The owner listened very attentively to my Aunt's requirements for shoes. He sat down and measured her feet. Then he brought out many possibilities. The shoe selection was great. The customer service phenomenal. To see this many quality shoes in a local store was amazing. The value is very good too. I purchased some Hoka sneaker too. Prices of the shoes are excellent. I highly recommend this shoe store for everyone. Service and value are far beyond anything you find in a shoe department anywhere else.

John was helping a customer and never acknowledged my presence. After maybe 5 minutes an African American young woman I had passed when entering the store (she was at the pant rack near the front) came over. Standing maybe 8 feet away she started asking questions. I told her that with the loud music I couldn't hear her. She never budged and kept asking questions; I kept repeating that I couldn't hear her. I had my service dog who was sitting quietly. I heard her say something about the dog. Refusing to come near me meant she could not help fit me with a shoe. I asked for her name, and she turned and went to the back of the store. I then asked John for her name and he asked why I wanted it. When I explained that she was refusing to help me he stated "she would never do that." I explained I wanted to report this to the manager (who I have met -he is great). Per my request he called out the assistant store manager from the back. I explained what happened. No apology offered. He said "I'm here now" and offered to help. If she had an issue with a service dog she should have just called the manager to help. So much for good service! I left and drove to REI where I bought my shoes. So in the end they did me a favor. I got my walking shoes!!

Frustrated I started googling for shoe store that would give my feet a real assessment. I found Miles Ahead Sports and was encouraged by positive reviews. I showed up 30 minutes before closing and still felt I received the utmost service. My feet were measured, my arch assessed and my walk observed to find the best solution. It turns out my feet grew a whole shoe size. Three options were given and the toe boxes checked for the appropriate amount of room. We found a shoe we both felt worked best and off I went. I am normally a discount and outlet shopper but I was happy to pay full retail to get a good fit and the service needed to make that match. I plan on returning when my shoes need to be replaced.
