Me and my friends walked into marylou's and instantly the man behind the counter was rude. He had little to no hair and was 20-30. He glared at us, and then instead of continuing to take our orders, he skipped over us and took someone else's order instead. Then he apologized to the man for us. He got frustrated at our friends who got their orders and were waiting for us. Also he was very rude to the other worker there who I assume was very new because she was asking us questions on what to do, and two of us got our orders wrong. Whoever said the best places come to us in hidden and unexpected way was TOTALLY right! As a South Shore native, I'd heard friends rave about Marylous as the only coffee that could get them through our long rehearsal afternoons and evenings at theatre classes. However, I was today years old when I finally gave them a try, and I just have to say - where has this coffee been all my life?! Do not be fooled by the location inside an unassuming gas station - this is some of the best local coffee I've had in a long time! I have been trying to cut out sugary stuff from my diet, and I absolutely LOVE that Marylous offers flavored coffees that taste great and are fun and different without the need for added sugar. While I have only tried the Blueberry Crumble and Raspberry Streusel flavors, I am definitely addicted and look forward to trying more. Seriously, I think it was a sign when I sipped my Raspberry Streusel latte (kudos for having unsweetened almond milk, too!) and loved it - 2021 is already off to an amazing start if I can keep drinking this delish and affordable elixir. The folks who work here are friendly, and even though a lot of them are young, they're trying their best to make awesome coffee with a smile in a tough year. Um like half of these people hate their jobs and make the coffee like they couldn't care less. The other half are nice and friendly and do a great job. So it just depends on who you get. But let me tell you its really disappointing to pay for a drink and have the people not make it to spec. Went through the drive thru when directed into there by google maps when searching for a dunkin' donuts and when we pulled up to the speaker and asked if there was a dunkin' donuts inside since that's where the directions took us. Marylous has always been a go to of mine for years! When they opened in Brockton I was so excited being right up the street. I haven't had luck at the Brockton location, each time I went the coffee was horrible! I stopped going for months decided to give it another chance (3 days in a row lol) and the coffee was horrible! Mind you twice when I went I asked for a coffee on the specials board and the employees did not know what I was talking about. It's a shame Marylous had such delicious coffee. read more

First time checking out Marylous was when I visited from out of state for Christmas. All my die hard Dunkin friends kept raving about it, so clearly I had to check it out. I really liked the convenience of this location, right off of route 24 with a drive-thru. The staff was friendly and helpful as my mind was overwhelmed by the amount of options of flavors. In order to truly do a coffee comparison, I got a regular iced coffee (not adventurous, but I needed to know how it measured up to the competitor) and I LOVED it. The coffee just tasted smoother, not as bitter as some other places. I became instantly hooked. My husband who is not usually a coffee drinker got a vanilla latte and was a big fan of his as well. It took me years to master the Starbucks ordering system, while Dunkin has always been 'medium regular iced coffee'. I feel like Marylous may take a while for me to the point where I can order like a competent individual and not a frazzled caffeine addicted fool, but I sure will have fun figuring it out in the meantime! read more

I was a Marylou's's and I was informed by several of the workers that work there they're only allowed one uniform T-shirt even if they work five days and then they have to pay $15 per shirt if they want clean shirts ridiculous and while they're working they have to pay for their beverages and their food And they pick and choose who they want to wait on I was in there and there was a girl behind the counter tall slim duck here and she didn't want to wait on an African-American elderly man so she asked her coworker and so she ended up waiting on him and with attitude Until I asked to the owner of the gas station. Why isn't there any African-Americans or boys working at Mary Lou's. I was informed that they do not hire boys. They do not hire African-Americans. They only hire young Caucasian, thin girls and they have to we have black stretch pants and tight shirts. Also, I realized that there are under .aged young ladies closing this gas station Mary Lou's late at night and they look like they are 14 or 15 years old. read more

