ALDI - Aldi 'finds' has 3 sized of Pampers today

This Aldi's location is very much laid out like the one I shop at in RI. Fresh produce is right…read moreinside the door, dairy along the back wall, frozen food along the far wall. Plenty of snack items, pre-made foods, cereals, eggs, milk, meats, cheese, frozen foods, ice cream, water, juice, spices, coffee, etc. It's all here. I personally am not a fan of their brand of bread products - a bit dry, but their chocolate and ice cream - good stuff. I also like their seasonal buys. In winter it may be a blanket, stuffed animal or space heater. in summer it could be a fire pit, lantern or sprinkler toy. What ever it is, when it's gone, it's gone and you probably won't see it again, so check the flyer. The prices at Aldi are usually good. I always try to be aware of what an item generally costs, so I know if I'm getting a good deal. Store brand items are less money, but they also have national brands too. Some of the store brand items, like cheeses and jaffa cakes, are very tasty. Don't be afraid to try them. The Aldi's near me requires you put a quarter in the grocery cart to 'unlock' it. I keep a quarter in my car for this purpose. When you return the cart you get the same quarter back. It's all about saving you money, and if they are not paying someone to gather your carts from the parking lot, that means their overhead is less, and your costs are less. There are also no baggers, and no bags. You can purchase bags from the cashier if you'd like or bring your own. S/he will scan your groceries, and put them back into your cart. Once you pay, there is a shelf along the back wall where you can bag your own groceries, or just dump them into your trunk. Whatever. This may all seem very strange but these small differences are what allows the store the keep prices low. I haven't seen a 'self check out' at any Aldi's I've been to, and didn't notice if this one has one, but I don't think they offer this option. There are usually a couple of workers on the floor if you need help finding something. The store is well lit and clean, aisles are very wide and clearly labled. If you have't stopped in, give it a look. I recommend trying the ice cream.

I'm torn on how too write this review. What they have to offer is amazing. But it feels like they…read moreare benefitting off being in Amish country. Maybe I feel that way because the store we had just come from was a full fledged Amish store and this one is reaping the rewards from being in the area. Like the other reviews says, it is a great find in this area. Offering fresh deli meats and cheeses, when there is nothing else around and you don't feel like travelling far to grab a necessity like a meat or cheese. However, unless you are visiting or on vacation I doubt you would make it here anytime soon. It gives vacation vibes, a shop that you would step into to grab a cute souvenir or something to take as a gift. Prices, to me they are steep. But if you are willing to pay, go right ahead. They do have some great things, but a lot of it appears to be mass produced, even the prepackaged items that aren't fresh meat or cheese. It was worth the visit, but you kind of feel like you are in the wrong spot at first. This is part of a working farm, however it also feels like you are pulling into a family's home. The only giveaways that this is a working store is the sign and when you finally approach the door.

The store has recently expanded to included lots of country decor to purchase. The owners are wonderful. I would highly recommended you stopping by on your next trip to Smicksburg.

