Their Shahi Chicken Jeera Massala is fabulous. There is some off street parking hidden round the back if you drive down the very narrow alley along the right of the restaurant (as you look at it from the road).

The premises are decorated in the 'curry house style' without being kitschy and the Indian muzak played is not too loud - actually I've become quite fond of it! Thanks to the division of the place into three separate areas it is possible to accommodate couples as well as larger parties without the one disturbing the other. The customer service is second to none (hot towels and complimentary chocolates) and the staff are very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It does however get very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, so there may well be quite a wait in between courses. On these nights I recommend visiting after 8.30pm. The menu offers a great selection of traditional dishes for both starters and main courses, as well as a selection of specials - I can heartily recommend the tandoori mixed grill (served with a naan bead), the garlic lamb and the chicken chana. The vegetable side dishes, rices and breads are all of exceptional quality. Everything is served in very generous portions. Don't leave room for dessert, it's not worth it. There is bottled and draught beer available as well as wine and softdrinks. The full menu is available to take away for which there is a 10% discount and only a half hour wait from order to collection.

Stopped in here for lunch while driving from London to Liverpool on a gloomy, rainy day because I…read morewas craving noodle soup and the reviews were incredible. It was set about 15-min from the A6 but wow was it worth the detour! They have a massive menu with foods from all over east Asia. We decided to share a starter of salt & pepper short ribs. The husb opted for Singapore noodles (his favorite) and I was going to order spicy combination noodle soup but was recommended to try the Spicy Tom Yum Noodle Soup the was on the specials board. I love tom yum so it was a no-brainer to take the recommendation. The short ribs were delicious. Perfectly fried so they were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and they were covered in a delectable salt, pepper, garlic, and onion topping. (chef's kiss) The Singapore Noodles were a healthy portion and OMG the meat was SO TENDER. Sorry for yelling, but I needed to make sure everyone understood. Sometimes meat can be overcooked slightly and a little chewy, but they have perfected the art of meat here! The Spicy Tom Yum Noodle Soup was brimming with ingredients and was massive! The combination is their house mix of meats and seafood. Again, the meat was INCREDIBLY TENDER! The seafood was plentiful and also cooked to perfection. I was able to stop myself from stuffing it all into my face so I could wrap up a third of it for future me. I found both dishes to be decently spicy and the server let me know that both were level 1 spicy so I'll definitely kick it up a notch next time I'm back. I think the husb will happily stay at level 1 . The chefs come from Hong Kong and we gave our compliments to the chef over the short wall separating the kitchen from the dining area. This place is now a must-stop for us when we drive from London to the North and it should be for you too!

Asian fusion? Chinese crossed with Japanese and a side of vietnamese?…read more It's a bit hard to pin point the exact origins making up Wofon, but that's what makes it such an exciting treat. There are three steps when ordering -- choosing your noodles (or rice), topping and sauce. Noodles vary from the traditional Japanese ramen (wheat noodles), Udon (thicker wheat noodles), or perhaps a classic Chiense Dan Meen (egg wheat noodles). The toppings selection varies with Wofon special (selection of meats, prawn, roast pork), mixed seafood, or roast duck, for example. And lastly, the sauces. Selection can be Chinese Szechuan spicy, curry, or Japanese teriyaki. What I love about Wofon (aside from their amazing cheap prices) is that there is such a plethora of selection choices. You can order soup noodles one day, mixing noodles another, mixing rice, or wok fried rice. The selections are completely endless! I also strongly recommend the spare ribs with barbecued sauce as a starter. And the banana with vanilla ice cream as a dessert. And for £2.50, you can't beat the price. Enjoy!

The food is classed as pan asian which is great as I love all asian food. However, the sushi, although very good, I feel it is slightly overpriced for what you get. The duck, especially at lunch, is amazing value though. Plenty for 2 to share. This is definitely a place to try out if you love asian food.

My first visit to Sakana and I was pleasantly surprised at how its interior looked (more so the delicious smells wafting over as you passed by their open kitchen). We were seated in a corner with decent views of the goings-on, and set about conquering the menu - the group was almost military in its tactics, dividing the menu's sections between ourselves to make sure we got to sample lots of different dishes. Three of us ordered a bottle of their house red (a Merlot) which was actually quite good - a bit on the peppery side but I really liked it. The food started to arrive after a bit of a wait, but we'd had some prawn crackers to whet our appetite. The sashimi platter that I ordered for us all to share was a bit disappointing (usual price £28 for 15 pieces). I can't think of anything else that was particularly underwhelming; the combo of orders was all rather good - but the highlights for me were the Taiwanese buns which you could have with shredded duck or pork belly (we ordered both). These were absolutely heavenly, for want of a better word. Service was friendly, if not a tad haphazard at times; it's definitely somewhere to consider for date night. That being said, you'd have to be happy 'flashing the cash' as I don't think it's worth the full price they'd ordinarily be charging diners.
