The tikka masala is really good, and the tandoori fish is my favorite. Ambiance is good, a little formal so nice for a date night. The prices are good, but the wait staff is a little awkward. You get different service in England than you do in America - it's never quite as friendly because they aren't being tipped, but I felt the service was always very good for English standards.

The prawn cake was a bit of disappointment as it's similar price as other real prawn dish but didn't taste that great. The pork ribs were all right, not amazing. The scallops dish were a nice surprise & tasted good because of the oyster source. The menu didn't have many choices like many authentic Chinese restaurant would have done. Maybe because this is a Cantonese restaurant targeted for British customers. The location & atmosphere were very good. It's next to a big park with lots of parking spaces. The decoration was beautiful for a romantic dinner or family gathering.

Biggest problem was that in the restroom after my meal, a cook came in and used the facility, but then left without washing his hands. I wonder what else goes on in this establishment that isn't up to safety standards?

This branch is always reliable…read more The menu may not change much over the years - you probably know what you're going to have before you arrive! - but the quality is consistently high, and it's good value for money. The staff are always charming too. The rather later opening hours than many other restaurants in the centre of the city is helpful: it has saved me from starvation numerous times when I've arrived late visiting the town.

They used to give you a choice of either from the menu which was great for me when I was in two minds or if I wanted Thai and my partner wanted Indian. I really like Momentos, mainly because they serve the nicest pizzas ever…read more They have that thin base which makes margaritas taste delicious. Momentos is an italian restaurant that is very, very small, so i would recomend you make a booking just to make sure you get a seat. They sell all the usual italian food, a great assortment of starters, main courses, including things like pasta, lasagne and some really nice desserts. Momentos may not offer anything special or different that no other store has but what they do give is really, really nice food. I would recomend this place to all, although i really have to emphasise how small this place is, if a few families come here to eat youre all just gna be crammed in.

The prices of the food are bang on and iv never had to make any complaints with them so far. The food always arrives hot and is very filling. The only thing i would say is it would be great if they would do free delivery if you order over a certain ammount but there it a standered delivery charge no matter what you order but its worth it for the great prices and great food.. also every now and then i get a free fortune cookie.. How nice is that! :) and as i order from hear quite a bit.. it would be so nice if i got free fortune cookie each time i ordered from hear :) i chinese xx

I rate this place on the high side because the food tastes good. I wasn't expecting decent Thai food in Burton. I might rate this place 3 stars if it were in a big city. In a remote place like Burton, I have lower expectations and greater appreciation when ethic restaurants do a decent job.

Baan Thai is located on the outskirts of the Burton town centre. It is a very popular restaurant…read moreand also does takeaways, so its probably best to book. No parking for the restaurant itself, but there is handy public car park across the road. The restaurant has ornate wood carvings on the walls flanked by immitation pink bricks, and artificial orchids and ferns. I'm not a huge fan of artificial flowers but the whole look to the restaurant really works, making for a great atmosphere. Presented with plush velvet covered menus, with an amazing range and variety of dishes, we would have normally ordered a set meal. Not tonight though, we picked five mains and three different rices. The starters also looked very impressive, but we decided to plump for just the mains, as Baan Thai is a fairly pricey restaurant. The menu also has a handy chilli rating from none to three, if you choose three, good luck! Our impressively presented dishes arrived, each adorned with a generous side salad. The chicken, fish, duck, aubergine and vegetable dishes we had ordered surprisingly complemented each other very well. The rice was sticky and absorbed the flavour of the food well. Whilst not huge portions, all five of us felt we had eaten well. A good range of desserts and a pot of Jasmine tea finished off a great evening. Be aware though Baan Thai is not a cheap restaurant, particularly if you go for the set meals.

There always seems to be a bit of line waiting both lunchtimes and in the evenings which speaks to their products. Their cod and haddock is always cooked deliciously crispy in batter and the portions of thick chips are crazily generous. Mrs G and I typically visit once most weeks - two pieces of fish and one regular chips - even then between the two of us we only manage to eat half the chips!! Why only 4 stars Brian? Well my FAVORITE fish is Rockfish (actually a small shark) - IMO the BEST fried fish on the planet (try it you will love it). It is a rare find in the fisheries sadly - I would likely fight to give them 6 stars if they offered this too