I'm updating my review because there's been more improvements…read more Subs: 3.5 stars out of 5. They really are delicious with high quality ingredients. In store sub line still sucks and it's still slow, but if you pre-order on the app for pickup it's great 80% of the time now. They did cut the meat portions by like 50% in the last 2 1/2 years, forget things like the extra oil on the side, cut it wrong, forget toppings, skimp on toppings... here and there, but it's better than it was. Sushi: 4.5 stars out of 5. Filling portions have gone down some in the last 2 1/2 years, but quality is still good. It's rare to get old mushy avocado in their sushi now. They always have great new rolls to try. Staff are always friendly working that section too. Pizza: 3 stars out of 5. Staff really like to chit chat with the already snail slow sub station staff and take their sweet time. Skimpy on toppings. Not very good pizza especially in NY where we have amazing pizza all over. Deli: 5 stars Always well stocked with friendly fast staff and great selection. Butcher: 5 stars Always great cuts of meat to make the higher costs more worth it most of the time. Steak cost is out of control though compared to other local places. Always clean with friendly staff. Cheese section: 5 stars really great selection and staff. Flourist: 5 stars Perfect long lasting beautiful bouquets for every season and holiday. Produce: 3.5 stars out of 5 They are okay. Some things really don't last very long once you get them home especially the extremely expensive premade fruit trays and salads. Cashiers: 5 stars so fast and friendly in both sections now! Customer service desk: 5 stars great! Grocery pickup: 5 stars Always the best! So fast, accurate, and friendly. Pharmacy: 5 stars Always so friendly and knowledgeable! Beer selection: 5 stars Phenomenal HUGE rotating selections of local and imported beers as well as large great non alcoholic variety. They have beer on the shelves and a walk in cooler too. Shelf stocking staff: 5 stars Always organized, faced, and clean with a good variety. Stocked well 90% of the time and rarely anything out of date or damaged. Parking lot and cart staff: 5 stars It's so clean and debris free. Carts are always orderly as well as restocked quickly. Bonus: If there's ever a spill, broken glass, or garbage anywhere in the store or parking lot staff are on it IMMEDIATELY. Very clean!

2027 can't come soon enough. Cranberry Wegmans opens…read more On a business trip, put in a bakery order several days ahead of time. Being able to pick up my (large) bakery order and not leaving someone disappointed at home makes me happy. Had my list of must haves. I meandered through all the departments. Wasn't on a time schedule. I spent 2 hours in the store. Found beautiful baby lamb chops. Filets were $6/lb cheaper than my grocery store. Bought beautiful endive. Had to bring home the red wine peppered salami. Coming home, opening the cooler, and handing out foodie presents is like Christmas morning. The oohs and aahs were heard at multiple houses. The staff were very helpful finding my treasures. Wegmans trips make traveling for business worth it.

How this Wegmans location has sunken…read more.. Back before they dedicated a significant chunk of store to alcohol, they had a pretty nice tea nook and natural section. It used to be somewhat "fun" to shop here, and the international corner had more variety. Parts of the latter have been gutted and somethings dispersed back into the regular aisles. Everytime you walk by the alcohol section, whatever dutiful lady theu have standing guard of the section, has to eyeball me like surely that's surely where I must be heading. Should not feel the need to mention, but I could not care less about drinking, and even if I did, I wouldn't come here for that. When I was younger and working grocery for peanuts at a mediocre grocery chain that wasn't known for such above average employee benefits and environments than precious Wegmans, our crews had good attitudes while still being human. Somehow, the employees at Wegmans have a general blend of apathy, misery, and barely tolerance. I remember one instance I had to go in there soon after a family tragedy, two days without sleep, stress, through the roof and a chronic medical condition dragging me down worse than usual, and I still did my best to be pleasant and polite to a cashier who was literally talking to me like she hated my guts, like I had just wronged her entire family for years, while moving my items like it took every fiber of her being to not slam each one down in the bag. No idea what that was about, as the people in front of me got no such treatment. It's not as if i was wearing my own feelings in my sleeve. I would've been let go on the spot for displaying a fraction of the attitude while I was making a fraction of their wage, this young woman was flat out being abusive. I've never even seen a teenager act out in such a way to a complete stranger. It was so bizarre. We used to have such pleasant interactions with the employees here, and we'd even sometimes plan our hour away trips to thr area around coming to this store. Now it's tacked when it's absolutely neccesary, and we see it as a chore to even run in for a couple things, a mild dread usually reserved for Walmart. The level of the self importance vibe of the people who still shop here who act like they're in some high end metropolis in a hurry and everyone else is just cattle in their way is so thick. The thing is, it doesn't even make sense. Wegmans (at least this location) has very few things that make it exclusive anymore. It is reduced to a status symbol store in so many ways, without the goods and services to back it up. Because they still have people playing chef for Safeway deli / mall caliber food? Get me out of here.
