Absolutely incredible food, first time ordering from Masala Box and I was nothing but impressed I will for sure be back!

Dee! Lightful! Loved the masala in AND out of the box. Small dining space and food is made to order. It was all vindalicious!

Absolutely delicious! We started with freshly made samosas. The vindaloo shrimp and chicken masala were generous servings with amazing flavor. We finished it up with their coffee and a mango lassi. Excellent customer service. We look forward to returning here soon! What a fantastic discovery. read more

Amazing portions and home cooked flavor. Very picky when it comes to Indian food and this place does not disappoint!!

Great tasting food. Good clean home made flavor, and style. Very nice people. This is one of my favorite all time places to eat. A real treat every time. read more

TONS of FAKE REVIEWS HERE!!! They're all very much the same bullshit !! try reading the ones that are not giving more than one star ... that will give you the best idea of what this place really is.... wow!! read more

Absolutely delicious!! My friends brought me here for a birthday dinner. We tried nearly everything on the menu! The chicken masala is the best I've ever had, hands down. 10/10 would recommend!!! read more

Great food, it doubles as a mini mart. I've come in once to use the ATM, the service was very friendly despite the language barrier.

After six hours on the road, my wife and I argued over what generic Brew Pub to go to. Then we came across Masala Box. It's almost a little bodega; beer case and lotto tickets. But the food was amazing! Everything was delicious, we had the Shrimp Vindaloo, Naan and Vegetable Samosa, and everything was fantastic. The best part was the couple running the restaurant. Incredibly nice. Next time I'm through the Portland area, I'll definitely stop by again. Ross read more

Good food and cheap. Could up the spice level quite a bit though

A hidden gem! Everything is hand made to your order so expect to wait if there are people who ordered before you. You really need to try it out if you love Indian food. There is a small table inside and a couple outside. Nothing fancy about the place but don't be fooled by first impressions when you get there. The owner is a wonderful character who goes out of his way to be sure you are happy with the food. We used to drive miles to get good Indian food, now we do not need to. read more

Very unassuming on the exterior. Great food, very nice owners. Wish we lived nearby.....we would be regulars.

Food was good but proportions for price and overall blandness backed by heat but not flavor find this place over priced and over rated

This place is the best! Authentic food doesn't get much better than this! The portions are huge, and tastes just as good the second and third day after being in the fridge! read more

Best Indian food in Portland bar- none! VJ is a great guy and he really knows how to prepare awesome food. It is a great place to discover different types of dishes. read more

Hole in the walls like this are so hard to come by in Portland area. Still is on the outskirts, so probably why it rocks. Soooo cheap and sooo much food! Super nice people. Fresh made stuff. I had the saag, it's different that other places but legit. And then the chicken curry, I loved it all. Will be back to try more! read more

What a find! Authentic curry from a wonderful couple. They were so nice accommodating our table of 4 outside their little place. We had the sag, chicken masala and adoo. Along with some naan. The food was so flavorful. Nicely simmered so the sauces blended very well together. The portions were generous so I had some leftovers for lunch the next day. A pleasant surprise was a good choice of bottled beer and 2 on tap. Wine was available too. What was equally great was the overall price from the meal to the beer. This will be my weekly get away for excellent curry. read more

Masala Box - Chana masala and naan. Generous portion for under $10. Beer choices good. I had the Goode Island IPA draft. - Indian Near Me - Gladstone, Oregon

So this is a little neighborhood quickie mart but they do have a few tables - my guess is mostly take out. The owner was so friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic - don't let the simple storefront fool you it's really a great little place. We almost didn't go in but I'm glad we did it. read more

The food here is very good, the menu is small but the portions and very large for the price. The family who owns the restaurant are very friendly and nice to chat with while you wait. read more

Mom and pop. Great service and tasty food. Unnoticeable, don't miss it if you like Indian.

Excellent samosas and homemade chutney. The food I've had here tastes as good as my Auntie back in India makes, and I think she is an excellent cook. :) Authentic, full of flavor and totally unexpected for Gladstone. Signage is a little hard to recognize when driving by, this is a mini-mart, there is not a lot of seating, parking may be tight but I believe you can park on the roadside. They sell beer, which tastes amazing with their samosas. Prices are excellent and the owners are absolutely wonderful people. If you love Indian food, you should really try this place. Home cooking at its best (which is the best kind of Indian food). read more

Amazing food and customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone. The chicken was tender and the masala sauce was amazing. Next time I will get medium instead of mild. read more

We found this small hole in the wall Indian restaurant with just six items on the menu totally by accident. Absolutely loved the food and the couple that runs it they are wonderful taste as delicious and truly experience. Cannot recommend it highly enough if you are in Clackamas area. I live in inner se & find myself going back for their food. read more

