I also wish to commend Stefan Bellotto, Project Manager, for his exemplary leadership throughout this process. Prior to engaging New Beginnings Construction, I unfortunately worked with another company that claimed it could assist with the restoration of my home. It soon became evident that this company lacked both competence and integrity. I spent countless hours reviewing inaccurate claims that were submitted directly to my insurance company without my knowledge, and attempting to locate personal belongings that had been removed and taken to undisclosed locations. The experience was distressing and deeply unsettling, leaving me concerned about how my family, my business, and I would recover from the situation. My initial conversation with Cory Plies at NBC marked a clear and meaningful turning point. From the outset, the professionalism, transparency, and ethical standards demonstrated by your team stood in sharp contrast to my prior experience. Stefan Bellotto led the project with exceptional diligence, clear communication, and unwavering integrity. His consistent updates through the Buildertrend app provided transparency and accountability, allowing me to remain fully informed and confident in the progress of the project. Stefan's attention to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to doing what was right made a significant difference during an otherwise challenging period. His conduct reflects positively on New Beginnings Construction and speaks to the values and leadership of your organization. Please extend my sincere appreciation to Stefan and the entire team involved in my project: Todd Meagher, William Clifford, Jonathon Harrell, and Gavin Plies. Their professionalism, quality of work, and ethical approach restored not only my home, but my trust in the restoration process. Thank you for fostering a company culture that prioritizes integrity, communication, and excellence. It has been a privilege working with New Beginnings Construction, and I would not hesitate to recommend your organization to others. Thanks to your team I now know that what looked like the end was actually a New Beginning. Wishing your team a Happy New Year..or should I say a Happy New Beginning! Mahalo

This is was a big project to remove a wall to open up our downstairs, completely renovate the kitchen, pull up and install new floors, and paint the entire house. The project finished exactly on time. The price was reasonable. This was a once in a lifetime reno, and we could not be more happy with the quality of the work, the end result, and the overall experience. We use our kitchen every single day (all day!), and it is functional and beautiful. There is nothing I would change about it. All parties involved should be recognized, from design services to project management and to each of the contractors: Cabinet guys, countertop guys, floor installers, painting team. All did really quality work. I haven't hung up pictures yet because it's so nice having beautifully painted walls!! It's worth pointing out that we could not afford to vacate our home while this was going on, so we (my husband, me, our 5 year old son, and 12 year old dog!) lived in the house for 5 weeks without a kitchen, floors, etc. I know our living there and needing some place to sleep, etc. had to be factored in to the overall organization and scheduling, and I'm sure it made the project more complicated. This didn't seem to faze anyone! This is also why we appreciate that the project finished exactly on schedule. Thank you Jack, Jackie, Gina and the entire team!!

We have had a WA roof since 2016 and couldn't be happier with quality of materials, workmanship,…read morespeed of installation, thoroughness of waster removal and cleanup. My purpose here is to thank WA and their representative Adam for coming out to inspect the roof for possible damage caused by animals that had invaded our attic. Adam personally visited, flew a drone for several minutes to see if there was obvious damage. Seeing none he climbed to the roof and walked the whole area. The roof is completely intact. I tried to pay for his time but was told "no charge" since I was a customer. This is a top notch company and you cannot go wrong if you need a new roof and rest assured you will no be ignored if you have a problem years down the line. BTW, animal entry apparently was via soffits which are vinyl, although damage to those is not apparent. Tree branches next to the house were cut way back where they can't get in and the problem has been solved!

