Really awesome LGS (local game store) ! We went here for the Chaos Rising pre-release event on…read moreSaturday (my first time for a pre-release, and our first time here). Everything was well organized and the turnout was pretty good. There were two groups, one for juniors and one for (young) adults, for fairness. Another thing I liked was that everyone got 3 extra packs instead of awarding it based on wins, given we're playing with pre-con decks + 4 packs that are all random. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, shout-out to Bryan (the general manager?) and the official judge for the event. Plus I had a great conversation with him and Michael(?) about MTG; they're definitely very passionate about board & card games. They have anti-scalping policies in place for Pokemon. As for the space itself, decent amount of parking (more in the back). They're very popular for Warhammer, so there's a ton of product for those who play, and several tables set-up with many people playing all afternoon next to us (the 'playing hall' is pretty large!). They also have an aisle with board games for sale, and a counter with TCG products. Restrooms are spacious and clean. All in all, The Forge is pretty much all you can ask for in a LGS; they're also independently owned! I wish I live closer, but I'll definitely be here again soon!

What makes this the best game store, though, is the PEOPLE. They are welcoming, knowledgeable and happy to share what they clearly love. Go visit the new location & be prepared to LOVE IT!!

Incredibly disappointed with the owner today. 4 adult men and one woman (who chose to not to stand…read morein line nor go in because of the backlash by families in line) placed chairs and left to go home and sleep, which they had already done the day prior. After we all formed in line since 1:50 am, 2:30am, and so on, these individuals bullied their way into being first in line at 6:15 am and 7am respectively. The owner admitted she was afraid of them and still let them go in while threatening anyone who complained with not letting them in the store. Argued with families rather than excluding people who chose to skip everyone else. I do not have a video of the owner arguing with a father and gentleman in line but plenty of witnesses. These men were also smoking cigarettes/cigars next to all the families.

Pretty good variety of toys for all ages and abilities. My husband and I were SHOCKED at the prices here. They were 2x, 3x 4x the price of other stores. My sister commented on how she bought one of the exact same toys at Walmart the other day for a fraction of the price. I saw a mini pool table toy that I swear is at Dollar Tree being sold for $5.99 here. My kids walked around asking how MANY things they could get... ummm... me (the frugal one) said none. My husband let them get one thing... but then said it had to be $5 or under after seeing how even the small things were $10+. Even candy items were $3.99. It was pretty difficult for the kids to find something. We were in there for what felt like an eternity. When we got in the line to pay, we apparently went at the wrong time... the ladies in front of us were having their items gift wrapped. (Sigh) We waited at least ten to fifteen minutes. All we wanted to do was get out of there. I have to say, despite the wait, we did appreciate the lady at the counter's friendliness. She was really wonderful. All in all, cute small business but "too rich for our blood."