Amazing, fresh Indian Food of off a small menu and prepared by a very kind and gracious man. Unassuming location, but don't let that stop you from eating there. The naan was fresh off the flame and the Saag was unlike any I had ever had. If Portland knew about this place there would be a line out the door! A must have for lovers of ethnic foods. read more

Masala Box! I found this gem while visiting the area from Southern California. I never expected to find such authentic and delicious meals from India in Oregon. The owners (husband and wife) are both charming and very welcoming. The husband is an excellent cook and his curries are spot on! I ordered a lot and enjoyed each dish: Chicken Aloo Salmon Vindaloo Samosas Naan Rice I highly recommend Masala Box! There is a small outside patio (two tables) and three indoor tables, as well as take-out. The large cooler is well-stocked with ice cold beer, wine, and sodas. I will definitely be back again before I leave this part of Oregon! read more

Hole in the wall. Blink and you miss it. Wonderful owners who know their food. Traditional options with lots of flavor. We enjoyed chicken masala and couldn't finish all of it. Will be back to try more! read more

Wonderfully prepared food from scratch from 100 year old recipes. We had the chicken masala and salmon vindalo with Nan and balsamati rice and loved it! Takes a little longer for lunch (25 minutes) but worth the wait for freshly made meals. Will definitely be coming back to try other items. Only three tables and not much parking. Very friendly service read more

Not quite what I was expecting when I pulled into the parking lot, but was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality from the owners and the delicious food. I took the leftovers to work the next day and it may have tasted better with the flavors melting into the potatoes. Glad I found this little gem just a few minutes from my house. read more

Best. Ever. will go back! Best Indian food I have enjoyed in a long time. We ordered the Vegetable Samosa. So good. My husband ordered the Shrimp Vindaloo, medium, it was a little spicy for him but he couldn't stop eating it. He will order the mild version next time. I had the medium Chicken Masala. Oh, & of course the Naan. So delicious! Writing this makes me want to go there NOW! read more

Good food, clean place, nice people. I'll be back. Came in for lunch and was asked how hungry I was. Thought that was a nice touch. Served family style and willing to adjust portions and even give more if I was still hungry. I'll be back. read more

Great experience. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious, with generous portions. Good vegan and vegetarian options. I had the saag with basmati rice, a veggie samosa, and naan. Plenty left over to take home. Atmosphere is basically a convenience store, but it's charming nonetheless. Will return. read more

I'm from Los Angeles and I'm really surprised how few Indian food places there are. This isn't the region of Indian food I am used to, but super tasty none the less. I ordered several dishes in the regular size and we had food for many many meals. All the dishes were delicious and made with love...you can tell!!!! read more

I wasn't happy with the food - siracha (the chili garlic paste kind) was the dominant flavor in my saag... Which was weird. The owners are super nice but I really don't understand the good reviews. I also tried their shrimp vindaloo which was bland and the chana masala which was the best of the three - but also bland. Avoid this place. I give an extra star just because the owners were really nice people. Food is edible but nothing more read more

This is truly a hole in the wall place. It has 2 tables for eating there and there is absolutely no decor. However, the food is really good, so if you're in the neighborhood, definitely do take out. The owner is very nice and a really good cook. He will spice it according to your palate. Worth a try if you're in the area. read more

Delicious Chicken Curry Masala & naan. What great service plus a history lesson! We'll be back next time we are in Or.

Don't let this place fool you by the unassuming exterior. This part beer store part cigarette stop has some seriously Delicious eastern Indian food. Order a small chicken curry or the chicken paratha and Get an extra samosa because no matter how many you order you'll want another one. the food is so delicious. Don't let the humble atmosphere mislead you, this is great food! The couple who owns and runs this oasis are not churning out orders, they are making meals to satisfy everyone who walks through their door. If you had Indian step parents who could prepare amazing Indian cuisine and loved to spoil you with it, you wouldn't have to come here. For the rest of us, there is no comparison. P.S. I did mention that for $20 you can feed two people for 2 meals didn't I? read more

You would never guess the deliciousness that is created here just by looking at it. Not only is the food wonderful, but so is the couple that own it. They are friendly, helpful, and absolutely adorable. We ordered our food to-go and enjoyed our samosas while we waited. Those little pockets of goodness were so delicious (especially with the mint chutney that they brought out with them) that we ordered a couple more for the road. The chicken masala was wonderful and just the right amount of spicy and the saag had amazing flavor. We will definitely be back to try some more of their dishes. read more

This was on point. Naan was fantastic and chicken Masala with extra spice was just right!!

I saw the Masala Box in Yelp a few times, but was timid to stop by and try it because I'd never had Indian before and wasn't sure if I'd like it. Having my first experience here at Masala Box was delightful! The owners were two of the sweetest people I've met. One of the owners was very pleasant on the phone and again in person when I arrived to pick up my to go order. The other owner came right out when I arrived and hand packed my order up and asked me if I needed napkins and silverware. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area or are hesitant because the food was delicious and full of incredible flavor. read more
