Dr Mashour gave me a no-show, no-call missed appointment that cost me an afternoon of work. So unprofessional that I will never return.

More general Info. off the internet. Let the buyer beware!! More states are passing laws to…read moreregulate this. States are taking steps to regulate or prohibit unfair facility fees in healthcare, particularly concerning outpatient services. What are facility fees? Facility fees are extra charges added to medical bills by hospitals or health systems for services delivered at hospital-owned clinics or practices, even if those services are not provided within the main hospital building itself. Why are facility fees being addressed? Facility fees have become a point of concern because they can result in unexpected, higher medical bills for patients who may not realize the physician's office is considered a hospital outpatient department. State Legislation and Initiatives: Growing momentum: As of September 2024, 18 states have passed legislation addressing facility fees, demonstrating increasing state-level focus on protecting consumers from these unexpected costs. Specific Prohibitions: Outpatient services: States like Connecticut, Indiana, and Maine have gone furthest in prohibiting facility fees for selected outpatient services typically provided in an office setting. Telehealth: Some states, including Connecticut, Maryland, Ohio, and Washington, have specifically targeted facility fees for telehealth services. Preventive services: New York has prohibited facility fees for preventive care. Transparency and Disclosure: Some states, including Florida, Louisiana, Minnesota, and Texas, now require hospitals to notify patients about facility fees beforehand. Model Legislation: Organizations like the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) have developed model legislation to guide states in addressing these issues, including prohibiting facility fees for services outside of a hospital's campus and requiring annual reporting of facility fees. Bipartisan Support: Efforts to lower healthcare costs and address unfair billing practices, including facility fees, are seeing bipartisan support in state legislatures and in the U.S. House of Representatives. Federal Efforts: The No Surprises Act, effective January 1, 2022, protects patients from surprise bills for emergency services at out-of-network facilities or for out-of-network providers at in-network facilities. It also includes provisions for transparency regarding hospital price transparency. In summary, states are increasingly enacting laws to address unfair facility fees by: Prohibiting facility fees for certain outpatient services. Requiring hospitals to disclose facility fees to patients in advance. Implementing reporting requirements for facility fees. Working to establish site-neutral payments for certain services. These state-level efforts, alongside federal initiatives, aim to protect consumers from unexpected and potentially costly medical bills associated with facility fees.

This did not help me very much, as I felt like an animal stuck in a cage, completely helpless and devoid of any means of survival all night. I would suggest a more patient-driven attitude of the nursing personnel who are in involved in the process of administering the test.
