We entered into a contract with Steve from Set In Stone on the 27th of June to add an extension to our existing patio (installed by them in 2022). Like others we put 50% down ($4100) as a deposit. Work was expected to start in December 2023 or January 2024. We have not received any contact from Steve or his company since June 29th when we received a copy of the contract. Their phone is no longer accepting calls, they are not returning e-mails or FB Messenger messages, and it appears that their business office has been closed. I am hoping that they will contact me to resolve this issue and I do not have to report them to the State Licensing board and file a claim in Small Claims court.

Not a good experience at all. We hired Doug Waring and his crew to complete a project for us in the…read morebackyard. Price was great and they showed up on time. We really took care of the crew with drinks and snacks, etc as we appreciated their help in this project. After the installation was finished, the staining on the patio was very streaky, uneven, and had a ton of roller marks. We assumed that would go away as the concrete cured. A few days later, we noticed a geyser of water flowing out from underneath the patio. Affordable concrete had punctured an irrigation line with one of the stakes while pouring the concrete. I ended up spending about 2 hours of time running to the store, cutting and splicing the line, and reburying in 98 degree heat. I called Doug and he was initially apologetic. My water bill was crazy that month so I told him to just throw me $75 for the parts and the extra water- Pretty reasonable I think considering I could have hired someone to do it, and the parts alone were $20! He said OK and asked me to text after 7/4 holiday to arrange payment. Finally, after multiple texts he contacts me on 7/25, 3 weeks later. I tell him that the patio stain was still really bad looking and probably needed another coat to look ok. Doug tells me he would send someone over the weekend of 7/27 to fix it, but then asks me HOW MUCH AM I GOING TO PAY HIM? I said no sir, it wasn't right from the get-go and needs to be corrected with another coat of stain. He said ok no problem, he'd send someone over that weekend. I even sent him the pictures I posted in this review! He mailed me the check for the irrigation damage, but here we are 3 weekends later on 8/16 and no call, no show from Doug. Excuses don't cut it Doug, and customers don't like getting the run-around. If you want to make this right drop off a gallon of matching stain and the proper roller and Ill do it myself.

The actual work was done on time but they left behind a huge mess and a sprinkler system that would not work even though they told me they could lay sod without disrupting my sprinkler system. I was promised they would leave my area as clean as it was before they came. That alone did not happen. They made a verbal agreement to come back on a certain day for cleaning but instead they decided to show up early and clean when I was not at home. That attempt was halfway done. They left behind a very upset, traumatized dog because I had not put her up not knowing that they were coming. Upon calling the owner and explaining how upset and angry I was, a verbal and written agreement that was initiated by the owner was made that I would be refunded my money and they would come fix the sprinkler system. I did not ask for this nor did I initiate it but I did accept it. 20 minutes before he was to fix the sprinkler system he sends me a text, no not even a phone call that he will be a no-show and not refund my money because I refused to pay. That in itself is a lie. I will pay for a quality job done right. Nothing about this company nor this job was done correctly. Take your chances if you use them but I never will nor would I ever recommend anyone utilizing them. They have a five star rating because of one person leaving a comment on Facebook.
