just a game you play in the swimming pool. And 6th graders don't confuse Julius Caesar with a pizza place. Children are taught and expected to respect their teachers, parents, and other authority figures. After all, it will be expected of them when they enter the workforce. Every student is taught to look at the world and their actions through a prism of the eight pillars of virtue: Responsibility, Respect, Perseverance, Integrity, Honesty, Courage, Citizenship and Cooperation. After all what good is knowledge without character? Here, there is no instant gratification and no trophies for participation. You don't become a "student of the week" just because it's your turn. Here you learn that the only road to achieving your goals and recognition is hard work, consistency, and patience. And when you are recognized for your achievements nobody questions why. Students are truly proud and become role models for their peers. Let me give you an example: The first year my daughter attended, we went to a ceremony celebrating students for their outstanding academic achievements in June. At that moment both of my daughters decided to do everything possible to be on that stage the following year. They set goals for themselves and made a plan. So far they are doing their best to get there. Why? Because in real-world average is never rewarded, excellence is! At this school, there is no race to read the most Sunshine State books the fastest. Instead, through discussions of classical literature, history, and debate, students learn to form their own opinions. They learn it is perfectly acceptable to have a different point of view and that having a different opinion from your best friend doesn't make you better or worse. Students learn to respect their friends even if they don't agree with their opinions. Considering what goes on in society today, don't you agree this is a real skill they need to have as adults? We never expected that everyone at Mason Classical Academy from the administrative staff to the teachers and leadership would truly pour their hearts and souls into something so much bigger than themselves. They are on a mission to not only provide outstanding education but also mold our children into responsible, intelligent citizens that Learn the Truth, Do the Good, and Love the Beautiful. read more

Great school! The best education.

It has been a great experience . very lucky to be part of this institution. Curriculum/ administration/teachers are great .

They don't care about your child unless they are doing well and getting good grades WITHOUT help. They are a very independent school, so if your child struggles in ANY way, do NOT send them here. They will watch your child struggle and don't try to help at all. I have asked for help from my child's teacher, and have been refused help due to them being "independent". This is my sons first year, so instead of teaching him and giving him the tools to be successfully independent, they just expect him to be one his A game at all times. I've been lied to about the help my son receives, and every time I talk to someone they contradict everything they say. LIARS!! I've caught them multiple times in their lies MR HULL: I don't need to play blame games. I got FACTS. this is NOT a drill. This school is only successful because they run all of the kids that cause them problems away. I've been told different things by different teachers about the same thing. I just had a meeting with the principal, and he couldn't handle that I was STATING FACTS. They want my son to study for his tests, but I've told them I need the materials to help him because he is struggling to get them down in class, yet they refuse. I've asked them to put him in a slower math class because he needs to take more time on his work, and they have yet to do that saying that it's not a math classes fault that he's failing, but his math teacher and normal teacher have both agreed that he struggling in the faster paced class. He is an IEP program which is supposed to help him because he's behind naturally, so I don't know who's dumb idea it was to put him in a faster paced class. My son is very smart. Before we came here he got way better grades than he is now they told me that the school was a note based school because they don't have textbooks, yet my son can't complete his notes in class sometimes so it's incomplete and we don't have the materials at home to help him, but every time I bring it up to them they ignore it and try to talk about something else. Hell this school is so stupid, they couldn't even get my emails correct on my children's emergency contact sheet which was right in front of them. I filled out the information three times for them to get it correct, and it's STILL not correct. Don't let it being a charter school make you feel like it's a better school, because only reason why they're still in business is because It gets funded by collier county public schools. My sons teacher now told me that her daughter goes to that school and has no extracurricular activities because she have to spend all of her time doing schoolwork. That's not what I want for my kids, and nobody should want their kids to be so focused on school that they forget to be a child. My daughter goes there and her treatment is 1000000 times different (she's VERY smart) I've had parents who send their kids to this school tell me to leave and not come back. They still are there and their kids hate it. My kids say how boring it is. They have recess on the street where we pick up and drop off. And it's very unorganized, traffic and cars everywhere, and the school is in a horrible location. I called many people including DCF, and they told me to RUN.. RUN FAR!!! They were right. I should have listened.. so here's your chance. Don't ruin your kids lives and well being!! So many BETTER schools to go to! Your kids also cannot do ANYTHING. No nail polish, cell phones, I just learned recently that they aren't allowed to do a particular dance(dab) which i'm so confused about. RUNNNNNNNNN!!!!!! Ps not every employee is bad, I love Ms. Kay, and the woman at the front desk! Nice ladies. Get them a good job!!! They were just in the news for fondling little girls, and now it's about to be for neglecting special needs kids.. :( not a good month for this school read more

I really could not be happier with my 10 year old son's school. He attended 1st and 2nd grade at a A+ rated school in Collier County and it was not good at all. I won't go into detail, but I saw many, many things that were not right and my son really didn't grow and excel much between the 2 grades. He started at MCA in 3rd grade, the year they opened and he is now finishing up 5th grade and doing incredibly well. The school is focused on teaching our kids academics with a fantastic classical curriculum, as well as character building and they are challenged daily. There are No issues with indoctrination like we experienced in the regular public schools. They don't waste time on "bring your own devise" nonsense. Elementary children need to focus on the basics, period. My son has had fantastic teachers and has made some really great friends. He is proud to go to this school and our plan is for him to graduate from Mason Classical Academy. The Principal and all the administration are truly committed and it shows each day. I recommend MCA to anyone who wants their children to get a rigorous, challenging, well rounded education. Schedule a tour and decide for yourself. read more
