Our son has attended and still attending the TVS. All of his teachers have been great! They remember him many years after they left their class! The community of staff and parents is amazing. My son loves going to school. We left for a couple years and have returned after trying another private school and a charter in Naples. The only reason we left was for personal financial reasons. The school brags about a strong AP curriculum. However, I would encourage prospective parents to inquire how many AP classes are actually currently being taught. Also ask what the AP test passing rate is for each class. And, yes, schools do receive this data. I would also encourage parents to inquire how many current TVS upper school students are enrolled in virtual online classes to supplement holes in the curriculum. Ask what the student retention rate is. Ask what the average SAT and ACT test scores are, and ask for proof. The academics in the upper grades are especially dismal. Both student and staff turnover are very high. We greatly regret staying in TVS despite the many red flags, but our horrible experience with the upper school was the final straw. read more

We had an absolutely terrible experience at this school, from the numerous teachers without teaching degrees to the school repeatedly removing promised programs or activities after tuition deposits were paid. Unfortunately, we left our children at the school long after it became clear that they were suffering from subpar instruction and a constant turnover of staff in the middle of the year. For instance, my eldest daughter had 3 different math teachers (in the same math class) in the same year because teachers kept leaving the school. In a subsequent year, my daughter was assigned to a math teacher with no prior teaching experience and no teaching degree. When many of the students were doing poorly, the entire class was berated by the teacher who accused them of all being poor students. The school had no interest in addressing the situation (staff turnover is constant), so we eventually had to place our child in a Florida virtual school math class, in which she excelled and ultimately received an A. She was supposed to take this class online during an open study block at the school, but frequently was not able to attend virtual sessions because the school's WIFI was frequently not working. I could share so many stories of our own experiences and those we've heard from other parents that are absolutely appalling in my opinion. We left the school for a public school and our kids (in elementary, middle, and HS) all comment daily how much better their experience is now. Before you enroll your child, I highly encourage you to talk to parents of children who are no longer at the school, using resources such as Nextdoor and the Facebook Naples Mom group. read more