I called Willow Ash with a problem concerning a third floor deck. My house is fairly new, but the…read morethird floor deck finish wasn't done properly and In the beginning, this company was awesome. The owner, Ryan, came out and listened to my original vision and came up with a solution on how to fix it and assured me that he would find product that would create the finish that I was looking for. He sent me a quote of $2,400 which I had no reason to question because according to their reviews this company is great. I was sent a link for a deposit which I paid immediately. Once a product was found, colors were picked and a date was set (setting a date took forever) they were able to get to work. The problems really began with his worker, Jose. Jose came out and sanded down the original finish and properly (?) graded the deck. When the initial product went down it was not the correct color but I was assured that if I wasn't happy once they were done, they would come back and lay another color on top. From here on out it took weeks to get the project finished. Whether or not Jose would show up was up to fate and I never knew if a guy I didn't really know was going to show up at my house as I was getting ready for work. Initially, we noticed that cracks were starting to appear even before the job was finished. I was assured of a solution. It took a while for this new product to get shipped, but Jose finally came back with another product to put down that apparently was supposed to "fix" the cracks for good. In the end, I hated the color, but was told that it would cost more $$ to change the color even after I was assured it would be no problem to lay another color on top. Once the job was "done" or so I thought, I came upstairs to find that epoxy was on door, the door knob, hardwood floors and walls of the deck itself. I complained so the owner sent Jose back out to "fix" it but to this day there is *still* epoxy on surfaces of my home. At this point, I have to admit I wasn't thrilled, but the job was done and I could finally enjoy my deck. I was assured BY THE OWNER that if cracks ever appeared he would come out and fix it no problem. When it came to actually paying the bill, he added on charges because the job "took longer than expected". It was over $300 dollars more than the original quote and this was done without any communication. I disputed the extra amount because any delay in this project was certainly not because I was delaying the project seeing as how it was HIS worker doing the work. He did eventually change the bill so it was the original quoted amount and I paid under the assumption and assurance that any cracks would be addressed. Inevitably, months later the cracks started to appear. As time went on the cracks got worse, but I wasn't worried because the owner said he would fix them no problem. I called him and he actually seemed to care. He said he would research another product and send Jose out to fix. Of course, I never heard from him again. I called multiple times and was always told something different. Eventually, he basically asked me what the heck did I expect him to do? I kept a texting chain going and at times he would text and say could they come back to take a look, but when I responded I would never hear back. Eventually, I sent an email which received no response. I actually had a contractor come out and give me a product recommendation which I sent to Ryan at Willow Ash Roofing and he never responded again. My deck is still not fixed and looks way worse than it originally did. At this point, I've been quoted the SAME amount to fix a deck that I paid to have refinished in the beginning. I am disappointed and frustrated.

I highly recommend Charleston Roofs & Windows!  Very professional and great service…read more They just completed placing a new roof for me and I am very impressed with how smoothly the whole process was.  Starting with prompt return of my initial call, Michael Kelley worked with me helping me to understand what was needed, patiently answering questions and helping me choose the right type of roofing for my house.  He always answered  my phone calls, which I appreciated and valued such good customer service. The install was scheduled, and the crew showed up at 6:30am that day. They draped and covered vulnerable areas and worked all day removing the old shingles and placing the new roof.  Overseeing the progress at the jobsite was Adam Cobb.  He came to me a couple of times to update me on how things were going and see if I  had any questions. When the job was completed the next day, he let me know they were done.  That is when I saw that my yard, porch, decks, flower beds and driveway were left in even better shape than they started with. So, there you have it.  If you want to wonder about the quality and service you will get-keep looking.  But if you want to get the best up front, go with CR&W.

