I would never recommend this place to anyone. As it shows Indian cuisine but no where near it. Not…read morethe quality expected at all. Butter chicken was extremely sweet despi the ordering guy said he would get it hot. and the pilua rice tasted nothing but tumeric. And the biriyani the worst with chickpeas in it not anywhere close to the "hyderbadi biriyani" this place demands you to order £26 per person and not going to take order if it doesnt fit . Not taking our appetite into consideration. The staff told us in a rude way about the restraunts rules of ordering the quantity even though we werent hungry. But we are sorry that they couldnt get what they wanted even if they blackmailed us to order more per person and that we cannot order less. If ur going to this place dont consider as an indian restaurant. I dont think its fair for give so much hype to this place when u dont serve quality food. There are much better places to visit. And they lie to us on the review that we get free food and drinks. Which is not true we paid almost £113. For low quality food. Definitely not worth it.

Placed right by Nottingham Trent Uni this seems like the sort of restaurant you'd take your folks…read moreto if you were studying and they wanted a curry. Seemingly staffed by men only they gave the ladies the menus first and then brought their meals first which is all well and good. They then brought over roses for the ladies and I wasn't terribly comfortable with this. The staff were quite jokey/banter which loses it a 2nd star which is a real shame as the food itself was very nice and tasty.

I had read mixed reviews of The Curry lounge and wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it but I was…read morepleasantly surprised. We had booked a table for 8 and although we were early, we were seated as soon as we arrived. The waiters are very attentive. We didn't go 10 minutes at a time without a waiter coming to see if we were ready to order or if everything was OK or if we wanted anymore drinks etc We were only there 5 minutes before we were chomping away on Popadoms which arrived in big round baskets complete with a tray of pickles. Our starters weren't far behind and the waiters were efficient and serving and clearing away. I am not a fan of curries really so I ordered the Lamb Korma which was delicious. I ate all of it and finished off all the rice too. The manager came over to see if we were enjoying ourselves and when we told him we were celebrating my friend's birthday he arranged a little surprise and sent over a complimentary glass of his favourite whisky along with a little cake with a candle on top which tasted delicious and really made my friend's night. I love the decor and the lighting and the place has a great atmosphere. I probably wouldn't go again as I said I am not really a fan of Curries but I would urge anyone who does like them to try it out :)

So, the Gordon Ramsay thing I believe they made a very astute move in securing themselves a place…read moreon that show. This is a curry house - with a difference. The difference is that they keep telling you about Gordon Ramsay. The curry is okay - probably a little more fancy than I would like, and when i say fancy, i mean bland. I know good food, and I know bland food served on an attractive plate. I want drama in a curry house. I want someone to order a vindaloo and cry from the hotness. I want to see a naan bread as big as the table. I want an unidentifyable substance that looks too luminous for its own good to be in one of the pickle trays. I want lots of dishes to be on the table and not be able to fit everything on. This ain't got it - it's got a weak story about Gordon Ramsay. Check out the Mem Saab for great fine dining curry - only two minute walk from this place, or any number of good curry places in Nottingham for a late night slap up curry and beer session.
