It's definitely "a club" where the few that are tight knit all somehow become administrators five minutes after becoming teachers. These inexperienced administrators are arrogant and use dodge and bully tactics to overcompensate and mask their inability to effectively lead. The school has incredibly high teacher turnover rate and many new teachers have ZERO experience and absolutely NO education credentials. Not sure how they get away with it but they do.

Teachers who have the honor to teach here never leave out of choice. Strong academically, many send their children here instead of private schools in the area. There are many after school programs and sports as well. All the extras you expect as well as other courses. MISSION: Our mission is to train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a classical education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue. Naples Classical Academy develops within its students the intellectual and personal habits and skills upon which responsible, independent, and flourishing lives are built, in the firm belief that such lives are the basis of a free and just society. The Academy strives to offer enrichment and to develop character through both curricular and extracurricular offerings, to nurture the child’s humanity with a constant view to the potential adult. The time-honored liberal arts curriculum and pedagogy direct student achievement toward mastery of the fundamentals in the basic academic skills, exploration of the arts and sciences, and understanding of the foundational tenets of our Western heritage.

Also ask what the AP test passing rate is for each class. And, yes, schools do receive this data. I would also encourage parents to inquire how many current TVS upper school students are enrolled in virtual online classes to supplement holes in the curriculum. Ask what the student retention rate is. Ask what the average SAT and ACT test scores are, and ask for proof. The academics in the upper grades are especially dismal. Both student and staff turnover are very high. We greatly regret staying in TVS despite the many red flags, but our horrible experience with the upper school was the final straw.

Seacrest is a pre K -12 grade school and I do not know the entire school student population but I know that the high school population is around 150, so obviously it's a small school. Seacrest is a close knit community that is extremely welcoming to newcomers and as far as the high school goes I have not met one person who came to Seacrest for a semester and felt unsatisfied. Because of the smallness of the community coupled with the numerous clubs and sports students are for the most part, verry well rounded. For example I am currently a member of 3 sports: XC, Basketball, and track and field, along with being involved with chorus and a active member of the robotics team. Seacrest has class sizes usually of about 15 to a class which enables students to develop strong relationships with teachers who are extremely caring, hard working, and well expirienced for those who desire to succeed in their class. All and all, I love Seacrest it has built me to the young adult I am today, and think that it has provided me the skill sets for life that I will use forever

They encourage growth in the community, leadership, and integrity while preparing students for college all at the same time! Teachers at Seacrest strive to tailor academics to the individual so that each student can get the extra push they need to work harder than they knew they could. There are lots of clubs to join ranging from growing in service to academically based clubs. The school is its very own community where upperclassmen talk to lowerclassmen, and vice versa, everyone is included and everyone learns what it means to be apart of something even bigger than themselves. Seacrest's campus is truly unreal, almost as if it were a school out of a movie. The sports there is a wonderful way to work on team building and create new relationships with other students you may not always hang out with, and they are great for the growth of the individual. Seacresters are from all over, every student practices making new lasting relationships with people throughout the school and it is amazing to watch it happen before your eyes. I highly recommend Seacrest to anyone looking for Elementary, Middle, and College Preparatory High School education. Seacrest is truly an amazing place.

How this is handled can be different to you, who is not involved in the system to a parent that is. So if you want to get a little more, get involved. The schools cater to below average to slightly above average. Below average get a lot of help, while very smart kids are left in the dark. Parents of exceptional students should be informed on courses that will stimulate, beyond what the school has to offer. In our case we were not. Nobody was. We had to figure advance course options like FLVS starting in elementary school, ourselves. There is nothing 'exceptional' about that CCPS. CCPS has a full time lawyer and because they create so many issues, just by being rude, they need it. The more issues that are created, the more job security the law department has, so they keep them busy with fresh issues all the time. Its not a satisfactory way to focus on education. And its gone on for decades. I could write a book about all thats CCPS has to offer. From the terrible parking for parents and students at Gulf Coast High School, to the bus drivers, some good, some bad. We could go onto the promoting of religion and religious locations being used for mandatory events by the schools. We could talk about the handing out of bibles on school campuses. We could talk about kids bringing weapons to school and the 'kick a Jew' day in one of the middle schools. Yes, we experience it all in little Naples.
