It feels like we are clubbing in here. Can't have a conversation really. The corn chips are not fresh, could be better if they were freshly made. I want the chips to be good. The elote seems to be mixed with the queso, which is really runny. It tastes better, but could be thicker. The guacamole is average, not a lot of flavor to it. Main food orders in after about 15 minutes after we were seated. The flautas are super dry, the chicken that is. The chicken isn't even jerky like, just bark like burnt. The lobster quesadilla tastes rather interesting. On closer examination after the odd texture of the lobster, it had the strangest layers to it, reminds me of the Krab. Something quite odd about their lobster for sure, comes across to me as imitation meat. Hard to describe how weird it was to me, has completely left me at a loss and utterly confused. Meat doesn't have the chew I expected at all, mostly disintegrated in my mouth without biting it and the odd layers really threw me off exceedingly. My husband asked our waitress about the nature of the lobster meat to Nikki. She asked the kitchen if the lobster meat in the quesadilla and enchiladas was real lobster meat. The kitchen of course said yes, it is. I wouldn't have expected anyone to say the lobster meat was imitation though. Such a strange meal and experience tonight.

I had the Pollo Felipe, grilled chicken breast topped with shrimp, cheese sauce & vegetables with rice on the side. A friend recommended it & she ordered it two nights in a row! My other friend got the Enchiladas Suizas--she said the pork on top was fall apart tender & delicious. Great margaritas! We went traditional, on the rocks with salt. From the doubled up corn tortillas, to the tender well cooked meat, cilantro and their wonderful sautéed onions these Street style Taco's are as authentic as anything you would get in Mexico. The gratis house chips and Salsa were equally tasty and a nice complement to the Taco's all being washed down with a sugar cane based Mexican coke. The total bill came in at a very reasonable cost of $12 which is a great value in today's economy and a great deal by any standard. Relative to staff and facility, this appears to be a small family run business where the restaurant itself is located in a small strip mall at the corner of Franklin and Square Lake Rd with an equally small footprint for the restaurant. This is a very unpretentious business (think hole in a wall but in a nice way) with a limited number of dining tables and small staff. Having said that, I had no problem in getting seated and getting my order taken and food brought out in fairly quick order! I have been on a kick for a while now trying to find the best taco joint in the the northern Oakland county area and have to say this is as good as I have come across up to now and am a big fan of this business. If you are into well made authentic Mexican street taco's than this is a must visit for you. This was my first visit here and definately will not be my last where I will be combining this dining venue with my regular Bloomfield Hills Costco trips which is a Quarter mile from the restaurant.

The chips tasted homemade, thin and crispy with just the right amount of salt. The salsa was a little thinner than I prefer, but it had a nice kick once it arrived. For our meal, we ordered the chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas. The steak and chicken were both moist, flavorful, and well seasoned. The shrimp, unfortunately, didn't have much flavor, and I was disappointed by the vegetable ratio. There was a huge bed of onions and only about one pepper in the mix. One of the highlights was the steak tacos. The steak was chopped into small pieces, packed generously into the tortillas, and so tender and juicy that you could barely close them. They were absolutely delicious. We also tried the handmade chicken taquitos appetizer. They come cut into smaller pieces rather than whole taquitos, but don't let that fool you. The chicken was finely shredded, the crispy exterior was perfect, and the spicy sauce that came with them was excellent. The portion was surprisingly large and easily shareable. A special shoutout to our server, Parker. He was fantastic. He checked on us frequently without being intrusive, offered menu recommendations, brought us extra tortillas without us even having to ask, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Great service can make a meal memorable, and Parker definitely did that. There is plenty of parking since the restaurant is located in a plaza, though it's easy to drive right past it if you're not paying attention. The only downside was the price. Lunch ended up being around $20 per person, which feels a little high.