Ice coffee was very good, I asked for a little ice, unfortunately the girl who made it didn't the info. I also asked for a plain donut, but they don't have those. Marylou's is one of those places I've always heard people rave about. Supposedly, their coffee blows the socks off Dunkin or Honey Dew. Unfortunately, I don't live even relatively close to any Marylou's (until they open up in Westwood in Fall 2017!!!!), so I haven't been able to try this fantastic place. I actually didn't even know there was one here, on Belmont Street in Brockton, until I visited the Shell Gas Station last year. The sign is tiny and not readable. I guess not many other people have discovered it either, being there are no other reviews. Anyway, Marylou's has proved themselves as my friends and coworkers have described them. Coffee here is like no place else. It's just awesome! Now, I'm not a big coffee drinker, however, this coffee is delectable! The taste is amazing and the way they melt the sugar is also great (and something Dunkin Donuts should do!). Their motto "Best Coffee in Town" is completely accurate! It really is great. And this location even has a DRIVE THRU!!! Plus, they have an overwhelming menu including at least 40 different coffee's (I didn't count exactly...) with tons of different flavor-enhanced coffees (the Twix one is the best!)! Staff are friendly, prices are barely over Dunkin's prices, and service is accurate and FAST! Barely any cars in the drive thru! Located in the Shell Station on Route 123 in Brockton. I will be coming here much more often. I visit Brockton once a month and never even noticed it here! Will be back soon. 5 stars for Marylou's! read more

I just went to get a coffee and the woman behind the counter was extremely rude not only did I have my face covered with a piece of cloth as a sign says she completely refused to make me a coffee because it wasn't a medical mask. I'm writing on behalf of my wife who used to go there almost daily. Last week she got a fly in her coffee, not a little fly, a big black housefly. Hard to believe someone missed it when they grabbed the cup. For what it's worth, this was the second coffee since the first one was made completely wrong. She called Marylou's customer service number and hasn't heard back from anyone besides the girl who answered the phone. I hate to cook. That's why I'm not a chef. I hate to drive long distances. that's why I don't work for Uber. Bottom line, if you hate customer service, you shouldn't have a job at the drive-through! I drove up to the (huge) menu for the first time and immediately I was greeted with "how may I help you". I replied, "one moment please". Apparently, the attendant thought I should have memorized the menu and pre-planned my order in advance since she was annoyed and didn't even respond. When I said " hi are you there", no response. Had to say it twice and got a half-hearted "what would you like". I asked, "do you have bagels"? Silence. I asked again. "we have bagels. what kind would you like". I asked, "what kind do you have, please". SILENCE. I repeated myself "I'm sorry, but there are no bagels on the menu can you please tell me what kind you have". LONG PAUSE, SILENCE. Then ANOTHER woman came on the line "hi, may I help you today"? (apparently, the first girl couldn't be bothered to do her job and thought I should magically know on my first visit something that is not even on the menu)! I repeated myself and asked, "Hi, can you please tell me what kind of bagels do you have? "She replied," What kind would you like"? I again stated, "Can you please tell me what kind you have as they're not listed on the menu out here". FINALLY, she told me. Very pleasant, (despite telling me "we can't put butter on it, but I can put it on the side". ..strange policy, but fine by me). But the first girl really left a bad taste in my mouth. If you cant tell a customer what their food options are without being rude and annoyed, then maybe you should rethink your career in customer service. read more

MaryLou's is one of my favorite places to get coffee, and I recently discovered this location at the Shell station in Brockton. They sell coffee, both hot and iced, along with hot or iced tea, frozen drinks, hot chocolate, and something called "Red Bull Infusions". There are so many flavors of iced coffee it will blow your mind. I always stare at the menu for at least 5 minutes when I go in, trying to decide which flavor to get. You can order a "regular" (plain) iced coffee, (original or decaf) or choose a flavored beverage (also available in regular or decaf). The flavored iced coffee is further divided into "flavored gourmet iced cofee", "Specialty iced coffee" and "Extra Specialty iced cofee". Each with a different price, with "Gourmet" being the least expensive (starting at $2.20 for a small), "Specialty" being next more expensive ($2.33 for a small), and "Extra Specialty" being the most expensive of all ($2.69 for a small). Under the "Gourmet" section, you will find flavors like Banana Nut Cream, Kahlua, Raspberry Strudel, and Mocha Mint. "Specialty" contains Creamy Chocolate, Peanut Butter Wonderful, Butterfinger, and Twix. Under the "Extra Specialty" heading, look for such gems as Cappuccino, Raspberry Mocha Blast,Funny Bone, and Strawberry Shortcake. Of course, there are WAY more flavors than I can list here. My favorite flavor so far is the "Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble", which, as you might guess, is a mixture of blueberry and cinnamon. They also sell a small selection of muffins and donuts at the counter. Prices are a little more expensive than other places, but I think it's worth it if you have an extra quarter or two to spare. The ladies working here are professionals. They are kind, patient....5 stars for them, but the coffee is week. It is watered down regardless of the flavor or brew. The owners are responsible not the workers. Please make your coffee stronger, even DD has stronger regular coffee. I have stopped going but the cookies and cupcakes are great.