When we pointed out that the line was clearly visible, they claimed they were still not responsible and would cover just $250 of the $2133, but only if we removed the 1-star Google review we had just left. Rob Hanawalt is awesome! Hire his company!…read more We met Rob in 2005-2006 when he worked as a subcontractor on a house we were building. He obviously had skill as a carpenter and was very respectful. His attention to detail is great as he built a door from a door slab we provided (he didn't require a pre-hung door). He always checked with us when we were both on site to see if we were satisfied with his work and to see how we were doing. Soon after the completion of the house, we directly hired him to do some handy-man work on the townhouse we were selling. His price was fair, and he did a great job. As usual, he kept to schedule and finished when he said he would. In 2009, we hired his company, Inspired Construction, to fill in the ground level of the house he worked on in 2006 (house on columns). Again, Rob listened to what we wanted and was willing to work with us on tasks that we wanted to do ourselves. His quote was fair, and his crew members were as trustworthy as him. He did a great job. He suggested subcontractors to us instead of just hiring them. We went with his suggestions, and the subs were as good as Rob. You're probably wondering what happens if something goes wrong. Well, my wife and I left confusing directions with Rob about how we wanted our exterior steps built before we left on a long weekend trip. I described how to build them, and my wife later told him that a neighbor had a set of stairs similar to what we wanted. The stairs were done when we returned, but not how we wanted. Instead of refusing to work with us, he agreed to rework the stairs for half of the rework price. He's never run out on a job like other contractors we hired. He's so good that he provided a copy of the paid invoice for the 2009 job when we couldn't find it in 2016 for tax purposes. To summarize, Rob is competent, hard-working, dependable, respectful, and trustworthy. The definition of professional should have his picture included. The worst characteristics about a contractor are lack of communication and not showing up. Rob doesn't have these characteristics. He even returns a call to say that his company is too busy to take on a job (give him a couple of days to call back though). Stop looking and hire him if you are lucky enough to find him with an opening in his schedule. I did read the review by Arienne L. and have no knowledge of the project. If that review concerns you, you really need to contact Rob to discover his side of the story. All I can say is that we had at least 4 ventures with Rob over at last 5 years, and he was ALWAYS a stand up guy.

Where to start... Everyone said my husband and I were crazy for even contemplating a home…read morerenovation. General contractors have about the same reputation as car salesmen (except about 10 times worse), but we made sure to do our homework and interview MANY general contractors in the Charleston area. We narrowed it down to two, and decided to choose Rob Hanawalt of Inspired Construction. He seemed to be a diamond in the rough. His appearance was so non-threatening, he was well-spoken and intelligent, and above all he seemed extremely passionate about his work, craft, and customer service. Unfortunately for us, he has proven to be anything but. Our experience with him has lasted for over a year now, and the nightmare seems to be never-ending. Our project was a large project, but was one that he assured us he had the expertise to undertake. The job went over budget, well over the time frame (as it still has not been completed 100%), and has left my family with hardwood floors that need to be replaced and will likely cost us tens of thousands of dollars to fix. Here is a list of just some of the specific issues he failed to complete: - He failed to have proper knowledge of how to install our bamboo flooring throughout our house. He failed to properly manage his subcontractors while they were installing our floors, and could never provide us with full documentation on the type of glue that was used during installation. Our floors now need to be replaced and could cost us up to $30,000 to replace! When we asked him to file a claim with his insurance to fix the problem, he denied any wrongdoing and threatened my husband and family. - He failed to have proper knowledge of Charleston County code requiring our house to have hurricane protection shutters, which cost us thousands of unexpected dollars to create and install. - Our yard was left in shambles, with nails, concrete, piles of dirt, bricks, paint cans, and other debris strewn about. When we brought this to his attention and asked him to clean up the mess, he told us that the yard was not a part of his "scope of contracted work" and that we basically should have expected our yard to be destroyed during our renovation. Instead we had to spend days cleaning up the mess ourselves, as well as having to hire outside help to do the things we could not do ourselves. We also had to just pray that our young children would not hurt themselves while in our yard. Our children's safety was obviously never a concern of his... At first we were devastated by this huge blunder caused by Inspired Construction. We tried several times to bring the problems to his attention so that he could attempt to rectify the situation, but unfortunately that didn't work. Not only did he deny any wrongdoing (which we figured he would do), but he went so far as to blame the problem on us, the clients, and threaten us with all sorts of outlandish things. Honestly, there are many more issues to report on, but I am tired of thinking about it at this point. I have never in my life dealt with someone so unprofessional, dishonest, disingenuous, and lacking of common decency. There is not enough room on this page for me to express the entirety of grief and aggravation that he has caused my family. PLEASE, for your own sake, DO NOT hire this company to do any sort of work on your house. You will regret it. The phrase "wolf in sheep's clothing" was created to describe individuals like Rob Hanawalt.
