They have a couple of pre-sale ticket locations but being from out of town I can not access those sites easily. I do wish they had online sales for convenience but there has always been tickets available at the door so I don't stress out about it. Before the show you can peruse through giant scrap books with past shows and other theater information. It is cool to be able to look through a troupes history. Enjoy a snack any time as refreshments are sold before and during intermission. Just follow theater etiquette and try to keep the wrapper rustling to a minimum. Their home is in the Sheridan Parkside Community center which is an old school. The only slight flaw is that the seats are less than ideal due to the age of the facilities, but they are currently raising money to renovate the seating so I expect that issue to be resolved in the coming year. I believe all shows run two weekends at least and they often offer dinner theater on opening night of some shows. The acting is supurb, the sets are stellar and it has always been a great night of entertainment. I encourage you to support Towne Players, support your community and support the arts. It is worth it!

The family-like atmosphere has kept us coming back here year after year. The teachers and the teen age assistants teach dance in a fun way. My daughter has learned so much, and she feels inspired. She is very proud to be part of the school. She has literally grown up with the girls in her classes. It has become second home. The girls have enjoyed many lively, stressful, but certainly beautiful, recitals every June. In 2014, the dance school celebrated 20 years in business. In the fall of the same year, the owner and founder of the Dance school, Ms. Sam Smith, suddenly passed away. Only in her young 50's, Breast cancer took her life. The studio was bought by one of her former students, a committed dance teacher with a Head for business. A Little over year ago, the Studio moved to its current new location. There are several spacious dance studios, a lounge area for the students with lockers, and a large waiting room for parents. This school has a competition dance team and is on par with other area Dance schools. There are classes for adults as well. Check it out!

It didn't take long to get the hang of barre and floorwork exercises, and the teacher was there to help & correct positioning. After 2 years of going I learned how to dance a little on Pointe shoes as an adult! It's a nice place where there are classes for every level dancer children & adults. If you've been dancing for years and want a good class, if you danced a long time ago and wanted to pick it up again, or if you've never tried before and always wanted to. I researched a lot of places before choosing this one, and my experience has been and still is awesome!

All performers and the audience were required to their masks while in the building. (The children did such a fantastic job performing with masks, that it made it seem normal and not bothersome to wear a mask while watching). Looking forward to taking my children to see future plays at this theater. Tip: They will let small children sit on your lap. This is especially helpful if you know that buying a seat for your child would be a waste, because they would just end up sitting on you anyways.

I was in the recently re-done Rockwell Hall to see the Yamato Japanese Drummers. I knew nothing…read moreabout Japanese drummers. My husband told me they use huge drums. It was not an understatement! I estimate the sizes of the drums to be from 12 inches in diameter to 5 feet! Even the drumsticks can be quite large. The smallest drumsticks were a normal length, but much thicker. From my vantage point, they looked about an inch in diameter. The really large drumsticks are longer, approximately 2 feet long, and 3-5 inches in diameter. The sound is greatly amplified by the larger sticks on the huge drums. The troupe is made up of 7 men and 2 women. They all play on the many sizes of drums. Two of the male drummers acted as comic relief between the resetting of the drums. One pretends to poke fun at the other man and he plays to the delighted audience. Earplugs were offered to the patrons as we entered this beautiful auditorium. As much as I enjoyed the entire performance, hearing it with foam earplugs is a really good idea.
