We obtained multiple bids, and settled on working with Mike, the owner of Meraki Home Renovations. His bid was competitive and fair. We took the bathroom down to the studs and subfloor, with the exception that we retained the wood vanity and cabinets that were in good shape. Mike did the majority of the work, including all of the repairs and mitigation for the shower leak, all of the new waterproofing, placement of the freestanding tub, building a new pony wall and a few shelves; and he did all of the tile work. He was in our home most weekdays during the project, and he worked exceptionally hard (and was easy to have around). He communicated regularly with us and frequently invited us to make decisions on minor details. He made a point of protecting the rest of our house on a daily basis from any wear or dirt from the remodel project. We used a designer, but Mike had useful modifications to the design that we are glad that we implemented. In all of his work, Mike had an acute eye for detail and was unwilling to take shortcuts. In the case of unexpected findings or when we had a preference for upgrades, his pricing was transparent and agreed to ahead of time. Not only was Mike an expert craftsman, with a wide range of building skills, he was diligent and thorough in his work, always considerate of our preferences and privacy, fair and honest, enthusiastic about his work, and a man of integrity. We were thoroughly pleased with the result of our bathroom remodel. We would definitely choose to work with Mike again in the future, and we would recommend him without hesitation to others considering bathroom or other types of remodels.
