It was an excellent recommendation. We ordered a variety of items from the cases. The cherry cobbler was especially memorable, but everything was good. We've decided to make a visit to Sjolinds for breakfast/brunch on our way out of town a part of future Mt Horeb visits.

Not to mention it was quite popular! I loved the selection of hot chocolate options and the translation for each. However I wasn't very impressed by the French one I ordered (dark chocolate plus vanilla). It was good but not as decadent as I was anticipating and even with 30 min to close I asked to dine in but they gave me everything in Togo containers. I also got a Swede sandwich- which was ham, Swiss and Dijon mustard. Nothing to write home about. It was very very average. However I did get an almond cookie with chocolate ganache which was fantastic. Sitting at a table in this shop and looking at all the treats was great. I have a feeling if I come back at an earlier time this place could really blow me away, but as of right now. It's mid. I'm not impressed and what was left at the end of the day was just average. Also the three items cost me about $20 so I would say this place Is on the pricer end

Each comes with a record player with vinyl collection, chocolate truffles, and outdoor sitting area. Extra blankets for the chilly evenings. Also: Bikes to take out exploring Blanchardville and the countryside. S'mores ingredients, wood, and other materials for the firepit! Stargazing was stunning. The guest bathroom (clean) is across the yard in the main house, with a separate entrance. Towels are provided. Breakfast was self-serve on the common porch and filling (granola, yogurt, coffee, fruit, etc.). The Marions have a special gift for authentic hospitality. Home-cooked, straight-from-the-fields food is delicious and worth the trip alone. Just this morning we had homemade goat cheese, sweet and savory waffles, fresh-laid eggs with Swiss chard, and homegrown sausage with gravy. We always look forward to scratching the goats on the nose, or playing with the barn kittens, or hearing someone pick a guitar by the campfire. Our family has been visiting here from Chicago for years, and we come back whenever we possibly can. Without fail, when we turn into the long gravel drive here, our kids start shouting for joy.

As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) by the variety of art displayed all over the store. I really liked the skateboards painted by a local artist, and the person working the tea counter was happy to talk to me about the artists and the upcoming art fair in town. I took some time to peruse the tea accouterments available in the store, including mugs and infusers, ready-packaged loose tea, and more. This is a great place to shop for a tea lover in your life! Then I meandered over to the walls of tea. There are many varieties available and again the employee was very happy to talk through any questions. There were four teas at the counter that were available to sample. I sometimes appreciate having more limited options instead of having too big of a selection to be indecisive about, so I tried a couple samples and chose from there. I got the Precious Eyebrows tea (that's a translation of the original name!), and it was a really good classic green tea. The treats behind the counter, like the chocolate chunk cookies and different types of pie, were very tempting. I didn't get any food this time, but I do hope to return! The store is also linked to an art and jewelry gallery that I was able to check out while my tea was steeping. There is also both indoor and outdoor seating and a couple of other shops right nearby to check out. Great place to check out.
