I was in St. Marys for a family reunion when all of a…read moresudden my check engine light came on the night before I was supposed to be leaving to come home. I took my car to Autozone to read the code and they told me that a part in my transmission was out and that there was no one in town who could fix it for me on a Sunday. My mom asked the front desk clerk at the hotel if she knew of a mechanic who would work on Sunday and she sent us to her dad at J&L. Larry was able to diagnose and fix the problem (which turned out to be a leak in my transmission fluid line) in only a few hours. He was incredibly honest, reasonably priced, and I have made it home all the way to Louisville with no check engine lights on and no problems at all. Larry, his wife (whose name I didn't get) as well as the woman working at the register were so incredibly kind. He even called to check on me and make sure that I wasn't having any more problems on my drive home. If I lived anywhere close by I would make him and his shop my mechanic forever.

They have pretty much what you would expect a small family run gas station to have; a few coolers with drinks, a couple of rows of food, and some this and that items you might need. The insides look a little warn down, but all together clean. Cashier was friendly and they had a pretty decent supply of beef jerky. If I am looking for a quick and this place is nearby I would stop again.
