We stumbled across it recently, and it was honestly one of the best random adventures we've had in a long time. We were back within 2 days with the rest of the fam to keep the fun in the sun going. I couldn't believe how much there was to do for the price! If you arrive before noon, it's just $5 for a day pass ($10 after noon), and the kids can easily spend hours there. Nature trail Multiple play areas Bounce house Water features to cool off in What really made it special, though, was the owner. She is one of the kindest people we've met. She even keeps clean swimsuits and towels in the shop that families can borrow for free if their little ones unexpectedly want to play in the water. You can tell this place is run with so much heart, and I truly hope they get the recognition and support they deserve. If you're looking for an affordable summer adventure, this is it. Finding the farm was pretty easy and there is plenty of parking. I believe we got a little bit of a discounted group rate for our tickets, but even without the discount it's a fair price for all that is offered here. Our field trip guide was great (and patient) with a group of rambunctious 4/5 year olds. We were able to tour the whole farm and ended with a fun educational moment featuring floating pumpkins. The kids had a blast here - hard not to, as this patch is mostly just for kids! There's a really fun playground area with lots to do. Outside of that there are also animals to see and pet - they even took out some kittens for the kids to pet (and they're up for adoption!) There's also an indoor play spot with a corn pit, slide, excavation station, etc. And of course they have wagon rides around the patch which was a hit! They also have a little food stand with concession type food that smelled good, along with pies, donuts, and a coffee stand. After years of…read morecoming here with my family--and now getting the opportunity to see it from behind the scenes--I have an even greater appreciation for what they've built. Maris Farms Throughout the Year Maris Farms creates some wonderful experiences for families throughout the year. Their spring events, including Springtime Babies and all the baby animals, are fantastic for kids. But obviously, the highlight is the Fall Festival. There is so much to do: games, apple blasters, obstacle courses, slides, animals, and activities throughout the farm. There truly is something for every age group, and you can easily spend hours here. And the food is legitimately good--not just "good for an event." The burgers are great, the lemonade is fantastic, and the street corn is easily one of my favorites every year. Then the sun goes down, and Maris Farms becomes an entirely different experience. The Haunted Woods I've gone through the Haunted Woods with my daughter for five years, and it has become one of our favorite traditions. I've experienced plenty of haunted attractions, and I genuinely believe Maris Farms has one of the best haunts in the greater Puget Sound area. The sets, lighting, fog, animatronics, sound, and especially the way the entire haunt flows are incredibly well done. Every year they change things just enough that there's always something new waiting for you. But what really makes this haunt special are the actors. These people absolutely love what they do. From the first guests coming through around 8:00 until the final groups well after 10:30, they are ALL IN. They're performing, interacting, reading people's reactions, staying in character, and finding creative ways to scare you. Whether you're the first group through or the last, they want you to have an incredible experience. You can tell this isn't simply an attraction to the people running it. Haunting is a passion for them, and they're exceptionally good at their craft. Behind the Scenes This year, for the first time, I joined the Haunted Woods team in a security/safety role, which gave me an opportunity to see everything from the other side. It honestly affirmed everything I already believed about this place. The actors are every bit as energetic and passionate behind the scenes, and there are some genuinely great people working here. But I especially want to recognize the unsung heroes who build, maintain, and operate the sets. These guys are incredible. They're there long before guests arrive--building, repairing, adjusting corn and set pieces, testing lights, fog machines and animatronics, and making sure hundreds of little details are working correctly. When something breaks during the haunt, they're there fixing it. And after the last guests leave, when everyone is exhausted and ready to go home, they're still there. They walk the entire haunt again, checking everything and making sure it's ready to do all over again. Most guests will never see that work or know the names of the people doing it, but they deserve a tremendous amount of credit. Five Stars--From Both Sides of the Haunt After five years experiencing the Haunted Woods as a customer with my daughter, I already loved this place. Getting to see the actors, builders, designers, technicians, safety staff, and everyone else behind it has given me an entirely new appreciation for just how much work goes into creating this experience. Whether you're bringing the kids during the day for the Fall Festival, grabbing some street corn and lemonade, launching apples and hitting the slides, or coming after dark because you want somebody hiding in a cornfield to scare the living daylights out of you, Maris Farms is absolutely worth experiencing. We visited Duris Strawberry Farm on the first day of strawberry picking (Jun 13, 2026) and it was a…read morecomplete madhouse. This was about 30 minutes after opening and the small parking lot was completely full. Cars were parked haphazardly all along the street, making it difficult for two way traffic (we had to drive on the grass). Luckily as soon as we pulled into the parking lot a car reversed out. Score! Picking is hectic but organized. They give boxes out at the main stall and have a flag system to mark how far down the row has been picked. The problem is that most people didn't actually use the flags. On the other hand, it's not like the rows were picked very well in the first place. We started at a random one in the middle and there were still plenty of huge and juicy ripe strawberries even on the first couple of plants. We ended up filling our entire box, weighing in at 8.25 pounds by around half way down the row. At $4.75 that was almost $40 in strawberries! The employees said that they would rotate to a second field of strawberries later in the day for more fresh picking. The strawberry variety of the day was Puget Crimson. Since this was the first day, the cream of the crop were still available, meaning huge, juicy, flavorful, ripe strawberries all over. Puget Crimson typically seen at farm stands and markets are medium and small size; these were massive, with the larger ones averaging over 35 grams a piece. Nicely sweet too - I measured a mash of five strawberries at 10.9 brix and a second at 12.1 brix! This particular variety has a decent amount of acidity, but are all full flavored, unlike the first pick of Sweet Sunrise I had a couple of weeks ago, which were huge but somewhat watery. They are deep red/crimson in color, especially for the extremely ripe ones, and mostly conical, although we found a small number of mutants, one looking like 4 or 5 strawberries fused together! Check out is easy. Pro-Tip: there are two checkout lines, one on each side of the stall. The line furthest away from the pathway to the strawberry fields seems to always be shorter. In my case, only 3 groups in line instead of 20+ groups. Warning: these strawberries are planted on top of very sandy dirt, which sticks to the strawberries. Even after soaked and scrubbing, dirt still sticks onto the skin! I will definitely be revisiting Duris Strawberry Farm next year for their first day of strawberry picking!

She said they have great produce so we stopped there on the way home along River road and I'm so glad we did. They had big juicy sweet strawberries picked today just like she said. It was a great tip so I'm paying it forward for anyone who is looking for strawberries. It's best to call them before you go since when they run out, they close and we barely made in time after a late lunch. They only had a few half flats of strawberries bu the time we got there. GPS got us there the back way but once we found it, I have to say it's very easy to find.
