Upon moving to this smaller more rural area I was desperate to find my new donut go to. DoorDash and Waitr suggested you me Donut Palace and I set about making an order. I was pleased to see they are only 7 minutes down 44 from me, even close than the Walmart! When they arrived they were hot fresh and delicious. Little sugar clouds that melted in my mouth. I got an assorted dozen and was a fan of ever flavor. They even threw in a sprinkling of donut holes which solidified my new loyalty. Since then I have gone to the bakery myself, don't let the outside of the building fool you, some aesthetics are lacking but the drive thru is incredibly convenient and the menu is drool worthy. I haven't even gotten into the kolaches and biscuits but I'll have my eye on those for the days I'm craving savory breakfast over sweet. Very convenient drive through window so you don't even have to get out of your car. The lady at the window was super sweet and service was good. I got a dozen mixed donuts and some donut holes. Donuts weren't warm but you could tell they were freshly made. They weren't greasy and were larger than what I've seen at other local donut shops. The donut holes were on point too! Must try if you're in the area!

In addition they have a bewildering array of specialty donuts both plain and filled. Heck, they usually have about four kinds of cake donuts (including the amazing Wedding Cake Donut!). There are also other seasonal options, like King Cake. They have muffins, kolaches, shoe soles, and so many other baked goods that you can surely find something you'll like. The staff here are very nice, and there's an indoor dining area with tables so you can eat-in, or you can get and go, whatever works for you. The establishment is just off Interstate Highway 12, one exits on Interstate Highway 49 going south, then take the first exit. Very easy to drop by while passing through.

Unfortunately I don't live close by, but if I did I'd definitely consider them a competitor to Mary Lee for many and I'm sure they'd do well. The donuts are small in size, which I actually prefer. The flavor of the traditional glazed is a bit buttery but not too much so. They kind of have that melt in my mouth, light and fluffy donut taste and texture that I love.
